Suggestions will be accepted until the 7th of this month, so you can take your time and think of a cool character you like from whatever media! Remember to say which media they're from so I can properly look it up if I don't know much about it.
I printed the script and held it in my hands for the first time! I guess I really like physical stuff when it comes to this step of the process. I'm reading it and trying to visualize what I want for the pages, so it's nice to doodle around the text and add small notes on the go.
I'll be starting thumbnailing this week!! I'm a bit scared but I'm really looking forward to it.

One of the main characteristics of the main trio is that they're from completely different nations! I wanted to spoil a bit about the aesthetics and inspiration behind them to you... Bunch of tests for the characters!!! You can see the monk has a consolidated head, the actor had just some details to work out... but oh... alchemist, alchemist, always giving me trouble. At the same time this annoys me to no end, as his exploration has been endless on itself, it's awfully in character and I kinda love it LOL

Wanted to talk a bit on where I am with development regarding the project!
The character designs are like... complete I'd say! Whenever I change something, it's a very small detail. WELL... the alchemist has an alchemy gimmick that needs a device to work - and I've been obsessed trying to find the perfect design!!!
It's honestly something that is being very very challenging to me, and it's taking so much time........

As I was training the clavicle/sternum muscle insertions, I wanted to do some pieces of the BOYS
These designs here are their very close to final ones!!
SO these days I noticed I always draw the pecs VERY close to each other, when there's CLEARLY a bony landmark between them (the sternum). So I decided to test some stuff out about it and the clavicles directly connected at it...................so It was kinda a shoulder/neck/pecs practice??? Midway through I drew a lady dimitrescu (?????)

VARIOUS iterations of the alchemist head!! getting the proportions and features right... I've had a way easier time with the other boys, but the alchemist has been a special challenge, perhaps it's because he's very present in the introduction pages and I'm nervous about starting GULP!!!

Small training sessions update!! these are some of the leftovers of the forearm practice that I didn't get to post! There's some blank space because I like filling canvases with practice sessions, but then the prep work hell intensified......

Actor expression experiments.... he has a choleric temperament and definitely has a slick, haughty air about him... I want him to restrain a bit of his emotions in his expressions, and let his body language do all the talk about how he's feeling (not tested here in this case LOL)

Some more Monk experiments!
Firstly some expression studies - he's a very sanguine individual! his emotions tends to flare up on his skin, and he always has a red healthy undertone, that gets redder depending on the intensity of what he's feeling. Here I was getting the hang of his under bite, it gets better though!

Actor costume tests, now with more direction!
The aesthetics from his nation would be something like art deco, south african patterns and a slick 70s-80s fashion. You can see me struggling a bit on adding geometric elements to his suit - but in the end I'd say he's ending up pretty handsome!
