I think this edited version came out FAR better than the draft. Had to include and record some new thoughts to connect ideas, and it overall flows much more smoothly...I hope. Let me know what y'all think!

The Bojack Episode That Everyone Forgets.

One of my personal favorite episodes of the entire show, and while I know that many enjoy it and appreciate it, there's SO much discussion about "Free Churro" and "View from Halfway Down", that this episode often falls by the wayside. And it doesn't deserve that- there's so many facts that we know and rely on about Bojack and his personality throughout the show, and many of them are shown to us in this episode!

There's so much to unpack about Bojack's psyche revealed through this drug ...

Quick turnaround for the edit on this one! Hope you all enjoy this essay as much I did while I was making it!

Bojack Horseman and the Hollow Apology (Unedited)

Bojack Horseman, as a show, contains a lot of apologizing, making up, and forgiveness. But there's a stark difference between an apology that is truly meant to make amends and show that someone has changed, and an apology simply to keep people close to you to be able to manipulate them again. This show does an amazing job dressing down what apologies work, and what apologies don't, and WHY that is the case.

I do talk about Bojack a lot in this video, but as I said, try not to pin it all...

What Bojack Horseman Says About Hollywood.

Got this edit done in a much faster amount of time (though still a little too long for my taste). Been on a long essay kick, so we'll see if it continues with my next video, although I might be in the mood to go back to our regularly scheduled programming for a bit :)

Hope you all enjoy this video and let me know if you agree in the comments below! We always appreciate your support and engagement!

Butcher, Homelander, & The "Hero Complex"

God, this video...took FOREVER to make. ForEVER! But I am seriously proud of it, even if I spent an absurd amount of time making an "MM is an owl" gag...that I'm not even sure many people will notice. My longest video essay ever, though- and there are many who say this is a typical video essay length (or even usually longer than this) so there may be more of these 40 minute gems to come.

One thing I can promise though: I'll do a better job of getting it out on time. You patrons are luck...

How "Escape From L.A." Plays With Suspense

One of the most traumatic episodes of Bojack, mostly because you can see the writing on the wall the entire episode. It absolutely loves dangling the event that you strongly suspect (but hope with all your heart that it won't) will happen in front of you and playing with your sense of tension and intrigue. A very shocking episode, overall, and they definitely earn the final climax with some incredible buildup and character work on Bojack's part.

Not only that, but it is also just a rema...

Why Guy and Diane Are PERFECT for Each Other.

Really proud of this edit- think it's real well-paced (for once...lol). Upon review, though, noticed that I was messing around alot more than usual in this essay. Doesn't matter so much (I don't think)...just something I noticed. Hopefully this is more coherent!

Why Guy and Diane Were PERFECT For Each Other. (Unedited)

A highly requested video from fans on Youtube, and one that I was eager to make, especially after seeing some comments about Guy that I don't feel are entirely accurate. Personally, I fully believe that Guy supported Diane and encouraged her to make choices that would result in her ultimate fulfillment, which she does recieve!

I was so happy that she was able to find this patient and understanding man, who motivated her to take charge of her mental state and search for happiness. Also, ...

Bojack Horseman's Unending Pattern with Women

Here is the edited version of the new essay from yesterday! Was one of the longer ones I've ever made (I think the longest), and honestly, I'm super proud of it. Tried to provide as much context from clips as possible, so I hope it's as clear as I intended.

Still-let me know if I left anything out. Like the end of this video says, my subscribers and patrons give me my best ideas!

Bojack Horseman's Unending Pattern with Women (Unedited)

Someone requested that I do this after the professional pattern video, and...boy did we know this one was going to be a doozy. Honestly, I expected it to be even longer, so let me know if there's anything I left out! Yes, I didn't talk much about Ana Spanikopita, mostly because his relationship with her is quite different than with the other women he dates. Plus, the "pushing away" part of the pattern is done mostly on her behalf, with Bojack not wanting her to go.

But irregardless, the...

Bojack Horseman and Fatherhood. (Unedited)

One of my Youtube viewers pointed this common pattern out to me, and I can't believe I haven't made a video about this already! He does truly want to be a father in the worst way, specifically with a girl to raise, so that he doesn't have to face (too many) of his own demons. A really interesting and introspective look on Bojack's relationship with Hollyhock, Sarah Lynn, etc.

I think it definitely does stem from his childhood (as many of his issues do) and his relationship with his moth...

Why Princess Carolyn and Ralph Didn't Work. (Unedited)

This was always a point of contention among a lot of fans: how the relationship between these two characters fizzled out and never quite came back, but I think there is definitely a purposeful arc in terms of their relationship and how it affects and changes Princess Carolyn.

Not only this, but I don't think they were really ever going to work, ultimately just not meeting at the right time, and their priorities never aligning correctly. It's sad, but it does happen quite often in real ...

The Importance of Jordan Li from "Gen V" (Unedited)

This character was one that didn't take me long to fall in love with. I was so pleased that someone in the comments requested I make some videos about Gen V, as I really think the cast of that show is highly underrated. While it doesn't have Homelander or Butcher, the cast is incredibly intelligently written, and one of the prime examples of that is Jordan Li.

The performance from the two actors: London Thor and Derek Luh are so incredible, and they clearly worked hard to mimic each oth...

Mr. Peanutbutter & Bojack: An Enduring Friendship (Unedited)

They've always had a really interesting relationship with one another. In the first few seasons, it's unclear how they really feel about each other: while Bojack is openly resentful, Mr. Peanutbutter is suspiciously nice. Ultimately, as we learn more about these two, we start to understand why they act that way, and realize that they have quite a bit in common, despite their very different behavior.

As they both are jealous of the other's life and envy what the have, they also look up t...

Why Everyone LOVES "Free Churro"!

There's a reason why this is one of the most-discussed episodes of Bojack Horseman. Not only does it take a big swing with its storytelling, but it also has some of the greatest and dialogue and character reflection I've ever seen on television. The way they dive into Bojack's familial relationships and display them with such care and complexity is nothing short of brilliant. All three of them feel like fleshed-out, fully "real people", even if I still despise two of them.

Plus, the epi...
