Im currently trying to create villains for R.E.M, my initial thought was to have someone  large and scary so it can intimidate the protagonist. However, I began to create a villain by  being simplistic with the mass and color. What I find disturbing in a villain is their calm expression because they tend to feel invincible. I enjoy the character Truth in FMA and decided to base one of my villains from them.

Comic Update 2

So in my AU Lili and Leon begin to date, Lili hasn't had a partner since Jake and Jake wasn't really a partner. Jake was a monster someone who manipulated and violated her and made her believe it was normal. Lili was so scared of Jake she refused to go back to school until he graduated. 

Once Jake graduated she returned to school to finish her last year and during this time she met Leon in a strange situation. I will talk more about it in the future.

Jasper is a dream walker as every person in the real world are. To enter anyone dreams you must first share a strong bond. Lili in the start of the series is quiet, she tends to bury her feelings. She is constantly being loved yet she still feels empty. Lili would at times try to speak to her husband (subconscious) about how she feels yet he comforts her by gas lighting her emotions. 

Her subconscious tells her she tried she must sleep and she will feel better in the morning once she does her subconscious erases her memory and she completely forgets the emptiness she felt.

Some Jasper studies, god is his nose sometime hard to draw but so lovely to see when drawn correctly. Jasper uses a rapier and a dagger. Jasper has no skill whatsoever when it comes to either weapon and his weapon is mainly used for beginners since there is a magic within both weapons to help those who can't fight well fight...I guess you can say it mainly for practice.

Daughter AU

I have this AU that Lili and Leon get married and have two daughters. But today lets focus on the oldest! name? idk yet. She adorable! and has both her mother and father hair! she is a sweet heart who very sporty like her father. She clearly looks up to him! Leon loves her dearly and would bring her everywhere when she was very young and I MEAN IT. To the gym, sporting events, work, shopping you name it they always have a father and daughter dates.

Leon

Oh! can we talk about Leon again for another minute? How can someone so brutal be so soft! here are some sketches I made mostly to try to figure out his entire body shape. I enjoy his break dancing sketch! even though he can't dance to save his life! and ahhhh he looks so lost in thought holding what I believe could be a bracelet? (hint hint!)

Japser is a complex character, he wants to do whats best for Lili without even asking her what she believes is best for her. He is a horrible listener and he realizes that once things begin to go sour. Lili wants to trust Jasper but as they begin to get closer to her core memories she see a side of him he refuses to acknowledge. Jasper has fear he has regret and guilt yet he never expresses why he has these feelings.

2018- villain or hero?

Leon at first use to be one of many villains. He was ruthless and aggressive and didn't care to bring back Lili alive or dead. Leon sole mission was to bring her back at any cost. I created an old storyboard to portray this characteristic. I did throw it away because I began to see him as a softy. 

Not to say he isn't ruthless, he very much is and he enjoys fighting to a point he wouldn't stop until his enemy is left in pieces (look out Jasper!) Yet he would never hurt Lili and he ...

Many people enjoy Lili and Leon ship! I do to! and because of that I decided to give Leon a bigger role in the story. I can't really say what that role is but rest assured he means well. Leon is allot more comforting than Jasper. Jasper has trouble comforting Lili. Not that he doesn't want to but he fails in that personality trait. He does comfort her from time to time but he really doesn't know what to say.

Short Hair and Tears

I still love the idea that Lili loses her hair, I want it to be for a reason of course! it seems that the reason will result to pain and sorrow. I do enjoy drawing her in these poses in which she lost within her own grief. I want her short hair to be unkept, Her hair will grow back quickly it just an idea that I want to introduce later within the plot. what do you guys think?

I had this idea that these creatures called Self Doubts would be in Lili's dreams and they eventually find her because they are apart of her. Lili hates them because they are everything she hates about herself. They aren't the only creatures to represent her toxicity yet she can't escape them no matter how many doors she opens. Agatha is the wife of the consultant of the Queen of Night/Moon. Agatha is hot headed and refuses to listen to anyone including her husband. Agatha loves shopping and looking her best, having the latest fashion and jewelry she needs to be number one at all times.

Ignorance is Bliss

Lili is constantly fighting with herself, her dream begins to fall apart, the more aware she becomes the more her dreams begin to crumble. Her subconscious keeps trying to bring her back yet the more memories she collects she gains the ability to fight back. At first Lili wanted to escape, she wanted to know her true self and her reality yet the more she learns about herself the more she regrets to ever taking the journey.

The calm before the storm

I really wanted to create something to show you guys how much I enjoy illustrating!, I wanted to create something calming and quiet. There isn't a real backstory just more of a relax visual.  This illustration took me a couple days, usually large illustrations takes me about a whole day to finish if I'm not working etc.  I tend to approach my illustrations as a painter because I'm a painter lol!  and I start to slowly recreate what I see or do. What does Lili's hair symbolize?

Lili's hair as you can see is the universe. I came up with idea when I was trying to decided how to distinguish Lili's designs both within the dream and in reality. I wanted to create a contrast between the two to help the viewer further understand that they are within a dream and not an actual real world. A good advice in storytelling is to show and not tell and that means to show the viewer what the story is about without having characters explaining it.

Loses Hope

As I mentioned in my last post Lili loses her hair. Lili at one point becomes in tangled between her reality and false reality. She loses hope and is in constant turmoil. Her subconscious can feel her pain and wishes to take her in its arm and take her back to ignorance. The more she becomes self aware the more she begins to have emotions negative and positive. Short Hair?!?! WHY?

Further into the story Lili loses her hair, Eventually it does grow back very quickly but there is a time when she has short hair. Her clothing is based on 1914 everyday wear so a simple blouse and long skirt.  She seems a bit concerned here but to be honest I always draw her concern lol.

I do have a secret love of drawing her with short hair  yet I know she is known for her long hair and I must do what the audience wants! lol!  I can also have a bit of fun! lol so she do...

Jasper never seems to know how to handle Lili when she turns into these forms. She can either be very destructive or very emotional. Either way Jasper is uncomfortable. Sometimes when Lili turns into this form she can't seem to help herself. When she is corrupt she finds the joy in hurting others especially Jasper.
