Added 2016-11-01 23:50:17 +0000 UTCSo if you ever wondered how we host our booru's then take a look at the back of our rack at the datacenter. Many cables make a mess but we try to tidy it as much as possible! Not sure if there is any interest in this kinda stuff but meh, here you go.

Yeah i just rent a rack and place my own hardware in it. Its a lot cheaper in the long run then renting dedicated servers. I got tons of space, thus the inefficient stacking of servers. By not having them touch each other it lowers the heating by a few degrees ;)

2016-11-03 02:35:57 +0000 UTCImpressive! And you do your own. I don't know anything more but how to physically fasten servers in such rack cabinets. But I have helped with what I can, for the huge and growing server room at VCU, where numbers are crunched for the biological sciences
