Oh my goodness, this Month has tested us. We left marina and headed to a new anchorage between 3 islands in Long Island Sound called the Copps Island anchorage. We were the only boat anchored. We're all set up and ready to sail from the BVI to the lower Caribbean. This is a tricky overnight passage that requires us to sail 8 hours northeast followed by a tack southeast in order to get a good angle on the wind. Jeremiah demonstrates how to piss Brittany off and more!

Currently it’s day 12 of our long voyage back to the US and we are almost there! As I write down my thoughts I am on watch, sitting here while everyone takes a nap. We are continuing our journey back to the US from Grenada and currently on day 6 of the passage. Today we have both sails out (reef and main), traveling at 5.4 knots and the seas are way better than they were during the first 3 days. Currently looking at 3ft waves. Other boats are getting closer to us! Maybe we will get close enough to be able to radio. That would be really fun for the night shifts!

We didn't expect to have a weather window, giving us the opportunity to jump from Florida directly to the Chesapeake but we do! Tomorrow we'll depart from Cumberland Island, which is right along the Florida/Georgia line, head offshore and then northeast to the Chesapeake! We plan on taking this window to get as far as possible during the next 4 days before any northerly wind component begins which causes large seas and an uncomfortable ride.

I don’t think I realized just how much I missed sailing! Day 2 might have been Rhys’ favorite day of them all. We caught a fish! Only took us being out on open water on active sail to finally reel one in but we did it. Rhys loves the excitement of getting the fish onto Calypso and seeing it up close.
