Added 2025-07-20 19:21:42 +0000 UTCLatest chapter of the ongoing disaster that is Patreon's new user interface: When I tried to post yesterday's post as a paid post that nevertheless was open to the public, I was forbidden to post unless I picked a tier. But there were no tiers available in the paid post menu - only the free one. It seems I can either post a page for free, or not post it at all. This strikes me as a blow at Patreon's reason for existence. Their business plan was to allow dedicated fans of an artist to support their art directly, with Patreon taking a small cut of the $$$ for their trouble, yes? But if the artists can't charge for their postings, there's no longer any basis for Patreon. It seems nobody explained to their programmer what Patreon is supposed to be doing?
