This is my second attempt at an interview with a model I am shooting, I hope you like it. Shot yesterday.
May's last visit to Melbourne was very successful, so she raced back for another. We shot in a lovely little flat in Richmond.
Apologies for the awful sound quality - I could not find my good microphone, and it turns out my backup microphone is crap. So I will be doing some video and sound experiments before the next shoot.

This was my first shoot with Mez, and she is such a delight to work with that I am sure we will shoot again soon. We started with this set with Mez wearing lingerie under some open jeans.
Technical: Nikon D850 with NIKKOR 70-200mm f/2.8G VR II lens. Light from 3 Godox MS300 studio flashes, two either side of Mez in strip soft boxes to give halo lighting, one above and to the left of the camera in a 120cm octagonal soft box.

May's lovely flat had this wood burner stove - May loved the setting and, besides, it was a cold day. Took us an age to get the fire going, though!
Technical: Nikon D850 with NIKKOR 70-200mm f/2.8G VR II lens. Light from two Godox AD200pro flashes.

We moved into the bedroom which has a full 4-poster bed, but the bed takes up almost the whole room, so it was a bit hard to capture its grandeur.
Technical: Nikon D850 with NIKKOR 24-70 f/2.8E lens. Light from 2 Godox AD200pro flashes in 60cm soft boxes and a Nikon SB-800 to give some extra fill.

This was a social shoot organised by a photographer I know. It was supposed to be 10 photographers and 4 models, but it turned out to be a cold day (you can see Meghan's goose bumps), so only 5 photographers and 1 model showed up.
Technical: Nikon D700 with NIKKOR 70-200mm f/2.8G VR II lens. Natural light.

At the end of a fabulous shoot with Mez we had a quick Q&A about modelling, how we came to shoot, and today's shoot.
This was my first attempt at a post shoot interview, so please let me know what you think. Comment below.
Processing has started on the shoot, so posts should start appearing in a week or so.
Technical: The only interesting technical aspect (for me at least) is that I got to try out the LED attachments for my Godox AD200pro flashes - from ...

May booked this lovely flat when she stayed in Melbourne recently, and I was the first photographer to shoot her there. One of the first things you see as you come into the flat is this small set of stairs, and we were both excited to use it as a location.
Technical: Nikon D850 with NIKKOR 70-200mm f/2.8G VR II lens. Key light is a Godox AD200pro in a 80cm soft box above my head, with fill from a Nikon SB-800 speedlight to the left in the main room. The SB-800 was  ...

A new model at a new location. The Dragons Parlour is a new boudoir studio in Melbourne, and this was the first shoot done there when it opened. It is a great space, beautifully decorated, but the main challenge of working there is it is a bit cramped. However, there is a pool in the back yard, so I will be back to shoot there in the Summer.
I found Amy through a modelling site - she was stuck overseas for a bit with the pandemic, but has returned to Australia and returned to modelling....

There used to be a paper factory in suburban Melbourne. It has now been demolished to make way for housing, but for a brief period between it closing and construction on the houses began it made a great location to shoot. Sadly, this was the only time I got to shoot there, and the only time I got to shoot Meghan.

May is a poet as well as a model. She has had some problems over the last few years, but had feels she has grown as a result of that and is more in tune with her mind and body.
May had this red suit in her wardrobe, and when I suggested wearing that (and nothing else) she was quite keen, as it gave her a chance to express androgynous themes, adopting some masculine poses and expressions.

Astaria approached me on Instagram to ask for a portfolio shoot at this particular studio (Tall Dark and Art).

Reaching back into the archives again, this was one of the first shoots I did at my favourite beach location. Shot back in 2011 on my first DSLR, so the quality is not great (due to both the camera and my emerging technique).
Part 2 next week, and yes, the bikini bottoms come off.
Technical: Nikon D80 with the 55-200mm f/4.0-5.6 kit lens. Natural light.

As I posted before, as of this month the "everything" tier has been broken into two - "Everything Current" which has access to 6 months of archives, and "Everything Always" which has full archives.
To implement that, I had to manually edit every post to put it in the right category. That is now done (phew!) so if you want to see the older posts (and I have just looked at them all - there is so...

May is a professional model, and also a professional poet with 4 books published. On top of that she is a painter as well.
I am shooting her again very soon, so went back and reviewed the last shoot we did together - which was about 3 years ago! Thanks, pandemic.
May is posing on a bed in a hotel room next to a mirror. Shooting with a mirror is often tricky - you essentially have two subject, you have to make sure both are well lit, and you have to make sure you are not in the pho...

My dear Patrons,
First of all, thank you once again for all your support.
I have been considering ways to make this page more valuable to my Patrons, and ways to get additional income so that I can generate even more content. I have also been consulting with Patreon for ideas and a notion of what other creators do.
In addition, over the last year or so I have had a number of requests for content that I have, but does not totally fit within the Community Guidelines. So I have...

It was always part of the plan to shoot in front of this bookshelf, but when I spotted the tartan underwear in Monika's bag I said that that was librarian lingerie! The shirt on top was Monika's contribution.

I recently did a TFP portfolio shoot with Gemma at the Tall Dark and Art House of Boudoir. We shot 3 different looks, but I think this steampunk look worked best.
Technical: Nikon D850 with NIKKOR 24-70mm f/2.8E lens. Light from two Godox AD200pro pocket flashes, one on the left in a red filter, the other on the right with a 60cm soft box. Yes, I used the same lighting in two locations.

It had been a cold morning, and so the house was a bit chilly when we turned up to shoot. Fortunately it was a sunny morning, and so the sun room at the back for the House of Boudoir was reasonably warm. So while we let the heaters do their stuff in the rest of the house, we started out shoot there.

- 17 June - lingerie and nude in the sun room
- 24 June - librarian cosplay in front of the bookshelf (part 1)
- 1 July - bookshelf (part 2)
I am 100% certain I will shoot Monika again, but probably not until later in the year when it warms up again. Monika really likes outdoo...

Gemma was a circus performer and costume designer, and back in the day I did some photography for her costume web site. This shoot (tacked on to the end of another session) was a special request for me - she did make these chain mail outfits any more (they were just too hard), but she still had one so I asked her to model it for me.
Technical: Nikon D700 with NIKKOR 50mm f/1.8D lens (the "nifty fifty"). Light from two Nikon SB-800 speedlights in small soft boxes.
