I am still somewhat unwell (in a lot of pain) so apologies for the slow output.
Another set from my shoot with Naömi - this was the last part of the shoot and she asked for something different, so I mounted this red paper backdrop in the studio. There was not much of the roll left, so we could only shoot 3/4 framing.

In the latter part of this shot Aim put some oil on her skin. Oil emphasises the specular highlights from reflections and so enhances the contrast, giving a different effect that works especially well from close ups.

Second half of Yasemin's shots. We shot out on a ledge where the surf hit and made a big splash - don't worry, she was not near the edge, but I was shooting with a long lens (at the 200mm end of the zoom) which gives a foreshortening effect , making the edge look closer.

It was a little while before Monika got nude, because there was a guy wandering around the beach who seemed a bit creepy. Keeping an eye on us, and got his phone out - but just pointed it at the ocean. In the end we concluded that he was just a local walking his dog, and eventually he wandered off.
So Part 2 opens with nudes, then Monika with her black swimsuit.
I don't think I will get back to the beach this Summer - although I still have some photos from the beach to post - but ...

Second half of my one and only Vicky Aisha shoot.
A Patron asked me if I had ever shot Vicky Aisha. Well, yes, I had shot her. A long time ago (like 9 years). Before she had her boob job and moved overseas. She was mainly a circus performer at the time, and did some contortionist moves.
This was shot at the very much missed Storehouse Studio in Belgrave. First half was in the front studio with its far too powerful flashes on a white background, the second half was shot in the back...

The weather forecast was really good, and in Melbourne you just don't know how long the beach weather will last, so Monika and I hastily arranged a shoot at a secluded beach down on the Mornington Peninsula.
It was a glorious day when I set off, but in the time it took to drive from my place to the beach it had clouded over and there were storms on Port Phillip Bay.

An art nude set from my shoot with Belinda at TDA studio.
Starting in the blue slip and matching panties, first the panties go, and then the top.

Monika has been on my list of models I'd like to work with for years. I finally ran into her at a workshop on shooting at the beach using natural light.
I had a chance to do another beach shoot with her this week, but on my own and at a more secluded beach, so it could include some topless and nude work as well. And we are going to do a fine-art nude studio shoot at the end of March.

I am not really a beach person. I try to make a trip to the beach about once a year for a shoot. But this Summer, I seem to have been down the Mornington Peninsula about every weekend.
This was a beach shoot arranged by a friend - two models and 4 photographers. We thought it would be a swimwear shoot, but it turns out Melissa does not pose in bikinis, so it turned into a beach fashion shoot instead.

I have had some IT issues lately - my main photography computer ran out of disk space and is in the shop getting more. For that and work related reasons my output has been slowed.
But I have been spending a lot of time at the beach this Summer, much more than I ordinarily would (I am not really a beach person, and typically do just one beach shoot each year).

A couple of weeks ago I went to the beach with some fellow photographers and I got horribly sun-burnt. But you don't care about that!

From a workshop at a nearby studio, Kim came to show off her fire working skills. For obvious reasons we did this outside in the car park!

More of the shoot with Naömi. Overexposure is not always a bad thing - used carefully, your camera will record it as pure white, which can cover inconsistencies in the background.

This studio, that I use occasionally, has a floor with good possibilities for natural light. In particular, this nook at one end of the studio has a large window facing walls covered in random patterns for primary colours. Kiko, a redhead, has quite a good colour herself, and so the scene lends itself to these high saturation images.
