Just an update about the live streaming schedule. I've been bunkered down in front of the computer the last week finishing a DVD project that's been ongoing for 2 years. This month's Postcard Club selection
SANJA MATSURI! This is one of Tokyo's big 3 Shinto festivals and definitely the craziest!
This shot is from the steps on Sensoji Temple looking down on a full crowd all the way to Kaminarimon "Thunder" Gate. I brought out the colors of the OMIKOSHI portable shrine slightly to highlight its significance within the crowd. I took this 4 years ago with a Panasonic GH4 camera. I hope you like it! Just caught ya!!! 🤣 — on the Shinkansen! As @PurpleBandit79 was looking for me at the Yaesu Central Exit, when she found me, there was only 8 min left to catch the train. Yours truly is a master at rushing to catch trains! We could buy an ekiben, find the right car and even snap this photo! Thank you for being brave and traveling Japan by yourself!! You did it! So much history passed — it was sad and happy and it felt like New Year but BIGGER when it happened. We in Japan didn’t just think about the last 365 days but the last 30 years and 116 days ... it was about our lives and a generation. Pretty deep. Good bye Heisei. Welcome Reiwa.
