George Kaplan & The Editors Live 2003 Part 1 (Something for Kate secret show)

In November 2003, Something for Kate played a secret club show under the name 'George Kaplan & The Editors' at Melbourne's legendary Prince of Wales Bandroom to warm up for the coming summer festival season. This show was recorded and filmed at the time but has never been seen or heard until now - 20 years later.

'Losing My Mind' (Solo Acoustic) - The Jorge, Brisbane, 2003

And while we are digging out live versions of rare tracks, here is a version of 'Losing My Mind' filmed in 2003 at a special launch event for 'The Official Fiction'.

Paul played this exclusive intimate solo performance at a small Brisbane venue called The Jorge for a lucky group of competition winners the week that the band's fourth album, 'The Official Fiction' was released.

'Losing My Mind' originally appeared as a B-side on the 'Deja Vu' single.

Live versions of 'Faster' are about as rare as hen's teeth so we're excited to share with you this version we recently discovered from a show at Melbourne's Forum Theatre back in 2004.

This song originally appeared as a B-side on the 'Song For A Sleepwalker' single and was later featured on the 'Phantom Limbs' double album of rarities.

As the band gears up to celebrate 25 years since 'Elsewhere For Eight Minutes' was released, here is a surprise find from deep in the SFK archives!

This performance of 'Like Bankrobbers' was captured at The Forum Theatre in August 2001 during the Echola-la-lia Tour. 

The band are very excited to play 'Elsewhere For Eight Minutes'' in full (as a three-piece!) at a few select shows around the country next month.

Here's a bit of Friday fun for you - A recently unearthed bootleg of Paul Dempsey and his red hot backing band (Pat Bourke, Olivia Bartley, Adrian Stoyles and Shannon Vanderwert), ripping out a cover of the Fleetwood Mac classic, 'The Chain'.

We don't know exactly what show this was from but it would have been somewhere on the 'Blindspot Tour' of 2017.

The band enjoyed a couple of fantastic nights at Brisbane's Fortitude Music Hall over the weekend and we are happy to share another in our Desk Tape series of rough and ready live recordings!

These recordings are just a direct audio feed from the sound desk so it doesn't sound exactly like it does in the room at the time or exactly like it would if it was carefully recorded and mixed. They are simply intended as a quick document of the band on the road.

Waste Our Breath - Live at the Prince of Wales, January 2021
