Elven Archer Pinup 1 - Background Progress

She's coming along, slowly but surely! I want to detail the trees a bit more, add some moss to that stony archway, and detail the character more with more dynamic shading.

Here's a little update on the progress for ya! Just the flat colors now, but now I can start adding details. I struggled a good long while to get her face to look halfway decent... XDIt's been going slow, because work has picked up! But I hope to have this finished sometimes within the next few days, and to start on the next one.

Phew! This last month was tough! I barely got anything done with my Patreon project. Just a few sketches for the next set... As of right now, I have to be really careful with how I spend my time. Bills need to be paid, and currently, I have to focus on my commission work over at Deviant Art in order to do that. I am grateful for every dollar that is raised here at Patreon, and I am looking forward to the day that I can spend more time bringing this world of mine to life in a way that everyone ...

Elven Archer Pinup 3 - Concept Sketch

Here's a little update! This is actually the third illustration for the elven archer set, but I already had it sketched before part two, so I figured I'd share it. So far, I have the illustrations planned to go as follows: Illo 1: Establishing shot of her in the woodland ruins Illo 2: She discovers the wolf pack, while hidden illo 3: (this sketch) Conflict! illo 4: Aftermath. Standing on the field of battle, victorious.

On another note, I am considering doing 4 illustrations per character, at least on some of em. I am having a hard time limiting the sets to 3, and still have the sequential aspect of the illustrations make sense. XD

Wow! I can't believe how busy I've been the last several weeks! It's been tough, to say the least, to balance my freelance work, commissions, and this art book project. I've been putting in about 70-80 hour work weeks, and I am still lagging behind on a few things. I suppose as a freelance illustrator, that's a nice problem to have, though I think I have a little break coming up here, soon. The next step is to add some more detail and refine the placement of everything, which will provide me with a detailed sketch that I can ink and prepare for color. Elven Archer - Character Sheet

Here's a little peak at the new character for the next set of illustrations. My goal with all these characters is to be reminiscent of old school SNES RPG designs and archetypes, but to alter them enough so they stand out. There are a million green clad, blonde archer elves out there, but you don't see many with sun freckles on their cheeks and shoulders, or big clunky boots, so I hope my attempt at bridging a classic design with a unique flare worked. Elven Fighter Pinup 3 - Updated Sketch

I've updated the sketch, and its ready for inking! The merchant fellow on the dock got a visual overhaul, to make him look more like a successful merchant ship captain, with a sword and cape. and I did a added a bit more detail to the crew on the ship, as well as cleaning up and preparing the rest of the image for clean inking. Ok, now on the inks, and colors!

Phew! This one took a while to finish! But I am happy with how it turned out. The camera angle might be a bit much, but I like it, none the less. Ok, now for part three! I should have it finished by the end of the week.
