This one is taking me a little while! There's quick and dirty ways I've written this before but given how clean our base inventory was I wanted to write something good/generic to match it with the mouse control.
I opted for a state machine controlled 'mouse' object that deals with all mouse operations on the inventory. I like this because it very cleanly separates the different states the mouse can be in and gives you room to keep this apart from any other UI interactions without runni...

First two minutes are strictly info, the following seven are background, opinion, etc.

The script is done for ARPG ep51!
Every week the end has felt so close and yet so far, every bit of work revealing yet a little bit more work that needed doing. But here we finally (finally) ((finally)) are.

Actually buying items from the shop! Most of this is handled by the dialogue + responses system we set up way back when with a new function for giving you the items themselves and deducting the money.

Weird topic to cover 44 episodes in but here we are! Mostly a bit of a cleanup episode and episode 45 is going to be similar. There's a few things we've glossed over or put off that are very minor changes and fixes and content that needs creating to get us to where the original Demo was.

So I talked a little while ago about how I wanted to find a way to streamline producing the credits sequence on my videos. This episode has been 'done' for a little while but I had some rendering difficulties. I've picked up a new M2 harddrive that I hope will speed a few things up as I realize I've been relying on a lot of footage being held on my slower but bigger HDD for a while now.

In continued efforts by YoYo to render my old tutorial work entirely obsolete you can now automatically create nine slices in version 2.3.2 without any scripting whatsoever!
In version 2.3.2 (currently in beta, due for imminent release) you can define nine slices on a sprite by sprite basis and even set the repeat/stretch settings for each individual edge!
