These two are personally one of my favorite ships. They are a power couple. It’s also 3am so I don’t know what else to write about these two - I think I’ve stated enough in the works in progress posts already 😊.
Additional Info: MEIKO and KAITO were developed alongside each other, and programmed to complement each other’s voicebanks. Their vocal range are relatively neutral, so they harmonize very well together; MEIKO has a lower alto range, while KAITO is a high baritone.

In the Wip I posted of the Kaito x Meiko comic, there was originally a stark transition from Kaito only having lipstick marks on his lips and on the base of his neck - to his face full of them 💋.
So I decided it would be nice to draw the scene of how he got those extra marks. :)

I usually start with a very messy sketch, to get the flow of the piece. Then the Lineart and details are added on a different layer. The number of new layers depends on the complexity of the piece. 😊

Niigo (Nightcord) KAITO was released a few days ago - according to current dialogue, he has a blunt attitude and has not patience for beating around the bush. I have not yet read the translation of his interactions with Luka and Meiko (pictured), but from his animated talk sprite they seem to have an interesting dynamic! I think his brash, cold attitude would be really fun mixed with Luka’s playfulness and Meiko’s indifference. 😊
