The To-do List, part 124.

Luckily, Leynisevich's place has high ceilings.

Yeah, Gustav might have opinions on the matter. Quite strong ones, even.

So I thought I'd run this tale from 1998 as a Sunday naughtie. Spent the morning trying to dig out the original scans of the pages. Could not find 'em, so I finally gave up and re-scanned the original art.

Which is inked by Terrie Smith, from my pencils. I think Terrie has a Patreon, too? I'll check around and let you know by next Sunday.

Still haven't managed to dig out the time & energy to make more Cartoon History of Iceland pages. How did I manage to be so effortlessly productive, back in the day? Oh yeah! No wife, house, dog and car to take care of. Adulting doesn't always get easier with time.

So here's another Golden Oldie to hold ya until I steal time from some other project to work on the Cartoon History one.

Yes, that's a reference to the "Clang Honk Tweet!" of the Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers getting high. I figured the Mink had earned herself a light-hearted episode, after all the grim stuff she'd been through.

Been a busy day, but late as it is, this still counts as a Wednesday post.

That said, I like the line "There's only one way to stop out of control bakery!". I wonder if I'm the first to ever use it?

Having been clambering all over the scenery, is no reason not to stop and enjoy the view.

Gonna try to make this page free access. How dangerous are imaginary cartoon dragoness nipples considered to be, these days? I lose track.

Yep, this is posted late in the day. Been busy all day, and it's not looking better for tomorrow.

I had absolutely no hope of completing a Cartoon History of Iceland page today, so here's a olden moldy, I mean golden oldie from 35 years ago to serve as a stand-in for a page of the history of a small pile of volcanic rocks in the middle of the Atlantic.

I'm about Leynisevich's age, but even so, I still don't have this whole "grownup" thing nailed down. I still stumble from time to time.

I finally heard back from Patreon. They said:

"The new editor is still pretty fresh for all of us, and I’ve genuinely been trying to help you figure out a way to make your posts both paid and publicly viewable at the same time. From everything you’ve described—and after going through all the available settings—it looks like this setup just isn’t possible right now. Even when you lower the paywall to show the post, it still appears locked to the public."

You don'...

Beware cowards in command of armies.

Still can't do public access to paid posts. Is there a Patreon forum where users of this platform can share workarounds for it's awful interface?

Here I go again, trying to make this post public. I wish to hell Patreon would go back to the previous interface that actually worked. But of course they won't, because that would mean admitting they'd made a big, fat mistake.

As for this page, the colonial governors had a perennial problem enforcing the King's will in Iceland. Keeping, paying and provisioning a troop of soldiers in Iceland made no financial sense in this poor, mostly peaceful country. But without thugs, what are you...

Bauer's bunch is building power the old-fashioned way, one voter at a time. Mink might find it is no longer so easy to spank him and make him behave.

It's a question that's bothered me: How come there are smart Nazis? Why would anyone with brains want to become a Nazi?

Huh! Seems I managed to make the previous Scram the Ram post a paying one. Maybe? Now let's see if I can make this one free, but limit it to the membership.....because it has huge ol' dragoness titties on full display. Which is entirely imaginary and harmless, but don't get me started on the hypocritical bullshit of Puritans.

Latest chapter of the ongoing disaster that is Patreon's new user interface: When I tried to post yesterday's post as a paid post that nevertheless was open to the public, I was forbidden to post unless I picked a tier. But there were no tiers available in the paid post menu - only the free one. It seems I can either post a page for free, or not post it at all. This strikes me as a blow at Patreon's reason for existence. Their business plan was to allow dedicated fans of an artist to support ...

The good wife and I had a little adventure today, so I once again have no time to color in the Icelandic History page. But I've scored a set of felt tip markers, so the coloring will commence as soon as time allows.

Meanwhile, Patreon claims there's a way to both charge for a post, AND make it public. It seems severely counter-intuitive to me - I'd never have guessed it if "Mikey" hadn't told me the secret of it. Of course, since I suspect "Mikey" is an AI bot, it might be hallucinat...

Hey hey, Laura - Lukas is technically your employee! But I'm fairly sure he's not going to file a sexual harassment complaint.

The boys that the Mink can call upon in a pinch, are quite the colorful lot...

The settings for Patreon pages have been changed yet again, so I have no idea if I'm charging for this post or not, or if it's even publicly accessible. I wish the interface designers would stop trying to justify their jobs by constantly tinkering with the code - And in 98% of cases, making it worse.

The wife and kids are out of state, seeing her dad before cancer kills him (Have I mentioned I hate cancer?). So I'm left with their chores as well as my own. And the Koch-book people are getting impatient for results, too. Ergo, my free time's a tad limited. So I haven't been able to claw together the hours required to color in today's Icelandic History page. Hopefully, I'll replace this black-and-white version with the color version when I finally have it done, OK?
