Hello Everyone! This year I want to repeat my own personal witchtober, which becomes W.I.T.C.H.tober once again! This means that I dedicate it to my beloved little daughters, the Disney's WITCH guardians of Kandrakar, which I created 20 years ago with my friends Elisabetta Gnone and Barbara Canepa!
I won't do a drawing a day because I am finishing a book right now, so I don't want to promise something that I can't keep. But I'll post regularely drawings of Will, Corneli...

Hello my dear Patrons. Many of you told me that they liked the perspective tutorial. I know that Perspective is the Nasty Beast first every artist ! So here goes another one. I photographed every step of constructing this ambitious comic panel for you. Here we go:
we’re in the fantasy world of Ekhö, in China. The set is a giant sculpture inspired by the Buddha of Leshan.
I start with a tiny sketch on the script. Here I decide the camera angle.
I create a reference board w...

Hello my dear Patrons
so I showed you how I created the image for my upcoming book`s cover.
Here goes the final result with Nolwenn Lebreton`s fantastic colors!
When I composed the image I was thinking abour a simple, two-toned image, and it's exactly what she did! The yellow she used for Fourmille is called Imparial Yellow. What else for this chinese adventure?
Tip: in our internet era, it's important that the cover images can catch the eye of the viwer when published...

Hello back! Second video is about inking. I use various inking techniques in my work, depending by the style of the project. Here I use a “manga style” inking, that means that I use pigment liners. At the end I use a brush pen to add some more volume and make it more european. I like to mix the styles, make it “hybrid“ , create my own style. So, be free to test, mix, experiment!

Hello my friends
as I promised, here goes the first video.
Here you can see how I constructed the character. I learned to construct the volumes with a colored pencil when I worked in animation. I like to keep the colored lines visible in this kind of illustration (but I don’t do it in comics)
For the pose I’m totally in my comfort zone :D as I used this dynamic pose many times.
Next: the inking video.

Hello my beautiful Patrons! I’m finally back to camp base (Barcelona) where I have a decent internet connection! And I want to use it for sharing some more videos!
In this one I am sketching down an idea for the cover of the next Ekhö Mirror World book. The adventure is set in a Fantasy China so I wanted to represent the main character, Fourmille, riding à Chinese dragon. Not so original, I know XD but the first idea is the first draft. Rarely it’s the good one.
Anyway, you ...

Then I scan it, I correct things on photoshop, change the size and print it on a A3 size.

I will post tomorrow a step-by-step process for this illustration I did. She's Agape, one of the characters of SKY DOLL , my sci-fi saga I write with Barbara Canepa. Mine are the drawings, while the colors are from Canepa (with Cyril Bertin in the last two books).

Hello, here I am! So, this is one of my favourite EKHÖ covers. But, as I HATE creating cover images, as usual it took a me a lot to decide the right image to use.
The story is about a fancy dinner in Manhattan, expensive wine and a mutant octopuss. Many funny elements to work with!
There are some mermaids too, so in the beginning I tried to use the mermaid scene. But it looked not enough to represent the whole book. So I tried some other things. At the end I chose option C....

Hello my Patrons
I did this "dedicace" for a friend, and I wanted to put some quick digital color on it. As you can see the process is very simple. I wanted to give to Fourmille a darker look. It's difficult to alway keep that "yellow" hair, I tried something different. What do you think about it?

Hello, here I am. So, I want to show you the process for creating the cover image for the first volume of my comic series EKHÖ Mirror World (written by Christophe Arleston and colored by Nolwenn Lebreton).
Sorry , for some images I only have some low-def files.
It's a very early cover project, I didn't know well the universe and the characters at that point. I wanted to show the main characters AND the universe: a middle-age fastasy-like New York. Maybe I wanted to show too much ...
