The fact that this song came from a movie that Nightwish made themselves is truly something behold.
I see that the movie has been posted in the discord already so I might have to watch it sometime soon!
This piece is a wonderful mixture of symphonic sounds with metal, thus making the lovely sounds of Symphonic Metal. Nightwish does it again. The words are dark and the way Anette uses her various vocal timbres to create a more haunting experience was really cool to hear!

It was different.
Every.
Single.
Time.
I heard something new each time. I know that both the live performances along with the white room instrumental are all compositionally the same, but DEAR GOD the difference in how their instruments were mic'd up or recorded makes a huge difference.
Both live performances had significant sound output differences. I really enjoyed the most recent version from 2023. The quality was just overall better.

This was a cool experience to see Pau sing and play at the same time. I was super excited to hear them sing in Spanish as well. The context of the song is not a happy one though. They are talking about something they have experienced before and I've been there too.
If you want to learn more about La Malinche, here's a cool animation about it:

Hola amigos!
I have dropped the ball this week. I guess I can say I am getting old. Seeing Lovebites on a Sunday and then going to work on Monday took a lot out of me. I have been tired all week and tried so hard to get some rest, but with marching seaon, football season, homecoming (in Texas, if you know you know), it's been crazy.
This preview is coming later than I wanted it to, but here it is!

Happy Birthday Charles!
You were the comment I read on the video when I looked it up for this reaction! What are the odds?!?
Anyway, I am bummed to hear that Brats is permanantly disbanded. They seemed to have so much potential. Their sound is great and their singer has a punky style of singing. Plus the use of some modern styles like the autotune is pretty neat!
I had fun with this one!

I apologize for this one being so long!
Every. Version. Sounds. DIFFERENT!
The studio version was great as is, but the live version was completely amped up. Live Maid = BEST MAID.
...but yo. That white room. OMG. The clarity of sound and being able to see what the Maids are doing. AKANE'S FOOTWORK! HELLO?!?!
Anyway, I'll let the video do the talking.

This was a treat! I didn't expect both singers to have such soulful voices as well as hearing funky fresh sampling at the beginning. Also the video was enjoyable watching everyone suffer from the heat of the hot sauces.
The food choices were questionable though. Lol
Maybe someday I'll upload my one chip challenge!

Hola amigos!
It's been a interesting week and it's just going to get even more exciting! I am slowly wanting to go down a Beatles rabbit hole, I am going to see LOVEBITES this weekend! It will be my first Japanese band I will see live! I cannot express how EXCITED I am to see them! I am going to try and vlog most of the experience, but I am not a "record the concert" kind of person. I really like to take in the moment as much as possible.
If you are at the concert in the DFW area ...

Sorry for the mistake the first time! Here we go again. I hope you enjoy it!
I didn't know before, but after this video...maybe I know!
This group played this chart and KILLED it. The level of muscianship on the stage was electrifying to watch and listen to. I plan on showing this video to the jazz band at the high school because they have to see this one!
There is so much to learn from how each member remains locked in together trading improv solos back and forth even after...

The purity of technique in every single musician in this video is a sight to be seen.
The fingers grazing across the fretboards with ease and relaxed grip. They all make it seem like playing guitar and bass is no big deal. Like any "Joe Shmoe" of the street could waltz right in and do what they are doing without having any training or skill.
The singer has such a powerful voice. She uses a strong chest voice to belt out notes with ease and strength. It's so cool how she does it a...

I wasn't sure about this one when I saw the title of the song, but I am always up for a surprise or challenge.
I was pleasantly surprised by this group.
A wild bassist who hands out a sick bass line. A drummer who is giving a groove that you can sing for hours. A singer who sings in a "lazy" style making it seem so...cool.
The video is odd, but hey. I am not here to judge that. I am not here to judge anything though. I am just here to talk about what's happening in the mus...

WARNING: I cuss a little much in this video. I got too excited.
I am not a skeptical person usually, but when someone tells me that I should listen to only the instrumentals of a band, I just think...okay, so listen to just the accompaniment? Yeah right...
This is not the case here. Oh no. This isn't accompaniment. This is a compositional work. A masterwork if you wanted to call it that. There is so much going on within these instrumentals that it is a wonder how Saiki doesn't ge...

I am starting to really enjoy K-Rock. There is something about it that makes for such a good fun listen, but just cutesy enough to dip a friend's toe into different languages and styles.
I hihly reccoment this one. It was a fun listen and I cannot wait for more!
It was so odd hearing the lyrics in my head for just a moment when I started watching this instrumental.
...you guys were so right. You can hear so much more! The musical effects that Kanami made! Especially the use of Saiki's voice placed within the song. She's always there!
I had a blast listening and having the opportunity to see what really lies beneath and man, was it so worth.

I learned that a "Queen of the Night" is a flower that nocturnally blooms and wilts before sunrise. How can such a pretty flower have such a sad existence? I guess now's not the time to existential...!
This one is pure beauty. As usual the misxture of traditional and modern instruments makes for a whole other experience, but besides that what truly shines is the style here. The lullaby-esque feel with some a warm embrace by our singer's voice makes for such a lovely experience.
....
Like I've said before, I have heard of this band before, but I never looked into them much. The reason for that is unknown to me. It could be that I was chest deep into college that I didn't have much time for anything other than my studies and classical musical literature.
...needless to say, I was living under a "classical" rock, so much so, that I missed out on this band!
I was very surprised by this band and need to hear more!

98.6 degrees when shooting a music video in a maid costume that is mostly black with a few pieces that are white? Imagine how much heat those costumes held onto. I can only imagine how hot Misa and Saiki felt since they typically wear all black.
It's nice to see behind the scenes. I love watching their band "sisterhood" and how they take care of one another. It makes me want something like this for myself!
I feel like Kanami isn't that afraid of heights She took it like a champ if...

This one made my brain go burrrrrr...!
I tried so hard to cover as much as I possibly could, but I feel like I still missed so much. Honestly this song needs to be broken down by layers. I need everything in layers like a cake. Lol.
Anyway, I tried my best. I feel like I may have to come back to this one again sometime soon with a more detailed outlook on it!
P.S. The acoustic version...HOW CAN IT BE THAT PRETTY?!?!

The Patreon suggestions are moving performances this week.
I was told that this was going to show the "softer" side of Nemophila, and I was not disappointed. This was a beautiful experience and the instrumentation was so well performed. The singing...that sent me over the edge.
This song deserves a beer, a comfy chair and a dark room to listen to it in.

The bass at the beginning of this one just rips into your eardrums into your soul and hopefully keeps reverberating throughout your body during the whole song.
There is so many cool things going on during this. Guitar interjections with bass and guitar unisons and calculated silence.
Plus, the singer has a cool, agressive voice that fits the epicness of the sound being produced. I loved this!
I hope you enjoy this one as much as I did.

Look...not many people make classical instruments look cool.
Apocalyptica does the opposite. I remember when I started playing violin, I toyed with the idea of playing cello, but I didn't want to have to carry a large instrument around with me to performances. Also, violing and flute just make sense together, right?
...anyway, this is proof you can play your favorite rock band's music transcribed to your classical instrument, BUT...if you make it really cool by rolling around on s...
