Network Q RAC Rally

Another game from my youth, and one that is fondly remembered. This is the 2nd game in the RAC Rally series, and it's an interesting one.

Caught in that era before full 3D games, but yet making the most of the 386 processor, we have a mixture of textures, sprites, graphical options and unrealistically sharp corners. All of this results in a damn likeable game, and a whole heap of nostalgia.

AT Games Mega Drive Flashback HD

Seen as I've covered that Chinese Fei Hao Mega Drive clone, it seemed only fair to take a look at the officially licenced AT Games machine.

I've heard terrible things about this, but I wanted to take a look myself to make sure it wasn't people just jumping on the moan wagon.

So here we are.

Happy New Year

Evening all.

Just a quick note to say THANK YOU immensely for your continued support over this year.

I literally wouldn't be able to keep doing this without your help, and for me it's been the best year so far.

So many plans for the next year, of which you'll be a huge part of.

Where-ever you are, I hope you have a tremendous & safe new year.

Toodles

1995 Xmas vs. 2017 Xmas

I was hoping to post this here earlier, but editing took longer than I'd imagined.

Anyway, here's my annual look at some Christmas catalogues. This time I thought it would be nice to do a comparison between 1995 and 2017.

Updated HD Mega Drive Video

A few updates and tweaks to the HD Mega Drive Video, including a good point raised by Matteusbeus; that Scart upscalers sometimes don't push RGB... a fact which became evident whilst I was shopping for one. So this is included in the video to make sure people don't fall into that particular trap.

Your feedback is the most important to me, so if you ever want to bring up something or comment, either drop one below, or send me a message (either through here or a DM on Twitter is usually best). View Post

Pushing the HD Mega Drive

Another very late night for me.

Please enjoy this fleeting moment of earliness regarding the HD Mega Drive clone.

Crash Annual 2018

A quick look at the Crash 2018 annual.

For those of you unaware, Crash was a monthly ZX Spectrum gaming magazine which ran from 1984 to 1992.

Probably my 2nd favourite Spectrum mag before Your Sinclair, so it's good to see it's return!

Updated "Media Mega Drive" Video

A few tweaks and updates for the Media Mega Drive Video. Mainly to clarify a few points and incorporate Hikari's comments about the batch numbers potentially being dates.. which makes perfect sense in the scheme of things.

Anyway, this video will be going live at 4pm today!

The Mystery of the "Media Mega Drive"

Gooood evening everyone,

Well, I say evening, it's just gone past midnight here, so technically it's morning, and I'm running late once again.

Anyhow, I present my next video regarding an obscure console known as the "Media Mega Drive".

Thanks! Pete

Handheld Console Rip Off (Early Access)

This is only a day early, but here's tomorrow's video for your viewing assessment.

Essentially, I was enticed by a Wish.com banner and bought a handheld console for £7. It's not actually that bad.

Huge Thanks

Just a quick video to express my sincere gratitude for your continuing support. I've now hit my overall Patreon goal which is incredibly pleasing & humbling (I'd better set a new one!).

The fact that incredibly generous folks like yourselves have supported me on this adventure, has meant I can focus on this completely, which is frankly all I want to do. It's also meant that in the last 2 weeks I've been able to source some studio space to create higher quality productions.

I'll...

Sensible Golf (early access)

Good evening/morning all,

Apologies for the sparse last couple of weeks, or indeed, if I haven't yet replied to messages you've sent me.

I've been intensely busy and working on a couple of things for the channel, which will be revealed in due course.

In the mean time I offer you a small item to occupy your vision... Here's a late night review of a game which I spent a lot of time dipping in and out of in the 90s, for your viewing pleasure/displeasure.

Attack of the Flickering Skeletons - Giveaway

Good afternoon friends,

I hope your weekend is so far acceptable.

I have bagged a copy of Ashen's new book, "Attack of the Flickering Skeletons", which contains a section written by my very own fingers.

Stuart has scrawled across it, and so have I. But if that doesn't put you off then drop your name or a comment below (or just like the post) and I'll pick a random person out of some kind of hat to bestow this book upon.

We'll see if this give-away method works. In futur...

Operation Wolf in VR

For those of you, like myself, who tend to be around at a late hour, here is tomorrow's (or should I say, today's) video for your viewing discretion.

It's essentially a quick review of Operation Warcade, with some throwback elements and light comparison to Operation Wolf which is now 30 years old (good grief!).

Operation Warcade is a VR game, but because of this, it manages to capture the feeling of the original arcade game almost perfectly.

Norcon 7 Youtube Panel (Saturday)

Terrible audio I know, but here's Saturday's panel.

This is when we knew what we were doing even less. We were the first stage appearance of the weekend, and it shows.

I think some of the audience would have preferred to have heard about how to get into Youtube as there were lots of kids about who seemed interested in that aspect during the day. That probably would have made for a more positive and productive session, but instead we answer bizarre questions about eating numbers.

Norcon 7 Youtube Panel

Here's the Youtube panel from Norcon 7 with myself, Caddicarus and the guys from Did You Know Gaming. This was Sunday's panel at 10am (far too early).

Unfortunately we had to grab an extra chair so the camera positioning pretty much cuts me off, but what can you do.

Not sure if I'll make this public, so for the moment it's a Patron exclusive.

But not the externals... oh no. This is all about the internals.

From Zillions to Millions

I'm actually ahead of schedule this week, so here's Friday's video as another ad-free early access.

For this video I decided to explore the Sega Light Phaser and it's connection to a "Zillion" laser tag gun which looks identical. That connection was enough for me to find out exactly what was going on here, and I'm glad I did, as the story proved more interesting than I had expected.

Jurassic Park Visitor Center

Early access to Wednesday's video covering the Jurassic Park Visitor Centre cover by Jeff Lindsay.

He's managed to re-create the visitor centre from the SNES version of Jurassic Park within Unity, and I must say, it makes for some dinosaur breaking fun.

Bad Influence, Luxury Consoles

An early access Bad Influence episode for your viewing pleasure/displeasure.

I remember this episode from 23rd September 1993 well, mainly because it had a load of cutting edge consoles to salivate over.

Plus there's some MULTIMEDIA.... in the form of Dinosaurs for the PC.

Splendid.

Chatting, etc.

Good evening/morning friends,

Just a reminder that as a Patron, you get access to join the chat on my Discord server.  Just clink the link above to jump on board.

I'll be hanging around in there on a more frequent basis hopefully, for some general relaxed chat. Just like the Yahoo! Chat rooms of the 90s.

Other Youtubers like DJ Slope, Kim Justice and Larry Bundy Jr. will also be making an appearance from time to time.

GBR Thrifts Episode #8

I've got an early release of GBR Thrifts Episode #8 for your viewing pleasure/displeasure.

I was fortunate to stumble on some particularly pleasing finds this time around. Some of which I'll be using for projects in the future.

DMA, IRQ & Ports (Byte Size), Early Access

Good evening fellow people,

New Byte Size video if it takes your fancy. This time, I'm exploring the fabled land of IRQ levels, DMA channels and I/O ports.

I'm sure many of you, like me, associate this heavily with getting your Soundblaster card to work with games in the 80s and 90s.

So, I thought I'd delve into their workings.

90s VR & Experiencing Modern VR

Good morning my good fellows of Patreon.

I thought I'd dish out an exclusive video this morning; I've recently ~somehow~ managed to get my hands on an Oculus Rift, and I wanted to share my first experiences of it with you, and babble on a bit about how it compares to the promises of VR we had some 25 years ago.

Stay tuned for an in depth look at VR in the future.

Also, please save this Playlist link, which will contain all current and future Patreon exclusive videos... 2017-07-15 09:29:16 +0000 UTC View Post

VHS Time Capsule (Early Access)

Bit of sneak - late night - early access for my next video, currently entitled.... VHS Time Capsule.... You can probably get the gist of the contents from that.

(if you can't, then feel free to suggest a new title!)

I'm just renewing the end credits for this month, so if you can't see your name on the list (and it should be on the list), then it'll be on the next vid!

Reward Updates

Good evening my fellow peoples,

I wanted to let you know that I've updated some of the Patreon reward tiers.

I've added some new rewards to existing tiers and also created some brand new reward tiers altogether.

I'm not sure when I'll do an actual video informing "the people" about these changes, but I wanted to let you guys know first.

Drop me a message or comment below if there's anything you want to know!

That's all for now! Thank you & Ba-Byeeee.

I thought you guys might appreciate seeing this. It's MY FACE, taken from my Youtube header and created by @Horsenburger, found at https://www.horsenburger.com/

It's for Ashen's new book, which he asked me to write a quick guest section for.

That's it really. Just wanted to share it with you guys as I thought it was pretty neat.

Anyway, have a great weekend if I don't speak to you beforehand!
