Tixati for Android

After nearly a year in that making, there is now a Tixati version for Android!

It is currently only available in raw APK format on the main Tixati web site, but will soon be on the main app stores. So far, it seems to run very well on all devices.

The Android version is a bit more simple than the desktop version for now. Channels, RSS, and IP Filter are missing, but will be added soon. The main issue has been making all these things usable on small screens. But it will get don...

April Development Update

A new Tixati version 3.17 has been posted, and a new Fopnu update is on the way too!

Over the past month, I've been working on upgrading the GUI framework that powers all four of my programs.  This was long overdue.

On the Linux side, the move from GTK2 to GTK3 is nearly complete.  This is a very important step, because some distros such as RHEL will be dropping support for GTK2 soon.  Also, GTK3 has better support for high-DPI displays and a few other worth-while u...

New Tixati 3.16 finally released

After a few months of hard work, I have released a brand-new Tixati, version 3.16.

This new release has numerous improvements, with the major ones being a new automatic download queue management system, and a new WYSIWYG editor for channel info and shared data.

The new automatic download queue manager deals with unresolved hash-links much much better than the previous versions.  It will actively free up needed download slots by re-queuing dead hash-links to the front o...

New Tixati release and a development update

Tixati v3.12 was released last night.  This comes on the heels of the major v3.11 upgrade a few weeks ago.  Now that there has been time to observe and get feedback from the users, I've been able to put together this release which cleans up a few bugs and adds several nice refinements.  See https://tixati.com/news for the full list of changes.

Earlier this week, I also released a major update to Fopnu, which,...

Tixati v3.11 completed

Finally the new version is done.  It's available on the Tixati web site as usual.

There have been a massive amount of improvements in all areas of the program.  BitTorrent v2 has been implemented.  A new tracker presets feature makes bulk-management of torrents easier.  A new seed creator has been added.  Countless other fixes and improvements throughout.  All the details are posted on the Tixati news page.

Next will probably be a Fopnu and DarkMX upd...

Development Update - May 10, 2022

I have spent the last 3 weeks working on a BitTorrent v2 implementation for Tixati.  Even though BEP 52 is still in draft status and bit rough around the edges, it is still worth taking the time to implement now so we can eventually get away from SHA1 hashing in favor of SHA2.

Unfortunately, due to some fundamental changes required to make dual-protocol torrents, this is a complex job.  There are also changes to some magnet link formats to support the newer hash IDs, which has...

Next up: DarkMX

I will have a new DarkMX release ready by the end of this week if everything goes well.

There are many bug-fixes on this one, I have gone over it with a fine-tooth comb.  Many of the improvements to the framework that were introduced into Tixati are now integrated into DarkMX, like a new rich-text control (which is much faster on large texts) and better text and image processing for Network / Chat room information.

On a new app like DarkMX (only one year old) there will be a ...

First Post on Patreon

We've been using Crypto and PayPal for years to fund Tixati and the other projects, but due to popular demand I've finally setup a Patreon account.  Some users were having difficulty with the other methods, so we shall try this and see how it goes.

Development continues...
