Devil in Disguise

I received a bitter email from the editor-in-chief of a magazine after I photographed this series.

He said my photos are normally good, but now I'd completely lost my way. You can't do something like that: White lingerie in nature. That would be a terrible break in style.

The email totally disturbed me and I thought to myself that I had definitely polarized with my set. And that's a good thing!

A Lace Affair 4k

Being able to photograph sets with daylight is my favorite thing. Especially now in winter, when that's not possible in Germany.

The time I spent with Effy in Tenerife was great. I bring a little bit of sunshine with the pictures and wish you all a Merry Christmas!

Forever Twenty-Two

A 22-year-old young woman writes to me and asks if I would like to photograph her while she is in Frankfurt. I take a look at her pictures and don't have to hesitate for a second, because I immediately see her potential.

Ariel is still one of my absolute favorite models today. Such a great woman. Professional and in character. Simply great.

An English party cellar, which is almost a small in-house pub, was a really nice location. For one picture, Amy made me think of Heidi Klum and that her breasts are called Hans and Franz. I can't get that out of my head.

This was a spontaneous shoot with Thanni and I especially like the colors. Thanni is a German playmate and we met at a Playboy party and she told me she always wanted to work with me. So we did.

Marketa

There was this point where I couldn't get any further with my photography. I wanted to get better, but I didn't know how. That's when I had the idea to book one of the best models in the world. It sounds a bit exaggerated now, but if you typed the word Marketa into Google in 2009, you got to see her directly.

It took a whole year (!) until she answered my request, but in the end it worked out. I flew her in to Frankfurt and had a great shoot with her. Phot...

Crazy Horse

Siwar has a wonderful charisma. She casts a spell over you, which is something you can't say about every woman. And that, although she is shy and reserved.

Her haircut reminded me of the dancers from Crazy Horse and so I absolutely had to put her in expensive underwear.

Bullseye Bonus

I met Paulina while working on my last coffee table book and although I'm not into tattoos at all for me personally, it's always fun to work with her.

She has this natural, coy way about her. She's a person you just have to love. Even if she finds me too serious.

Enchanted

I like to work with models that are not mainstream. The radical haircut of Roarie has inspired me directly.

But her real talent is that she dives into a role. And so our shoot was very different than usual. I gave her a briefing and described to her what I would like to photograph. After that she dived down and moved incessantly. She was unresponsive and I chased after her with the camera.

Born to be wild

Working with a motor bike is always cool. I discovered this lost place in Mallorca and so I photographed Kate there. These images were for my last book.

Dancing on Moonbeams

With this clip, it's easier to understand why I gave my photo series this title. It was dark outside as if only the moon was shining and Margoreett is quite an outgoing dancer (which is very rare for models).

Although I have photographed in the desert more often, I am always amazed at how difficult it is with strong winds and extreme sunshine. 

But every sunburn and peeling is worth it.

I felt very privileged to be able to photograph in this great loft. I rented it normally and worked there with permission. But it was just a very special place. Terez was very nice and the shoot with her was a pleasure.

Tired of being good

There is always a point in life where you're tired of being good. Svitlana had been a runway model and now she wanted to shoot nudes. Excellent choice, especially when you have such perfect boobs. 

Endorphinated Bonus

That's when I discovered working with natural light for myself. So what did I need? A room with a large window. I found that in Vienna, and Christiane also happened to live there. So it was a perfect match. And a perfect day for me.

This is an artistic series that I always wanted to try. I like to work with mirrors but I have to admit, in bright sunlight, they are quite challenging. 

Nightshift

Saya is a charming model. She feels the sensuality that she radiates and that excited me from the beginning.

During the shoot with her, my flash broke. It was an expensive flash from Profoto and I was pretty pissed off that such a part suddenly breaks.

Nothing to do: I had to shoot with natural light with my backup camera. Because my Phase One, which I was unfortunately using at the time, couldn't take pictures in the dark at all.

Nine to Five

At that time I had my own photo studio in Frankfurt and my photography was more conceptual. I tried myself out. And so I had this crazy idea to artistically recreate an abstract office.

The office series "Nine to Five" was one of my many office series. I bought vinyl stockings for it from the expensive fetish supply. Working with those things is a huge pain in the ass.

Me, myself and You

Melisa Mendini in the bedroom. Photographed with my medium format camera, so I was a little more busy with the equipment than I would like. I'm glad I don't have that camera anymore. I don't have to say anything about Melisa: a dream ass and a great woman. She got the very special shoes in Italy. In this country it is not so easy to find high heels in size 35.

Mini Quartets 2023

I'll be on the road in December. Not quite as cool as Manfred Krug in the TV series, but hopefully just as successful.

Anyway, that's why I decided back in November to continue my tradition and offer the world's smallest works of art as quartets now.
