Elyden roadmap 2022

A bit late for this (we’re almost 1/6th of the way through the new year already!) but better late than never!

This year, I really want to make a push to get a few long ‘gestating’ projects done, including the Encyclopaedia Elyden and the Atlas Elyden. I’ll touch upon both below.

Atlas Elyden #88 - the Kharkharadontid Wastes (High-res)

Here's the latest entry for the Atlas Elyden, and it's the smallest scale map I've made for the Atlas project so far. Don't let the word small throw you off though, as this is one of those counterintuitive phrases that always gets me mixed up - small scale means that the maps show a large area... and what an area it is!

Atlas Elyden #87 - Sarastroan Church

I'm trying my hand at making more cross-section maps, and here is the latest result - a Sarastroan Church. I can see a slight improvement over the previous map, though still have a long way to go until I'm at a level that I'm really comfortable sharing.

If you have any suggestions or criticisms please let me know, as I really want to get better at these styles of maps.

It is rough, and pretty-barebones, but it was a fun waste of an hour. plus, this is the first time that I have had a physical representation of the world.

Atlas Elyden #84 - Sammaean Caravanserai

I'm a sucker for a good cross-section illustration. I was reading a recent national Geographic and came across a nice cross-section of a gladiator school and it inspired me to try my hand at something similar, so I made this. I'm not much of an artist, but really do enjoy making these sorts of maps, but need to practice a more painterly approach to making these.

Atlas Elyden #81 - the Sea of Lethea

Here's the latest entry for the Atlas Elyden - another thematic map detailing the Sea of Lethea. Over the past year-or-so, I've been slowly detailing the nations surrounding this sea, and I'm now pleased to say that I'm finally done -  this is the second major sea of Elyden that I have finished detailing now!

Over the coming weeks I'll start posting more thematic maps, detailing things like time-zones, trade-routes, caravanserais, pilgrimages and so-on.

Clones lore - WIP

Bonus Map! Lugdchan

I had started working on a city map a long time ago and never finished it so thought I'd come back to it so see what the final map looks like.

I'm pleased with the result, though as always, there's room for improvement.

Not sure If I want to add city maps in this style to the Atlas Elyden maps yet - perhaps if a map has room to add an inset I could add a small city map instead of a text box.

A Pamphlet RPG for Elyden

I had some time to waste and came up with a cute (if I can use such a word for Elyden) pamphlet RPG for the world. These little RPGs are quite popular now and I thought it would be a good exercise in trying to distil the world down into less than 2 A4 pages worth of space. 

Its probably unbalanced, and there's probably lots of loopholes that can be exploited and there are no rules for levelling up (no one survives that long in Elyden...) though if it proves to be popular I may writ...
