been a while since i sat down to paint something more elaborate for myself!

i started this one in january, when i had friends over and we were collectively very hype about the witcher and made a bunch of OCs. this is a sister of my witcher lass, a pretty quiet and unassuming thing, but with ears and eyes always open, taking in the secrets of the castle and its inhabitants.

i picked it up again, see some things needing tweaking, so here's hoping i'll be able to show you the result ...

some studies! only one of these i took more liberties with, and i think it's pretty visible which~ ive been trying to get better at capturing likeness and drawing what i see as opposed to what i think something looks like, and pay attention to colours and picking them by hand on the first try as opposed to messing with the colours afterwards like i sometimes do. they all came out a lil more washed out than i'd have liked, i'm not as bold with my values as i could be ;; but these were...

i've been trying to focus more on backgrounds and scenes lately, and i'm slowly chipping away at this bad boy trying to include stupid amount of details that will definitely end up obscured. the goal is to have two scenes with different lightings using the same setting, but we will see what ends up happening!

all major perspective related details have been placed and it's time to add relaxing bits like pizza boxes and a looot of knicknacks.

i did some doodling and colour studies this month!

the tiny doodles are my takes on characters from king falls am, a podcast i've been binging lately; the studies are to help me amp up my colour theory.

i like to make my paintings more realistic, and i think colour plays a bigger part in that than form - so while i find these quite wonky (apart from the girl with plaits, jenny nicholson, i'm happy with her face haha) i think i got the colours quite right.

i'm taking april off, pausing patreon for a month. 

patreon will not charge you on april 1st, so you don't need to worry about changing anything on your end. (i still have some stuff to post this month, too!)

step 1 of the meme; i jumped on the bandwagon in our polish artists discord server, and i'm very happy with how this is coming together. granted, i stayed up until 5am to finish it, but i'm glad i did because it reminded me i still possess the stamina to sketch something self-indulgent for so long. which is confidence that comes and goes surprisingly often!

a while ago i posted a challenge, where a character prompts was a plant srocerer and an item prompt was a mummified goblin hand ! i did it all in procreate and this is how i went about it.
