And by rough i mean rough. Does the concept come across through the scribbles? Also attaching the really elegant phone scribbles I made at 3 am whilst trying to sleep, because of course thats when my brain starts working. Got up in the morning and fleshed it out a bit further on my tablet.

I've wanted to draw Raihn from The Serpent and the Wings of Night on his own for ages, but it never felt right. Funny how only a few days after posting the commission of him and Oraya, it suddenly felt right!
Just a nice portrait this time - they were my speciality for many years and every now and then I like going back to it. It almost feels like a palate cleanser.

Rough render time!
...okay, fine, I've spent a fair amount of time polishing that upper arm already. so maybe not equally rough everywhere. but can you blame me?

and once again I've spent way too long trying to figure out what the heck im drawing. Usually, coloring is the easiest part for me! This is why you always always make a sketch with the background in mind - don't be like me, don't add it later. When I tell you I STRUGGLED with this. Environments/backgrounds continue to be my Achilles heel as it just doesn't tickle me in the same way that painting a face and body does.

It's finally time.
This was a very chaotic start, my roughs are usually a bit more tidy than this. But I didn't quiiiite have the pose nailed in my head and I had to keep it nice and loose to sort of "hone in" on it later.

I've been bad at keeping my Patreon updated with my Halsin wips, but that changes now.
Gaia (my tav) has the biggest body type, which means although Halsin was big he was still relatively level with her. Now that I'm drawing him next to Shadowheart I realise just how fucking big he is hahaha. I had a look in game and the top of her head reaches his shoulders, just about. Wow.
