I test the new studio setup, that I've spend this day making!
I've also simplified and tuned my software setup, and I'm really excited about the new workflow that I've crafted. Hopefully this'll result in many great videos being made :)

With this video I'm starting a new "season" of my video-making activity.
I've had plenty of time with the unfa vlog series to learn some lessons, and I've decided it's time to implement some changes.
As I've been preparing the necessary changes while making this video - it took me three weeks to make. From scripting, redrafting, test recording, shooting video, editing, adding b-roll, animations, sound effects.

In this third (and final) video about Wolf Shaper I focus on sound design.
Since this video is over 40 minutes long I've made detailed timestamps to make it easier to navigate it.
Usually I'd make a coherent piece of music, but I wanted to focus on sound design and not waste time on composing music, so this video is an outlier in that regard.
Anyway - it was really fun to make, and I hope it'll be fun and inspiring to watch!

I've just revamped the Tiers. They are purely for fun right now, as all patrons get the same rewards right now.
Patreon doesn't update that automatically (probably becasue that'd result in creators needing to re-send all rewards), so if you want to make it update your Tier based on your pledge - you can cancel your pledge and add it again, I think it should work.
(correct me if I'm wrong).

One thing I've been silently wishing to see emerging from the open-source audio community was an LV2 waveshaper plug-in that I could use to define custom distortion curves. There were bits and pieces of something like that around, but always locked inside of a package, that couldn't be used universally across multiple DAWs. Not any more.
A few months back I was contacted by a stranger, who told me he has made such a plug-in.

I see a lot of confusion about this. Ardour and Zyn-Fusion are both fully open-source, but the official binaries are not free of charge. Ardour gives you full access for as little as $1/mo of PayPal subscription, while Zyn-Fusion binaries cost a minimum amount of $45 (+ VAT).
For the time being the only alternative for the less wealthy among us was to try and build these from source. But that's not a trivial task and may require lots of research, trial and error.

It's been a month since I uploaded my last video. A busy month. Unfortunately - I didn't manage to do much regarding videos, but I've moved to a new flat (with a new, separate home studio room!) and I am getting married in less than 4 weeks now - so you can probably imagine.
