Phewh! Here is a cover for my imaginary edition of Dune (or, probably, for my non-imaginary Dune zine???) - but it's also a more complex (meaning "expensive" XD) Patreon commission. Killing two flies with one blow here, hehe!
Working on the piece was so intense, especially since my lazy ass don't own any masking fluid for watercolor - and you can probably deduct the level of seriousness of business here from the process pics and the amount of items I had to us...

Inked this one digitally once again, but was wise enough to save some process pics! Here you can see how I sometimes go back and forth between inking and screentoning - something that wouldn't work so natural with traditional media (I keep my inks and markers separate), bur happens very fluently in MangaStudio. It's almost like I'm... sculpting the shapes? very interesting.

Huge thanks to everybody attending the recent event! The crowd was quite impressive, and I was so happy to see dozens of familiar names in the chat list <3
I slapped together a sped-up video of my Zoom drawing process (I spent the entire 1,5 hours meeting scribbling our old lad!), but full version of the recording should be out somewhere sometime, too.

I wasn't quite happy with the previous drawing of Stilgar (the brutish characterization of him there felt off?), plus the composition on than thing was more fitting to the new section of drawings of different factions of the world... So, long story short, we have a new Stiglar now! ^_^
Big Hamid Savkuev vibes here; and If you're unfamiliar with the artist, I can't recommend looking up hi...

First page of out Dagger Dagger story is officially finished!
You can see how insanely detailed were my pencils on this thing - mainly because I used a lot of the detailed sketches you've seen here before to compose it.
I'm also using the paper I one time got from Ikea furniture packaging because it's very nice, grainy and yellow. One mistake, though, is using cold gray markers - after finishing the page I immediately went and re-stocked on warm grey ones. it'll help with...

Please register now to get our Zoom conference link on Saturday! Come, chat, ask questions, listen to us talk, see me draw! I'm probably going to give away the drawing I'll make in the process?
(I'm hella nervous and shy T__T Probably gonna be very quiet or do Eastern Promises impressions!)

I'm kidding! This one is just a commission.... FOR NOW ;)

I'm sorry that I have to humblebrag here for a moment, but I think I'm getting too good at this?!! Like, what's even the difference between some of A3 or A4 commissions??? :D
You heard me right, folks - this one is a mere A4 piece, but I kinda got carried away--

For a character as inconsiderable as him, Captain Nefud strangely occupies quite a lot of space in my heart - mostly because of his portrayal by Jack Nance, I think?
Anyway, this was the very last page of my first Dune sketchbook. I will probably make a video flipping through it cover to cover sometime soon!
And I want to say this: thank you for sticking with me, people. Times are getting rough for me again - at least mentally - so I'm basically doing this stuff to cop...

Went incredibly abstract with this old crone! I'll draw more of Bene Gesserit ladies in a more proper fashion, but for The Cuuuube and famous gom jabbar I wanted something really special.

So here, with introduction of spreads and color, I'm thinking more and more about how this book could be formatted and printed, how deep into the book series I want to go, and if I want to divide it into volumes (like my Souls Love zines) or make it in one thick mini-tome, maybe even hardcover, in a year from now?
(Also, seeing them presented together, can you guess why Lady Jessica and Duncan sit in more or less the same pose and why I want them to be on the same page spre...

Went full John Schoenherr on that one, but I have no regrets! The only other option in drawing thopters is to go full Alex Jay Brady, really. And that's it. No other way around.
Also - I can show you a rejected Guild Navigator drawing I did back in August. A decent creature design, I guess, but I got completely carried away with biological approach to this fella, and in the end for me it doesn't work AT ALL T__T

Welp, Dagger Dagger is definitely going to be our Slavic Nihilism tier "content" for the months of September and October! The story and world itself are 100% in the vein of stuff me and Artyom Doomov have been meaning to do together in one form or another for ages, and before Dagger Dagger came around, my plan for it was "put it in Slavic Nihilism #6 or #7, I dunno man, p...

So, these drawings were actually made for a possible TTRPG rulebook, and my fingers are crossed very tightly for more of this book happening soon, because at the moment I am ABSOLUTELY HORNY about drawing something for non-comics printed publications - roleplaying systems specifically. And doing something for video games would be pretty fun, too! ANything nice and fresh that could help me stop thinking about how much money I'm going to make this or next year with the help of my comics while t...

Check out couple of designs for our TPB cover! Image's design team sometimes does true wonders. The red one is final, so we're calling it The Red Book now. We're also going to make the next volume's TPB green, call it The Green Book, and it will either be absolute shit OR fix all the racial issues in America.

My favorite pages of the book are probably in other issues, but this issue as a whole right now is not only my favorite of the run, but also my absolute favorite issue out of all the books I've done so far.
(And yes, spiteful Tyom is still using the old series title ^_____^)
Also: last two pages of the issue were fully digital! For some reason. I think I wanted to draw the berries from the last page in a very particular manner, and it was easier in MangaStudio?

Between some of the two figures commissions and Gundam commissions, I'm losing my grip on how complicated and time-consuming these things are getting :D But (thanks to this page and impeccable tastes of my patrons) I have months worth of work with great and interesting characters, and it's really fun to turn these commissions in little challenges for myself.

Sometimes a tiny sketch you draw in a copy of your zine comes out so perfect that you have no choice but to redraw it as a full page spread a year or so later. Happened to you too, right? This is why I love process of half-conscious (or would you call it half-automated?) drawing so much. Do something very small, very tiny, very breezy, and it comes out better than if you were to spend an hour in from of a large canvass.
Still working on beginning of the next chapter of Cherno...
