So, back in the day, I used to host/produce a little series called EPIC HOW TO. We covered a bunch of topics from HOW TO BE A HACKER to HOW TO FIGHT A SHARK... and WIN!
Anyways, I recently was gifted with the opportunity to do another episode...AND we got the original animator back... you may know him... ANDY MOGREN!
Hopefully we can do more of these in the future. They're just fun. And ya learn a little something. Anyways, please give it a watch and I hope you enjoy!

Honestly, most of my personality is built off various things I remember from some documentary I probably watched like six years ago. I'm a millennial. Deal with it. Some of my personality is remnants from books I've read, but let's be honest, books are just documentaries for people with too much time on their hands. And when it comes to time, ain't nobody got time for it, I always say.

This video is about climate change, a subject I know so little about that it feels guilty to even include in the title. However, as an influencer, it's my job to shed light on things I kinda sorta saw and was like "Oh wow okay." Most of the time this is relegated to hot vacation destination spots or, like, fitness teas, but not for me. For me, I'm going to take my limited knowledge about a subject and combine it with a sudden existential panic about the persistent destruction of the planet and try to draw a parallel to a dead guy I was reading about the other week. Like and subscribe, double tap.
Really, this video is a confession about my own apathy in the face of an inconceivable threat, as well as the silliness of what it takes to get people to care about things they can't directly see or aren't directly affected by, kinda like how some people don't accept they're broken up with until they see their ex with a new partner. We're visual creatures, and apparently highly capable of self-delusion-- at least that's what I tell myself, but who could trust him?
I hope you're enjoying these little one-off videos! Let me know what you think in the comments if you're just chillin' on a Wednesday. In the meantime, shoutout to Copernicus, I'm like not even afraid to say that. Copernicus, you look like every guy I stop next to in traffic.

Y'all, what the heck even?
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you guys for helping us make the Movie Movie Game Kickstarter a massive success immediately. It took literally eight minutes to reach our goal, and now we're in yet another beautifully Dazed and Confused moment that is a direct result of our incredible community. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
The truth is, imho, Movie Movie Game is the kind of idea that deserves a massive amount of success. The launch of the Kickstarter, for me, showcased what can happen when every member of a team works together alongside their audience. From the badass trailer Kevin edited together, to the smooth and sexy livestream Steve orchestrated, to the mock-ups and literal banners Ryan Farroki provided for us, and finally to, of course, Joe creating an undeniable game that we believe has very real legs. It couldn't be going any better, literally or symbolically, and I really believe that's a testament to the magic that's still in store from The Valleyfolk.

Speaking of stores, look forward later this week to a merch sale, which we'll have discount codes for and provided to you later in the week. The Valleycast will be up tomorrow, as well, for all patrons-- after we record it in like an hour. As for the Kickstarter, we've also added a tier that allows people to choose which expansion set they would like in addition to the standard game. An update has been posted about it if you were among those asking for the tier. There will also be a new Hey Elliott's Talking video on Wednesday, so stay tuned for that hot hunk of content.
Now, the weekend is over, and it's time to put the celebration on hold so we can focus on growing this thing. Ideas are already piling in for our next game, and it all smells like a fresh new direction after a very stale year. We're looking forward to going on this journey with you, which is JUST BEGINNING, so buckle your dang stinking seatbelts and don't forget to turn your cell phones off during the movie. There's popcorn in the lobby.

SURPRISE, Y'ALL!
Welcome to 2020, where the bar for high-budget documentary series has been raised to the point of no return. Can we ever go back to the time before Tiger King? No, and that's a new normal I can get behind. The Vow, from HBO, is about a cult BY stupid people, FOR stupid people, and I do not know how I'm not supposed to find it all very funny.
This video is the first in a series I'll be posting exclusively here on Patreon. Now, I have a confession to make: I'm too kind to The Vow in this video. I finished the series this past Sunday, when the finale aired, and since then it's become clear that I'm not alone in insensitively mocking some of the dorkier elements of this Very Serious Story. Have you guys watched it? It's basically a how-to guide for sociopaths, and it indirectly shows how easy it is to just target frickin' LA peoplee. The ways in which the cult's leader, Keith Raniere, hooks his prey is through some weird mix of negging, pop psychology, and actual basic truths that are spoken as though they're unique to him. "Fear keeps us from achieving things." Wow, cool, thanks, Keith, you evil, evil dork. You gonna brand me now? Dork.
Anyway, I don't know what this series is. I know that this video is about The Vow, and I know there's one on Lindsay Graham, that champion, and there's another on climate change, just because I like to keep things sexy. Tomorrow I'm filming one that's just a letter to my past self, so these are gonna be all over the place, whatever I wanna talk about, and they're just for YOU GUYS here on Patreon. My MO moving forward is to use this Patreon as a safe place to talk about whatever the heck I wanna DANG IT and I hope we can have some fun chats about it moving forward.
In conclusion, The Vow is a terrible documentary series and I recommend avoiding it at all costs. Like a cult itself, it will suck you in, and just when you think you're in control, you realize you can't get out, and then you feel like the one being permanently branded by the blazing hot iron of mediocrity. Also they kinda made the evil dude less evil than he was for some reason? Maybe money? Screw The Vow, screw Keith Raniere, and most of all, screw me for being duped by the allure of yet another documentary series. Who's the fool, you know? The fool, or the fool who watches all nine episodes of these fools?
If you wouldn't mind, please let me know what you think of these little videos. I hope they help take your mind off whatever stress you have going on, but if they don't, maybe you should try bloodletting? Also, can you think of a time you found something... funny... that maybe... you... shouldn't... find funny? Heh!
New video next week! They'll get better, too! You can practically see the dust falling off me since it's been so longed since I talked to a camera. Anyway, who am I kidding, this is art and it's perfect.

Hey, y'all! Hope you're having a great week! Gonna be recording a new Valleycast soon, but in the meantime, Peter Rollins and I are back with a new episode of The Fundamentalists. Finally! In this episode, we talk about sacrifice, and about what that means in today's world. It's a good (no-- GREAT) episode, especially since Pete and I haven't gotten to hang in a bit. I think you'll enjoy this episode (audio should be available on Spotify and iTunes shortly).
Friendly reminder that full versions of The Fundamentalists are available on The Valleycast channel, and also: just sayin', maybe keep an eye on this podcast. It's about to take some weird directions, and I can't wait to tell y'all more about it. Big things. Heh heh! Muahaha! Eeeeh...
Now, let's all hold hands and have a lovely week together. Hope you're enjoying your Monday and not feeling too overwhelmed!

Friends, patrons, Jellicle cats! I’ve been hinting at this for a while, and now it’s finally happening! Cats the RPG will premiere on The Valleyfolk channel starting Monday with the finale airing on Friday. So to be clear, FIVE EPISODES of the Cats RPG will be posted every day this week instead of Your Show, and the Friday sketch video. So you’ll get an entire week of this insane Dungeons and Dragons style Role Playing Game, featuring Valleyfolk pals and new faces! It’s going to be very insane and very fun, I’ve spent the past 3 weeks making sure this thing works and is funny and also entertaining! With the help of SourceFedNERD editor Drew Coombs, this thing is going to be quite an adventure! Get ready for the most JELLICLE adventure since Cats was in theaters like 4 months ago!
Love,

Hello. Hi. How are ya? Good day
Hope laughter and light have been coming your way
And you bask in small moments of joy and of play
'Cause YOU GOT THIS
Sadness and anger and fear have their say
Listen and learn from their words, it's okay
We're all holding court with the black and the gray
But YOU GOT THIS
Everyone else seems so far and away
But together we stand in the now of today
Bound tighter and wiser after the fray
WE GOT THIS

Keep your heads up, your hearts full and your helping-hands active. Hope your week has been manageable and hopeful. If not, YOU GOT THIS. If you need a distraction, we got you. Here's some laughter from our week at The Valleyfolk.

Hey Patrons, I'm gonna attempt to do weekly recaps again. I post these on YouTube's community page in an attempt to usher our vids to those the Sub-box neglected and lied to, but I figure they contain enough information that perhaps they belong here to. Let me know if this is something you'd like me to continue here! Thanks and here it is:
Hello friends. I hope, from the gooiest depths of my heart, that you and yours are finding health and safety and moments of laughter and light as we navigate this nightmare together. I know the weights of anxiety and fear and uncertainty are teaming up to create a mighty load to bear, but guess what... YOU GOT THIS! I know you do. And if you don't right now, that's okay, because at some point, YOU WILL. You're more unbreakable than you give yourself credit. Sure, some cracks and fissures might have blasted open but that's just LIFE PHYSICS, baby! Those gaps are going to fill up with the warm juice that is your fortitude and courage and eventually solidify, making you whole again. And you'll be stronger and wiser and will have cool fissure-tracks running up and down your dope body, making you look like a sexy video game sub-boss. YOU. GOT. THIS.
And I GOT THIS- The return of the weekly recap. We've been attempting to continue to operate at as close to full-steam as possible to help you get through it all with some dumb distractions. The return of Your Show (and our move to try and get ahead on shoots) has allowed us to do so. Here is a recap of this week's dumb.
DEAR HANK AND JOHN: The Truth About the Green Brothers
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jt5YfLTI5u4
These two frauds have been gallivanting through the slender wheat stalks swaying upon the open plains of YouTube and the Literature world unchecked for far too long. Finally, a courageous soul by the name of CHET GREEN, has emerged from the shadows to bequeath knowledge to the masses. Listen to Chet as he spits truth about the sinister workings fueling the Green Empire.
WE MADE THE WORST WOULD YOU RATHER | Your Show
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=juzMRJpEySM
It's a simple, disturbing question that I won't repeat here. But it did find conception deep within my thought-pockets and that has me all sorts of worried. Elliott and Steve's improv at the end of this journey is a BEST OF moment in this new era of Your Show.
THE HOT SPAGHETTI SONG | Your Show
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AKEmd8L-LSs
I don’t think we stumbled upon a new game for when we answer prompts- SINGING ROUNDS. We don't know what the questions are or where they will go, but there is one rule: Ya gots to sing. The story is real, the pain it burned, and the song is... a song? ALSO... Elliott's got a sexy elbow, right? Like... damn.
The I'M GLAD I'M NOT THAT KID Story | Your Show
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VXt2BUyw1DI
Sometimes new experiences fill us to our bodily-brims with TOO MUCH inside stuff. And sometimes that stuff spews forth in a glorious release that you'd rather forget, but sometimes, that story is recounted on an internet show for the whole world to experience anew. Annnnnnnd.... OWL PLANE.
Las Vegas LIFE HACKS | Your Show
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1KGYP2Nrwzo
Sure, we wax about how to enjoy Vegas without dying... but more importantly... the THREE FOUR Song fell out of our mouth-holes on this episode.
And to round it out -
GRACE and ELLIOTT on THE VALLEYCAST
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sed8b5qAD6w
STEVE'S Continued Adventures in ANIMAL CROSSING
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fW4rU8DpJMY
Whew! That's a lot. I hope you enjoy these tiny distractions and that they gift you with a laugh or two. Big shout outs to our small but mighty team that keeps the wheels turning here at the VF with all their editing and hard work. Much love to Kevin, Kait, Ryan and Andy!
Wishing you all nothing but the good stuff,
Joe

Hello, Citizens of the Valley!
Elliott here.
Boy, we picked a heck of a week to return full-force! After months of filming and preparation, we unleashed a torrent of content last week that was incredibly well-received. While our views are down, our hearts are full, and we literally owe it all to you, our patrons. So, on behalf of everyone here (figuratively, that is, as I’m the only one in the office right now besides this Tom Hanks cutout that keeps coughing on me), THANK YOU. I know a lot of “thank yous” can sound like lip service, but the reality is that this is a dream job, and having your support has enabled us to continue to take risks and “go for it.” And that was before all this uncertainty, which has only cemented how fortunate we feel to be able to do what we do. So again, thank you.
The Valleyfolk was created out of trust-- trust that we, as a group of weirdos, could support one another creatively and emotionally, and trust that our audience would come along for the ride. Well, you not only came along for the ride-- you jumped in the front seat with a fresh Gatorade and a spoonful of peanut butter. In doing so, you turned this pipe dream into an actual community. How dare you.
Over the past year, I’ve started thinking of the relationship between The Valleyfolk and our patrons as a transparent iceberg, in which what you see is raw and honest, but not necessarily exhaustive of everything that’s going on. If we were just “YouTubers,” we might show you the whole thing. But we take the job of creating an escape for people very seriously. Maybe too seriously, which is very comedian of us. Still, certain times call for certain measures, so I want to try to offer a bit more transparency now in terms of where we’re at mentally. There are far bigger concerns in the world right now, so please take care of yourself and be responsible. This is only meant to be an update, with a little more bluntness than usual, so we can touch base while we’re all weathering this insanity. Also, this from my perspective, so I don’t know how much it’ll align with Steve and Joe, but they’re not here right now, so this is about me, bitches.
The first thing I want to say is that Joe and Steve are killing it right now. Whether it’s writing, production, brainstorming, administrative, whatever, recent times have brought out the best of them in many ways. I can’t necessarily say the same for me, but I think I’m finally getting there. To be frank, I’ve been operating with a low-grade depression, which is especially frustrating from a creative standpoint. Joe and Steve have, as well, but we’ve all handled this a bit differently. Self-doubt and timidity are very real monsters for us right now, as I’m sure you’ve picked up on, but we’re fighting our butts off and that feels incredible. In my opinion, we’re winning. I’ve always felt like we are an eight-cylinder Ferrari that’s driving with only six, and a global pandemic doesn’t exactly help that. But all of the anxiety is manageable when you’re grounded in the belief that you’ve got something, whatever it may be, to offer. In short, yes, I’m scared that this could all go away, but you know what? I’ve bet a lot in my life on the idea that painful decisions-- the ones that scare you to death, the ones people may not fully understand-- cause the most growth. What form that growth takes remains to be seen, but I’m personally excited to find out, and for that, thank you. It’s not about the money, nor has it ever been. It’s what it represents, which is a weird, slightly demented version of faith-- one that we all share. So as we say in the south, bless your heart, honey.
Now, some updates (and please staple a big AS OF RIGHT NOW on these things…):
The Schedule: Our new posting schedule is rad as heck, and it won’t be changing. So if you’re at home and bored, we’re here with all sorts of stupidity sure to lower your IQ. We’re like hand sanitizer for your brain, just not nearly as expensive. However, we are not filming new stuff this week, and we are instead focusing on writing weirder, more ambitious projects, while Kevin and Kait edit from home. This is basically a reshuffling of our normal flow, with emphasis on pre-production and post-production over, you know, sneezing on each other. In the end, I think this period will result in the best stuff The Valleyfolk has made thus far. And if ever there was a group of dudes who should stay at home for public safety, it’s our nasty butts.
The Business: As we’ve hinted at recently, we’re in the process of making the biggest moves we’ve ever made here at The Valleyfolk. Do you play roulette? I play a lot of electronic roulette, because I’m so cool or whatever, and The Valleyfolk is putting it all on black right now, so to speak. The only difference is we’re approaching things with wisdom and passion, not fear or self-preservation. And it feels really awesome. I’ve never been prouder of this thing, and that’s saying something, because I’m lowkey proud af of The Valleyfolk-- and that’s including the painful stuff, the missteps, all of it. We are a beautiful mess, and I’d have it no other way.
The Creative: For those who might think The Valleyfolk is now ONLY short-form Your Show videos, rest assured, it’s the opposite. I’m writing some weird stuff right now that I think you guys are going to really resonate with-- or at least be entertained by, who knows. Joe’s coming up with quarantine-friendly sketches that are silly and weird and he keeps texting me to read it and YEAH I WILL JOE I’M WRITING A PATREON POST RIGHT NOW, and Steve has been churning out more gold lately than frankly I’m comfortable with. Someone stop that man. We’ve set ourselves up to be able to showcase our skills in all new ways, and no stupid virus is gonna stop us from contaminating the world with our hearts and souls and farts.
So to wrap this thing up, we’re going to continue to be here creating and uploading content through this time, while making sure our employees are safe at home. We’re not petering out or hiding behind our uncertainty, nor are we allowing ourselves to be dictated by views, vitriol, or viruses… if only alliteration killed germs. Anyway, we hope you all are doing well, and that you enjoyed today’s Your Show, which is right here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d16YVmLdbD0
See you REAL soon.
With horniness,
Elliott Morgan (of The Valleyfolk)

Hello friends, it's your pal Steve here! Just wanted to share with you guys that the latest Santa Steve video is UP and ready for you viewing pleasure! Or displeasure!
This one's a little different if you've watched it already, and I'm very proud of how it turned out. Kevin and I tag-teamed the edit, I cut the beginning and he cut the *SPOILERS* Santa on the Street stuff. It was rough for me trying to lock down an idea for this one, as it's like the 6th one I've done. I won't lie, I was feeling fatigue at the thought of making one this year. Sitting in that chair for HOURS while a constant flow of people come in, crushing my lap, ME doing my best to be funny, and tow the line between "too much" and "just enough", to hope some of the footage works. It's not easy, especially when there's a crowd watching me from behind the camera, waiting for a big moment, with slight worry about where I'll go with a bit. It's simultaneously the most fun, and the most work.
Anyway, I'll save all the BTS stuff for one of my 12 podcasts or something, but this year it was really fun to do something new and refreshing with the old goat, and it looks like you guys are enjoying it, so I'm very pleased. Thank you to everyone who supports us here so we can keep making these things. Truly, thank you.
P.S. While I was coming up with ideas for what to do with this one, I had an INSANE idea for something we can try to do with Santa next year (if we make it!!!!) that has me so excited for the potential I'm already writing a ton of ideas down. And I've NEVER done that with Santa Steve. I really, really hope we get to it!!!
Best, Love, Happy Holidays and...
MMMMMHMMMMMMM Patrons!

We were planning to go live today, but alas, our main man Mr. Plachy was infiltrated by a bit of a bug (give him love... send him gifs of old ladies dancing without any context that you know he's sick). As such, we're not rushing him or the product. And to further such the as suchiness of the situation, we're making the call to give sloppy birth to the episode tomorrow, so it's at it's 100% bestiness. HOWEVER, we're trying to improve here on our end for you on your end, so please enjoy this little teaser showcasing our couch antics with WHITNEY MOORE and our Movie Movie Game shenanigans with ANTHONY CARBONI. Also, tease within a tease... a double tease with cheese... there is a THIRD secret special guest that drops by in this episode so bring an extra pair of pants, ya animals.
Merry Friday,
Joe

We’re going to be shooting a special Xmas episode of Your Show TOMORROW and we need your holiday themed prompts! Just post your questions, scenarios, dares, well wishes, regular wishes, Christmas wishes, and more, here! We’ll harvest them like young winter plums, careful not to bruise, and serve them up chilled with a side of yellow gravy and a hot glass of sparrow milk! Mmm!
ALSO: there will be A LOT of secret special guests popping in! I’ve been coordinating with regulars and some NEW FACES to join us on the couch for a fun, experiment of holiday cheer! So ready your guest themed prompts too if you wanna!
THANK YOU ALL! And MARY HOLLERDAISE!
Love,
Stee

Wow! WHAT A WEEK!
Hello, all, and I know we say this all the time but now it feels especially appropriate: thank you for being here! Thanks to those who’ve stuck with this Crazy Train as it veered almost completely off its tracks, and thanks to those who jumped off and then back on when you realized the conductors hadn’t actually lost their dang minds! “Vroom vroom, here comes the train wreck!” we once said when The Valleyfolk first launched, and here we are. #WreKd
There’s not a lot to say about the events of last week that has not already been said, but I tend to be pretty long-winded, so please indulge my rambling for a second. First of all, y’all, Kevin and Kait deserve all the good things in life. They both handled the good and the bad stuff last week with patience, maturity, and elegance, all while dealing with their own personal shtuff (that’s short for “sh*t stuff”). We’re so lucky to have them, and walking into the office on Monday last week, we all hugged each other, cried a little, and like, leaned on one another? I don’t know. It’s sappy and weird to talk about but it meant a lot.
The final thing I want to say is that we’re all handling this in our own ways, and that includes you all, me, Joe, Steve, Lee, everyone. Everyone is doing their best, but sometimes people’s “best” kinda sucks in certain ways. Or it’s painful. Or it’s sloppy. So, on behalf of all of us here at The Valleyfolk, thank you for believing in us, and if you’ve decided to no longer be a subscriber, patron, follower, fan, etc: That’s okay, too. We are working on getting refunds to anyone who’s asked for them, and we are slowly making our way through your messages on here-- most of which are incredibly kind and thank you for that. For those on the fence, all I’ll say is: we got this. There is a fire under our flat, hairy butts now that is already resulting in some of the best stuff we’ve ever done, even as we all move forward at our own speeds.
SO! Let’s all hold hands and support one another as we walk into the future, because the future is bright, so bright Steve is still wearing his sunglasses. Here’s what we are working on:
In short, we’re getting back to work and looking ahead, and we hope you can come along for the ride. We’ll try to swerve the train a little less in the future, and we’re gonna start by not leaning so heavily into this metaphor.
See ya soon!

Thank you to those who are still with us, and nothing but love and understanding to those who are hurt by our screw-up.
We love you, and we respect you, and we aren’t going anywhere.
