A side idea + Adeleine's hair

The current episode clip I'm working on is almost finished. This scene I'm making will be huge and the highlight of the episode. Right now, I have it divided in 15 clips that, so far, took about a month each but some will be much shorter than others, so I don't think it should take over 10 month to have it done. Once it is done, though, the episode will be at 45%.

While finishing it and polishing it, I wanna work on this small thing. A four-pages story with no dialogue other than "HA!" ...

Adeleine has to go somewhere quick, let's turn the TV off and follow her. She's doesn't seem to explain things a lot but she looks like she knows what she's doing. So get ready for a bumpy ride!

Doing a little video clips while working on episodes help since I'm not just working on the same thing non-stop. Even if it's still animating, at least you get the feeling of completion when a smaller video is done.

A bicycle ride with Adeleine

I've never drawn bicycles before, let alone animated one. This is going to be interesting, I don't think it'll be too bad as it doesn't look complicated at all, it's just the very first time.

This bike is Adeleine's main means of transport when she needs to travel long distances on Green Grounds. She usually just walks but some of her clients live far away from her. Don't be fooled by her pokerface, she tends to be a speed demon. The Company will learn that very soon.

The 4K-pening.

So, I was exporting the second clip I've finished for episode 8 and then an idea appeared out of nowhere: "Can PhotoMosh(not sponsored) handle a 4K video and export it with all of its custom effects?"

So our research team experimented on PhotoMosh(not sponsored) and came back with the test results: "Yes." Adeleine doesn't seem to impressed but she'll realize PhotoMosh(not sponsored)'s potential soon enough.

Getting ready for more backgrounds!

As I was sketching a background for the current clip I'm working on, I got carried away and imagined how most of the room would look. In the episode, only the part within the red rectangle will be shown but I want to use this for a future thing.

I added extra Adeleines to help with perspective. The wall next to the fridge needs some adjustments.

Mojo back!

The last month has been pretty funky, my motivation took a slight dive but it came back yesterday and now I'm back to where I was at the beginning of the month. Tomorrow, I'll be making backgrounds for this clip and finishing the sounds.

Also, have a thing I started over a year ago. I don't plan on that height comparison thing to be a sketch, I'd like to add more characters and have completed artwork for each person I'll put on it.

Again, it's another sketch... But, I have an idea...

KG8, 2 months in.

This second clip is mostly done animation-wise. GlumOne has his keyframes done and only needs inbetweens in order to be completed, which should only take a day. This clip is taking longer than I thought it would be I like it. Maybe I'll be tweeking things a bit once it's done.

Affection

A little thing I was drawing while working on episode 8. I've only drawn these two interacting in an affectionate way once before but all of that pre2022 stuff isn't canon anymore, so, I guess that makes up for it.

While I like my stuff gritty, trashy, edgy and weird, I also like drawing things that make me all fuzzy. And since I want this series to be somber, it would make moments like these more enjoyable. Even when the world hates your guts, you may have someone who's got your back.<...

'Cause clean is better than dirty,

and dirty is meaner than clean. CutesyOne seems to have understood the wonders of water and he's ready to share that freshly acquired knowledge with everyone.

This little thing is part of the 20 seconds left to animate before I jump to the backgrounds of that clip. I want to have The General and at least CutesyOne done tonight so I can focus on backgrounds and audio on the week-end, like I  usually do.

2018 and 2019 collection

I talked about these projects recently. "Twinkle Twinkle PoPoPo" and the other one after it simply referred to as "Project Mirror"  were my second and third attempt at a Kirby series (The first one turned into my main series: "IRÔH!").

Upadate on the second clip

I'm almost done with this second clip of the episode. Note that I never work in order, this might be for scene 1, 4 or 8, who knows. I streamed most of this animation's process on Twitch, except the sketching phase. I will do more streams in the future on the next clips.

After I finish the animation, add the colours and fix the perspective on the table that's been bothering me for a good 5 minutes now, I'll only have a short 15ish seconds thing to do before moving on to the backgrounds!...

Hey, what's up?

Now that I've finished playing my video game, I'm back at it!

Episode 8 is still being worked on since mid-March and it's going smoothly! I really want to have a second clip fully finished for mid-April. Unlike the last episode, I will try to have this one in 4K but we'll see how it goes.

Also, here's a new Adeleine sketch that I think could make a nice poster for long-time supporters. She looks ready to spend the afternoon hanging out with someone... I want to call this one "Late...

A cup of tea to start the day?

The second clip I'm working on for episode 8. I'll try to have cleaner sketches when animating. It should make it easier for myself when cleaning things up. This one should be faster to make than the first clip which only took 3 weeks, including the audio and backgrounds.

The weekly goal is to have Adeleine fully animated and  either the audio or backgrounds finished before the 25th. I was also sick for 2 weeks but I'm getting much better and feeling ready to kick ass!

Posters ideas! (Can't decide which version for the 3rd one)

I've been drawing these ideas over the last 2 hours. I want to turn these into A2 sized posters (40x60cm/16.5x23.4") and send some to supporters who'd like them alongside stickers for the higher tiers people. I'm happy with the results so far, I think they all capture Guardian Adeleine perfectly: Cool Mom, Gentle Giant, Tough Cookie!

Poster2 even includes her younger selves for Maximum Adeleining! And you may have noticed that while the "Reincarnation" arc is happening, Present-time Ade...

Currently shmooving on Episode 8.

Hey everyone! Just a small update. I'm currently in the zone with episode 8 and got  one clip done already, which includes audio and backgrounds. I don't know how many clips long this episode will be but I've been working really fast. Every (couple of) episode, I have a different workflow just so I can find the best one and I believe this is it.

I'm back

First of all, welcome aboard, newcomers! I'm glad to have you here, thank you so much for helping ya boi out! I'm back from my little break, finally got to play Metroid Dread and added more to KG8's script.

While this won't be as action packed as the previous episode, a lot will be there to animate, which includes Adeleine whose frames take much more time than The Company's but it will still be a joy to make nonetheless. I've got all the scenes down, I've had that script for almost two ...

PhotoMosh Pro is really good for effects like these. I've been using it non stop on recent gifs and illustrations I've been making. Before buying it, I was using Paint.NET which is very good but PM allows for more wacky edits.

I've also been playing around with masks and textures on Flash. Adding a watercolour Overlay texture is what gave it this painted look that's reminiscent of Kirby Mass Attack's illustrations.

Everything about this episode will be done tonight. I just have this thumbnail to finish, little jingles to add to the episode and checking if the audio is well balanced. I also got myself some Five Guys to reward myself. (Not sponsored, I swear). The episode should be released tomorrow around this hour.

I'm doing it!

The entire animation process of episode 7 is DONE. Fini. Terminé. Ende. El Fin. Now, I just have to add the audio for this last scene, add  some mouth movements, export it, fixing eventual issues, make a thumbnail and make the Patreon screen.

If I can manage to do that before the 15th, then I'll be able to share the episode here first. I've got this, the last 4 days... I can do it. Thank you for supporting me while I'm working on this series.

Today is finally the day. Adeleine has dreamed about living on her own on the Popopo Islands, this achipelago located at the south of Popstar. She will be leaving Dream Land but will bring with her all the memories she had of this country, growing up.

She will still visit King and the Waddle dees at least once a year. Despite being neglectful, loud and rude, King was always there for her and unlike her regal guardian, Adeleine does not forget.

This shall be the second to last post before episode 7 is finally completed. I have 2 days off next week so hopefully I can finish the entire animation process before Saturday.

Here's how episode 7 will look. It doesn't even take too long to have it look like this. I used to only change characters' hue and value starting episode 1 but I've been playing around with Flash and decided to push it to its limits.
