We're looking for a hardware reviewer in NC!

http://www.gamersnexus.net/site-news/2480-gn-hiring-hardware-reviewers-in-nc

Hey everyone!

The site is growing fast. We're bottlenecking hard on my ability to keep up with both editorial and video content, and so we've begun the search for a hardware reviewer for the site. You can find all information about what we're looking for here:

We Survived Asia! (Barely).

We survived our trip to Asia! During the trip, we visited Taipei, Shenzhen (China), Dongguan (China), Hong Kong, and Macau. We almost got trapped in the Shenzhen airport at one point -- the staff couldn't figure out how to get Keegan's ticket to work, and after two hours of failing to communicate (and eventually arguing) in languages that neither party understood, I had to make a management decision: Screw the flights. We'll take a boat.

I wasn't going to strand one of my staff in Sh...

What We're Working On: Asia Trip

Team GN is -- as I type this -- over the Pacific. We've embarked upon the 24-hour trip to get from the East Coast to Taipei, Taiwan, where we'll be touring local HQs, factories, and the Computex tradeshow. In between now and the show (May 31 - June 4), we'll bounce up to Shenzhen, China to visit the NZXT factory and (hopefully) visit a computer electronics mall. Very excited about the mall visits, as we've got nothing quite like them in the states. Seems like a fantastic content opportunity.

Mysterious Box from Unnamed Hardware Vendor

http://www.gamersnexus.net/industry/2419-mystery-orderof10-box-mentions-fermi-we-are-decoding-it

This was a fun day. Upon waking, I was greeted with a briefcase enshrining only a single object: A black triangle with a code on it. Over the course of the entire day, we worked with five other media outlets ( View Post

Another Station, Another Mile

(Above photo of our team by Jim Vincent, friend of the site and photographer).

This year's been insane. We've been bouncing between states (and soon... continents) for tradeshows, getting first-hand information from engineers and representatives on all the latest hardware.

The year started with CES in Las Vegas. We soon ended up in California (San Francisco) for GDC, then home for a week or two, then in San Jose for GTC, then home for a week... then in Boston for PAX East. We've ...

UltraWide Benchmark!

We /MIGHT/ be doing more of these UltraWide tests with CPUs or other graphics settings. For now, however, let this serve as our first major test for 3440x1440 resolution gaming. A big undertaking, but lots of fun.

Generally, it appears that UW resolutions are much more playable than we initially hypothesized. If you're willing to sacrifice some graphics quality, getting by on mid-range cards is not unreasonable. Granted, few people would buy a $700-$1000+ monitor and throw a 960 into the r...

Corsair 400C Review & Benchmark

This one was a big undertaking. You may have seen with the Manta review that we've begun testing fairly complex cooling scenarios when compared to standard stock testing. The Corsair 400C continued that effort, and is the last video we'll shoot WITHOUT using our new camera glidetrack system (featured in the iBUYPOWER Revolt 2 review, and soon to be used in all our videos).

Check out the content above!

Also, as some behind-the-scenes info: Just finished building-out our second lab...

Major Content: NZXT Manta Review

We're working on three case reviews this week -- Corsair's 400C is next, followed by Phanteks' P400 -- and recent changes to methodology mean those case reviews are the most comprehensive on the web.

Our recent NZXT Manta review is something we're particularly proud of, having benchmarked multiple different case fan locations and radiator mounting positions. The video for that is above. The article can be found here: 2016-01-26 21:35:23 +0000 UTC View Post

Hey everyone - Patreon Group Chat on Skype!

Just a friendly reminder that we have a Patrons-only group chat with GN's Patreon community and staff. We've had a few good discussion topics in the past few days, including talks on overclocking, multi-GPUs, and case design. You can join the chat by clicking this link (Skype link):

Crazy successful CES!

Hey everyone,

Have you been watching our CES coverage? We've been talking about it in the Patreon-backers group chat on Skype.

I had a lot of fun coordinating CES this year. The hardware industry is booming with tech: Pascal's around the corner, AMD showcased Polaris (w...

What We're Working On

Making this one visible to everyone!

We've got a lot going on. I just took my first vacation in an extremely long time, but worked a minimum of 4 hours per day all the way through it. That means content was slower through the weekend, but we've got a lot coming out this week to make up for it. You may have already seen our Corsair 600C case review -- big undertaking as we completely overhauled our case test methodology for it. If you missed it, the video is on the YT channel and article is...

Interesting Benchmark Results

http://www.gamersnexus.net/game-bench/2195-assassins-creed-syndicate-gpu-fps-benchmarks

Too many benchmarks, really. We've been at it non-stop for a few weeks now -- but lots of fun to see how the new games are interacting with hardware!

The Assassin's Creed Syndicate benchmark is, to me, the most interesting of them all. I'll be honest in stating that I am ...

Fallout 4 CPU Benchmark

http://www.gamersnexus.net/game-bench/2182-fallout-4-cpu-benchmark-huge-performance-difference

We don't often conduct CPU benchmarks. They require a lot more time, a lot more methodology, and more build/unbuild involvement. It's not as easy as swapping a card and some drivers.

This benchmark shows that, interestingly, Fallout 4 does not run very ...

We Just Upgraded Our Audio-Video Arsenal!

Hey backers! This one's only to you.

Check this stuff out! Super happy with our equipment setup these days. The set wall is done, as many of you know, but we've next got to sand, stain, and finish the official set desk (seen in the above photo in its unfinished form).

Anyway, here's that audio system we've been talking about! A pair of Sennheiser G3 wireless lavs with a Zoom H6N recorder, making for insane audio quality. Very excited about the forthcoming videos. We just shot 3 t...

Overclocking the SeaHawk 980 Ti

Lots of new supporters & our plans!

Hey everyone,

We've suddenly found ourselves stricken with a lot of new Patrons & supporters, and for that, we're hugely appreciative. Building the crowd-funded initiative will help us continue to produce high-quality, independent content that drives straight to the heart of a topic. Our independence means that we're able to speak the truth freely when it comes to product reviews, and that's a rare sight in today's media market.

We're working on a new Ask GN episode today, in...
