Many probably noticed but my website was abandoned for a bit.  It was getting hard to manage and it was never where I wanted it to be.  Too complicated, too much bloat, too many clicks, too many plugins.

During my time with COVID I decided to take it down and clean it up.

Change A) It's going to be a gallery and storytelling site.  The community stuff like comments and things I have removed.  There are dozens of sites and programs someone can use to contact me, so I felt having yet another one was just adding more messages for me to forget about.

Change 2) It's once again fully integrated with Patreon so that I can start posting the Remix34 and Patron exclusive content.   All normal posts still have the bonus content attached too, like the watermark free animation and sometimes angles or variants.

Change 3) Have added a direct link to my MEGA archive right on the front page when a patron or friend is logged in.  This should make it easy to access in the future without me having to update or mess with old posts here on Patreon itself.  Whenever you need the archive, just log in through the site.

Some old links still need to be fixed, so just give me time on that, but for now, would love to know what you guys think of the changes.

For those new to the process, all you have to do is be logged into Patreon in the same browser as you visit my site.  Once you click the "Become a Patron" buttons it will pass back through to Patreon and use the authorization to automatically log you into the site and let you see everything.  The buttons will also vanish when this is done so they won't bother you further.

Remix34 Patreon Vote

Personal Update : As mentioned on Twitter, got COVID last week.  Am pretty sure I am in the recovery period but not going to push myself too much till I am negative.

To start using Remix34, or the ability to switch out Orcslayer characters for more famous characters in my style, I decided it be fun to split it into vote bonuses for my big social media accounts, Patreon, Substar, and Twitter.  Of course, this won't stop me from making my own swaps whenever I feel like it, like Rebels Ahsoka, but she won't be in any vote because of that.

The chosen options for the vote will be at random based on what I can make, but I will have a fifth option for a write-in.  If you vote for write-in you can add a option in the comments, and if write-in wins I will go to the comments and choose whichever comment has the most likes among my supporters.

Whichever one wins will be rendered the minute I feel better and can get some swaps put in.  Quick disclaimer, but I will be making these characters in what I consider my style, so don't expect totally show / game accurate representations.  There are a lot of animators that do that way better then me, and I decided I wanted to go my own way because it's what I enjoy.  Will do my best to make them feel like they should though.

While I have the energy, you guys get the first vote.  Now back to bed for a bit.

ReXXVerse

The planning and setup for Orcslayers has revitalized a lot of creative energy in me that I felt I lost years ago.  It helped me finally realize how aimless I have been.  Ahsoka, Poppy, and Uriel were the only characters that were bringing me a lot of joy, and I narrowed it down to the fact I just love stylized animation more then anything.  

It was why I loved WarCraft, why I animated it for so long.  My energy finally found a focus, and it's been hard to stop working on it.  Not only did I make my new character, Sivana.

But I even recreated some old ones too, like Lakuu (with Classic Skin) and Robyn.

It allows me some customization options.

Or new interesting body shape options and races.

Yet there was one thing I was still unsure on.  Rule34.  I knew I didn't want to give it up, but I also knew that it was going to be hard going back to it after Orcslayers was finalized because Orcslayers could be remixed, but Rule34 wouldn't be.

Then, while watching a friend play Fortnite, it hit me like a sack of bricks.  Why am I trying so hard to make each character fit the original styling, when I just really wanted to do my own?  It worked for Epic with all their Fortnite skins, why couldn't I do it too?  It was like someone unplugged a clog in my head.  Since then, I have made preliminary conversions to test the waters, in what I have dubbed "Phase 2" of my ReXXVerse.

(Disclaimer, these are all early conversions and some don't have shaping or only early shaping.  They will be improved as I keep moving forward.)

Better yet, all of these character will be REMIXABLE with any animation I do with the medium rig, like with Sivana, Lakuu, or Robyn.  That's right, REMIX 3.0 has finally come and will be more varied then ever.  I hope to make it exclusive for all your guys, including drop in requests for new characters.

Thank you for sticking with me through the troubles, and all my early failures to find myself.  It feels good to finally just be myself again without that doubt clogging my soul.

Life is coming at me fast right now so it's been hard to get anything done with summer, covid, the kids, etc, but one thing I put as much into I could was finishing my "Medium Female" rig for Orcslayers and finished all the tweaks I wanted on the elf seen in the teasers.  This is a base render of her without the filtering process I have been using.

Orcslayers FAQ

As I know, a few of you are likely curious what "Orcslayers" is, and what it means for my other works here.  As such, I decided to make a quick FAQ to help.

Does this mean you are going to stop Rule34 animations?

No.  Not a chance.  Rule34 will always have a place in my creative mind and I love using some characters, like Ahsoka, Poppy, Uriel, etc.  Orcslayers is a series / story that I plan to do on top of experimenting more in Rule34, as I always have.

Is this the world you teased previously and wrote stories about?

Yes, and no.  AUREXX (Alternate Universe Rexx) was a vast fantasy world I was building, but it grew too big and too cumbersome very quickly.  Orcslayers as a series is based in a small section of the world I built, and will be used as a development point to expand the world more organically. This means a lot of things in my original designs will likely change.

What does Orcslayers give us that you couldn't do with other stuff?

Well for one thing, it means a return of remixing and recoloring.  Once the system is done, I will even be able to intertwine Orcslayers with Rule34, having cameos from famous characters, but in my own style.  It also means more written content, as I get much more joy out of writing my own characters.

Will we lose anything because of this?

While this isn't because of Orcslayers directly, I will be changing back to 1080 resolution as my standard.   After speaking with some people, it seemed most didn't actually really care about 4K renders.  Not enough too warrant the double (sometimes triple) render time they required, and all the logistics and folders and such.  

However, supporters in the current 4K tier will be able to request upscales of their favorite animations to 4K, though any upscales will go right into the patron archives for anyone to enjoy.

So this means you will be changing rewards again?

Yes.  The plan right now is to keep all RENDERED and WRITTEN content at base supporter.  That means any resolution changes, remixes, camera angles, etc.  The logistics of splitting that type of content on tiers has been eating me alive.  Would much rather be animating then dealing with how to keep all the files separated.

Higher tiers will instead get other bonuses, like the aforementioned upscale requests.  Other examples of rewards I hope to add are Unreal Scenes, Stage Packs, Model Packs, Remix Requests, Character Insert Requests, Position / Character Polls, etc.  

Will also be redoing some of my old tutorials to teach others my process both in C4D and Resolve which will be open to my highest tier. 

What was the reason for developing this idea and going forward with it?

There isn't a single reason for it, and I could write a book about the why, but to keep this answer short, I simply wanted more creative freedom, the ability to focus on my own style rather then dabbling in other styles and renderers, and a way to tell stories once again with characters I could build myself.  There is only so long my creative needs could just piggyback on more established pop culture characters, and I felt in my age, I needed something that I could build myself.

In other news, I have been on medication, and started a new second job to keep up with expenses.  While that does take some time away from me, the safety I now feel and the fulfillment of this project means I am less likely to hide in my own shell or panic going forward.  Let us keep it that way.  Thank you, everyone.

Pose Box - Hero Research

Another addition to the pose box.  Starting soon I hope to start doing polls on which of these scenes people will want me to fully animate, just want to fill up on a few more options so expect a lot more of these soon.

I know people wondering where the Jinx animation is, honestly I got into a bad place trying to make my own background and it killed me a bit.  I am looking into some screenshot magic from the show arcane instead, using some new techniques I learned from these pose box attempts and some tutorials on extruding backgrounds.

Early Quickie - Exiles : The Beginning

"What do you mean sell me!?" Ahsoka whispered as both she and Rex skulked through the alleyways and shadowed paths of Tatooine.  Rex frowned, "It's temporary! We need the credits to repair the cruiser and get off this blasted wasteland."
Ahsoka sighed, rubbing her temples, "This is giving me some serious flashbacks to Zygerria.  Surely there are other ways to make credits here? Maybe gamble on pod races using the ship as collateral?"
Rex shakes his head, "That's a terrible idea!"
"Humph!" Ahsoka grunts in annoyance, before getting lost in thought, "Mercenary contracts?"
"With my face!? We would be spotted and captured before the first sun sets." Rex lectured, "I don't like it any more then you do, but these Huttie slavers are willing to pay substantial credits for young attractive Togruta, no questions asked. One and done payment."
The two stop for a moment outside of the Huttie safe house, Rex pulling out a pair of old Republic shackles and putting on his hood, before turning to a still fuming Ahsoka, "Sabotaged these, should be able to use your abilities to pop them open when the time is right. You ready?"
Ahsoka furrowed her brow and rolled her eyes, before putting out her wrists, "Don't expect me to stay for very long."
After meeting with the slavers, Ahsoka is taken into the safe house while Rex finalizes the deal with a rather pudgy Bothan, "Your payment, Mr. Xer.  Thank you for the valuable asset."
Rex counts out the crucial credits, keeping up the act, "My pleasure, so with the auctions closed, planning to hold her in a cell for awhile? "
The Bothan let out wheezing laugh before falling into a coughing fit, "Oh no, we take our job very seriously here, Mr. Xer, once she is in some proper restraints, my handlers will break her in as an obedient concubine for her future master."
Rex paused his counting as his eyes darted up towards the coughing Bothan, and then the safe house, his mind racing, "Did he just say... huh oh..."

A little something I wanted to try as I was itching to use this model again in my own style rather then Blender, and desperately needed to take the edge off my frustrations this month. A quick animation and story that came into my head just yesterday afternoon, posted early just for friends and supporters.

Apologies

Don't think it's been a secret (harhar) but my mental health has not been great the last year and a half to two years.  It's a constant roller-coaster where I feel decent one day and beyond the pale the next.  This has delayed pretty much all my plans for this year, from videos I wanted to finish to other projects and ideas, to commissions I really should get done.  It's been terrible, and I have been getting counseling to help with the depression.

As you have seen, I have tried out new things to get past this, like the pose box and RoR to allow myself more freedom, to many things I never even talked about, but nothing has really worked.  One of the few things that kept me sane was just doing random stuff on my own, which you may notice in the archive draft folder using forbidden models.  If your looking for some nostalgia, check out that archive for personal stuff you may see a lot of a certain horned lady in there.

In the end though I kind of killed this place.  Interest is low, subscriptions are down, and I am not making enough money to survive.  I took on a graveyard job part time to fill the gaps, but even that won't be sustainable at the rate I lose you guys every month, and the loss of sleep is kind of killing me too.

So I thought about why I keep going back to the old models.  It's not the lore or setting anymore, as I stopped playing that game a long time ago now.  It's really the OCs, the attachment to my own characters and own stories that I was able to mingle with other characters and mesh with the styling.  As you know, I wanted to create my own fantasy setting, but lack of time, will, and savings prevented that from really happening and each month I lost more of you it just seemed like a farther and farther dream.

Have an idea though, and I wanted your guys input.

The last three weeks I have done some intense scouring of the net and have found a load of resources I can use inside Unreal for both movies and interactive scenes.  My idea is to have two "Unreal Projects" that I can just animate and stick stuff in.  One will be based on FF14, as I showed before, but the other will use outside resources to create a sort of pocket dungeon that I can just run wild with.  It will have new OCs I design and play with, but also can have tons of cameos from other franchises, like LoL, Witcher, etc, being pulled through, like a multi-verse. 

This won't replace the videos, which I still plan to do and post publicly, but instead will be something extra I do on my own time, with little quick videos I will post on my main twitter only and interactive downloads that will be exclusive for you guys.  If this works out, maybe I can turn it into a game, or a full setting, who knows.  What you guys think?

Anyways, for those that have stuck with me since I started to lose it, thank you, and I hope I can be better for all of you starting next year.  Jinx will be soon.

Future Teasers

The Jinx animation is taking me a bit longer, mostly due to lack of a good background, plus other responsibilities, but I wanted to show you something else I have been developing.

FF14 has been a difficult road for me, due to everything from model problems, to bad normal maps, to styling issues.  In the last month though I realized half those issues would be fixed if I just stopped trying to make it the usual renders and instead leaned into the fact it's a game.  

As such, I dusted off Unreal again and have started porting all the FF14 races and many of the locations into Unreal engine, including creating a stylized post process to bring it all together (second image has experiments into this and in-game recoloring).  Keep this on the down low though, I don't need any more.. you know.

My ultimate goal is to have both something I can render out fun animations for public display, but also give patrons customization options by uploading game files that you can adjust to make any character you want.  That is a stretch goal though, so until then I just hope to restart "remixing" through this process and just post standard interactive scenes.

If this works out I might do something similar for other characters or stories.  Uriel sex dungeon interactive scene might be fun.

Animation - Airress3D Collab

You may have seen this up yesterday, but I wanted to make it official here and on my site.  This was a collab using Airress3D Ahsoka model before it's release on Smutbase.

I actually did it for two reasons, one, I wanted to help teach Airress how to handle animation in Blender, and two, by helping Airress I motivated myself to get over my own pit falls with Blender.  This was the fruit of the collaboration.

There is no difference on the video files outside of sound.  One has no music and the other two had some light overlapping music.  Enjoy.
