Every day the Oberon SSK Sub Brief grows. Some of you have shared photos and stories of your family member's service. That is really exciting for me to hear your personal stories.
Because we are dealing with 27 Cold War submarines in the brief, I am going to make it in 2 parts that will come out this month. First will be the 13 Royal Navy Oberon subs and all their exploits. That should be out by Friday, August 7th.
Afterward, I will turn my attention to the 4 cou...

Here are all the Oberons submarines built. This info will be included in the Sub Brief, but I wont be spending 10 minutes reading it in the video. This is for your reference. The scale of this brief is much larger than I anticipated, so it will be a little while before it's done. I'll be posting updates and photos here until it's finished. Thanks for being patient.

This is the most specific torpedo tube drawing I have seen outside the Navy. The Oberon SSK uses 2500 air to eject weapons from the forward tubes.

I am working my way through the history of the O-class boats. Built in 4 different shipyards and deployed from 5 different countries. It's story is as intricate as it is interesting.

'Yankee' Sub Brief research complete!
I've spent over 100 hours with my nose in design documents, ship's log books, on conference calls and on research websites. The Sub Brief is put together. I'll be recording and editing it this week and published next week, a week ahead of scheduled release.
Supply Officers and above will get their special content a day early.
Everyone gets the Sub Brief at the same time.

Yankee Sidecar was a test platform for one of two missile complexes that would be used on future Soviet/Russian naval platforms.
There is an incredible amount of data and detail coming up in the Yankee SSBN Sub Brief. The original design was not the first design and Project 667A was modified 6 additional times. The Yankee submarine is the Swiss army knife of the Cold War. Release date is estimated to be end of July 2020.

The Oscar class SSGN was a marvel of engineering designed to sink American carrier fleets. In reality, it would have cause havoc and sunk many ships in the U.S. convoy fleet including an aircraft carrier.

The events of 1973 were eerily similar to the events that sunk the submarine 13 years later.
In 1986, the missile watch standers and the officer in charge (weapons officer) knew tube 6 leaked sea water a month before the September 1986 deployment off the coast of Bermuda and DID NOT TELL THE CAPTAIN!
The watch was instructed, by the weaps, to use high pressure air to blow water out of missile tube 6 every day to keep the tube dry. On October 4th, 1986 the missile watch...
