I used to play Dance Dance Revolution. If you haven't heard of it, it's a video game where you dance to cool music that was exciting and fun.

This is what this song reminds me of! I had almost too much of a good time listening to this one that it took me a second to think about musical things to talk about.

If you like ADO is any capacity, you should check this out!

BAND-MAID - Sayonakidori (REVISTED, Tokyo Garden Theater 2023 + Instrumental)

I am a completionist. I must finish what I started and I just realized that Sayonakidori was on the Unseen World instrumental CD. That means I have the score as well which means I can really dive into the msuical genius that is BAND-MAID.

I promise once I am done with this disc, we will move on to other things, but I really want to share this journey with all of you!

Jethro Tull - God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen

I couldn't resist. I saw the name. I saw the holiday album. I had to react.

I had no idea that Jethro Tull had a Christmas album before today and man oh man, was I excited to check this out!

Needless to say, I was not disappointed with the performance. I just think it's funny that my perception of this band feels more of a blues/jazz band vs a rock band, but it could be the only songs I have been exposed to by them.

Ayreon - The Day That The World Breaks Down

I wasn't sure what was going to go down when I chose this reaction, but man it was so worth it!

This is what I would consider a progressive rock opera. The most interesting thing about this reaction was the music was solely composed and mostly (but not all) performed by the creator. I was so impressed by the use of major and minor tonalities as well as changes in style and feel.

I really hope you check this one out. It is worth listening to a galactic, futuristic, bluesy, progres...

This song was written what seems like a response to some flack given to Maximum the Ryokun for taking his declining health into his own hands and making some healthy changes in his life.

No one's body is a topic of discussion, EVER! ...and this is how you respond to those who don't want to see you succeed.

I know...I did "After Life" a long time ago, but I didn't have the instrumental album yet in my posession to experience the music at it's fullest potential.

Also, the new "Epic Narratives, Day of Maid 2024" concert has a live performance that I haven't had a chance to check out and this was the perfect opportunity!

Sabaton - Christmas Truce

I remember learning about this in school at some point and I thought it was one of the most beautiful yet sad moments in history. I may not be a history buff, but there are moments that really bury themselves in your memory and you can't forget it.

Anyway, I really enjoyed the music production here. Orchestra, heavy metal, and a beautiful story with a sad ending. Amazing.

Also, this is the first time I heard of Sabaton, so...yeah. I really like them!

BAND MAID - I still seek revenge (3 way reaction)

This is revenge.

Not only revenge for the heart, but revenge for the musician. The maids killed it in this song! Especially our bass queen MISA!

I was taken by the unison guitar lines and unique use of rhythm. I guess the speed was so fast that I wasn't able to catch the real rhythm. I love finding out what they are actually playing from the score!

Mizuni Ukikusa - シンデレラ(Cinderella)

This one wrapped up my reactions this weekend with a nice bow.

The sound that this band has really makes me feel like I'm entering a renaissance era of my music tastes. It sounds silly since my musical palate is pretty diverse, but this one makes me feel like I moved on from cheap beer to fine wines and cheeses.

There's a level of sophistication about this band and I can really get down with it, but it's still rock! You know what I mean?

...but I had to revisit this one because I didn't have the instrumental album back when I did the reaction and now I had to come back and hear what was lying underneath Saiki's golden pipes, okay?

The fun part is I found some sounds in here that I didn't hear in my first reaction and I really hope you hear something new like I did in this one!

Hatchie - Quicksand

I may have danced through this whole song here. I eventually did talk about the music, but I was having too much fun with my imaginary club dance party that had 80's or 90's television filters on it with my pretend big hair and cute outfit...

...ANYWAY! This is such a cool throwback into the old genre and I get that produced music isn't for everyone, but this is how it should be done. I hope that you enjoy this artist as much as I did!

Faulieu - Yamaigoto (ヨマイゴト)

This band is FIRE! Faulieu was not on my bingo card for bands that I think I could really get into but there is something about their sound and their groove that really bring me to a nice warm fuzzy place in my soul. I really want to delve more into their collection to see what else they have. I hope you enjoy them as much as I did!

BAND-MAID - Forbidden Tale, behind the scenes!

When I got the notification that BAND-MAID had released a behind the scenes of "Forbidden Tale," I knew I had to check it out! It took me a little bit to get to it, but it's never too late!

I really enjoyed seeing the maids play a game of "guess this riff/song." It's funny to watch their reactions as well as their impressions of Saiki.

I hope you enjoy them goofing around as much as I did!

Yvette Young - parachute (acoustic with Covet version!)

I didn't think I was going to have "feelings" when I started listening to this song, but the tone of the guitar and the sound of her voice and then the introduction of the violin sent me over the edge.

Honestly, there is something so simple and pure about this song that really tugs at my heart strings, but makes me happy at the same time. Let me know what you think, but I hope this song brings you the same joy I felt.

This is embarrassing for me, but I have permanently moved into my restroom for the rest of the day. I can't seem to keep anything down.

I know I haven't been feeling great this week. I chalk that up to the traveling with the band, but man...I feel sort of beat up.

I am going to try and see if I can lay down (without feeling sick) and try recording again tomorrow.
