Step by Step : “Yes I Can” drawing

Hello my dear Patrons! I did this drawing today, half for fun and half for promoting my on-line classes. I eant to share with you the process.

I use a handy sketchbook with this paper, something I can use everywhere without stress.
I did the structure of the drawing with a “Naples yellow” pencil.

Then I did the lines and the values with two different colored pencils, orange and red. This makes the result more vibrant!

In next post I’ll show you the digital colors s...

PROCESS: Grémillets t2 vover image (1)

Hello my fantastic Patrons

I finished the cover of my next book, at laaast :))) I HATE doing cover images!!! I never attended illustration classes or anything like that, so I have to do everything instinctual, which gives me a lot of pression! And a cover image is so important for a book!!! But I did it, now I can breath :) until next one !!!

I'm going to show you the full process.

here goes the rough sketch. It's the part where you take all the decisions: what to show, who ...

Hello my fantastic patrons. I want to share with you a slice of my daily work . I ‘m running like hell to finish this new book, the second volume of Grémillet Sisters (Les Soeurs Gremillet in French edition).

Here are some panels . As you can see there is a dramatic twist , as I like it! The three sisters are investigating on a mysterious ghost haunting an abandoned church. In the same time, Cassiopée has to choose between two lovers!
The style is the same I used for book one: t...

PROCESS: COMIC PAGE

Hello my dear Patrons!

As I told you, I am deep in a new comic book, the second volume of Grémillet Sisters ("Les Soeurs Grémillet" in France).

For this project I use e style that I never used before in comics, which is a mix of pencil, watercolors and digital colors.

First of all: the script (which I don' show you here for it's in Italian XD ). Once , with the writer Di Gregorio, we decide what happens in the scéne and the dialogues, I start the storyboard stap. This is ...

Xmas Pin-Up step by step

Hello my beautiful Patrons! I wish you the best Xmas vacations in this crazy year.
I want to share with you the process of this Christmas Pin-Up so you can create your own! For yourself or for making a special gift!

I start doing a mini mood-board. I want to make a classical Christmas pin-up with a twist, so I start from 50s pin ups and mix it with modern pop star look! I like this Ariana Grande pose , her hair on the shoulder. And I am a Gwen Stefani fan XD love her irony!

WILL relaxing // preview

Hello my dear Patrons, and welcome to all the new arrivals :) I did this Will drawing and I filmed it. So next post will be the process video for this image. Will was my favorite W.I.T.C.H. girl, the one identified the most. Yes I never thought about her as “girl” but just as a teenager. Probably this is why she doesn’t have any “girly” cliché in her (and why she’s such a strong character).
Stay tuned for the video!

Cornelia redraw : video

Hello there

here goes the video of the drawing of CORNELIA, one of my favorite characters in W.I.T.C.H. ! She looks so confident but she hides more weakness than all the other girls in the group. I loved this duality!
Here I had fun redrawing this pose from the famous comic number 1 ,”Halloween”.
up next I’ll post the steps of the digital coloring.

The vidéo is a little sped up (150%) , you can turn the music off if you don’t like it ;)

CORNELIA 2020 - preview

Hello my dear Patrons,

Just for fun, I went back to my W.I.T.C.H. book and I decided to redraw one of my favorite poses: Cornelia welcoming Will and Taranee to the world-famous Sheffield Institute Halloween Party! I liked the confidence that I managed to make her communicate, so in contrast with Will’s shyness!
I will post a video of the drawing and a step-by-step of the digital coloring.

So, stay tuned my friends!

Preview: BETH from “the Queen’s Gambit”

Hello my dear friends. Like MANY people in this moment I fell in love with Beth, the main character of the new Netflix mini-series The Queen’s Gambit. If you have Netflix go take a look! A very strong, modern character! So I dedicated her this “hommage”. I will post the full video of the drawing so stay tuned!

Cornelia anatomy process

Hello again! Here goes the full video.

I recreated the process I used for creating this image, so you can see how I construct this kind of drawings with a very simple and effective use of anatomy.
The most important thing is the choice of the mood. Then, the line of action is what makes the image alive. I put special care on the right hand, to make it the most important element of the composition.
I hope you’ll like it and that it will be helpful.

hasta pronto!

Fourmille Pin-Up : watercolors

Hello hello

here goes the video of the watercolors process I use for my pin-up illustrations.
I use Canson illustration paper (250gr) wich is not the best watercolor paper, but it’s good enough for simple images like this.
I use Schmincke watercolors (these, YES , are good watercolors!).

Now it’s up to you to try :)

Will: muscles video

And here is the creepy part :)

I did this video as a promo for a masterclass that is a lot about anatomy. so I had the idea to show what’s under Will’s skin :p

Note that the muscles are NOT scientifically correct, but this is the point of the conference. And she’s a manga girl with wings, so realism is not really the deal here :D

see you on next W.I.T.C.H. post!

Will Video : construction

Hello my friends

first video! Here you can see how I use a classical animation construction: a ball for the head and a mask for the face. I always put immidiately the expression on, for the expression guides the energy of the pose.

Line of action pour the pose! Note as all the lines are related: hair, wings  etc flows with the same energy.

Hop in next video I start defining the details!
