UL1 Book 10 - Chapter 1

“I’m sorry, but does anyone else not have a problem with this choice?” Sog asked. “Surely you cannot expect people to worship and revere us if a rabbit is the herald who tells our story to everyone who enters your temple.”

“And you think a demon in a is a better herald?” Cordellia replied. “That’s not even considering the story you had her tell.”

“Of course! Everyone knows they are some of the most sought-after in my world. Just ask Rakonath! Many of them ca...

UL1 - Book 10 - Prologue 2

In honor of launch day of Book 9 on Amazon, I'm dropping the second prologue for UL1 Book 10. ( A recap but in a different format)

Enjoy!

*****

An older rabbit, humanoid in appearance, four feet tall with white fur so pure it made fresh snow jealous, sat on a stone bench, gently tapping it with a hand.

“Come! Come, each of you, and sit! Join me, Jazzjak, a friend of the six who have created this world, giving you life and protecting you from everything they can! You ...

Prologue Feedback (Book 10) and some other stuff

Hey all - I'm currently writing and almost at 100k words into book 10 atm.

I occasionally do some re-reading of the stuff as I write, trying to make sure things make sense.

Let me first say this before I ask my question ;)

I'm going to do a few different PoV's. Each god will get a little PoV time as we do this. Mind you most still comes from Max/Bob but I want to start showing some of the personal views/ideas/etc of the other gods.

When you get to those as I rel...

Max watched as Tanila vanished.

Her aura was only slightly less than Rakonath’s. Does that mean he is stronger than her?

Only time will tell but if he grows as you do and vice versa, the two of you will quickly become a force to fear.  Even more so is the thread that connects you with Sog.  He i...

Max never stopped laughing as he cut an arm off and then stored it.

Chromie roared in anger, unable to get any distance from him, and Max’s overwhelming power foiled every attempt to attack or defend.

“It was a good choice, copying me, but you screwed up and you know it,” Max shouted, removing the legs that were regrowing with an...

“I love you,” Max whispered as he nodded at Tanila.

Two seconds remained, and as his mind counted the timer, he didn’t wait.

His overgrown body surged forward, joints and muscles aching, having used Ultimate Form twice, but he knew it was needed.

Chromie mimicked his action, using that same ability and now rose to fifty feet, still twice as tall as he was.

He slammed into the copy of himself, not trying to slice it with his weapons. He tackled his...

They arrived as one, and Max let his sonar move out as far as it would, seeking anything nearby.

All of them wore their armor, each ready for combat, having prepared before coming through.

Nothing moved toward them and the air was void of all scent except their own.

When his eyes worked, Max saw they were stretching for miles in a large flat area.

Simple stone, each block purple and similar to the ones in his dimensional space.

There, about a hundred yards away, ...

I'll be on a plane in the morning... cant wait to see reactions once I land at 11am Eastern Time.

I cannot convey my gratitude for how many of you have followed me since the beginning. Fear not, the story has another path. I cant wait to start releasing it in August for you.

One thing I've always wanted to do as I write is improve with each story. So as I mentioned before ...

UL1 Book 9 - Chapter 538 - Saying Goodbye

Max sighed, squeezing his sister’s shoulder as she leaned against him.

“I need to go. Just a few more things left to finish up.”

“Another ten minutes?”

Her voice waivered, and he kissed her hair and nodded.

“For you, yes.”

His feet dangled off the roof of the Faction house. He looked to the east, where the sun’s rays were starting to change the color of the sky. Darkness was beginning to be cast out, and the light of a new day was rising.

Max shook his head and held up both hands.

“No, absolutely not! I’m simply telling you what Bob wanted me to try and get permission to do.”

“Sounds like someone pulled a Fowl,” their warrior muttered. “Hey babe, do you mind if I go and kill your mother, you know the one you don’t like?

Max and Tanila both shot him a glare and the dwarf quickly went quiet.

"Weekly" update!

Hey all! It's been a crazy week trying to recover and get back to life as usual after LitRPG con. It was a blast and next year should be even better. I would highly recommend.

I actually canceled my DragonCon stuff as life (some bills from medical side) is going full swing and LitRPG con was so good that I just felt it would be better to stay home and take care of that.

On the other side, July 26th the last few chapters of UL1 book 9 drops.

I'm trying to ...

“It was just one more day,” Tanila said, rubbing his shoulders. “We can afford one more day. Besides, we weren’t sure how long we’d be on the 99th floor.”

Max nodded and let out the breath he had been holding.

“I know… It’s just my list–”

“Doesn’t have to be done. If you don’t accomplish everything on it, you’ll be fine. No one but you set that hard time frame.”

“But our child,” Max protested. “You can’t tell me you aren’t worr...

“I know… just give me one more moment.”

“What’s he doing?” Fowl asked.

His sonar told him that Tanila was shaking her head, pointing at all the chests in the vault they were standing in.

“He’s taking inventory one last time.  Dagon promised him he could borrow a few more items, and Max knows he won’t have time to keep going back and forth between the kingdoms collecting reagents. You are in for a treat, is all I c...

“Max!”

Glancing up from the piece of armor he was working on, Max blinked, seeing Tom there, both lips drawn tight and his eyebrows scrunched together.

“Now?”

The trainer nodded once and opened the door.

“I’ll be outside the door.”

Max glanced at the pieces he had carefully set on the stone table, stored the tools in his hands and stretched.

“Do I want to know?” Tanila asked, one eyebrow raised as she closed her book.

Dagon’s frown gave way to a smile as he grabbed Fowl’s hand.

“You, my boy, are everything I pray our people will become.”

Max could see the smile on his friend's face grow larger as the King of the dwarves patted Fowl’s arm.

“You have grown strong, and the fact that you defeated me by yourself tells me you will do fine in the tower.”

“Thank you for honoring my request and everything you have done for us,” Fowl replied.

They had waited until they returned home to use the potions and elixirs each had acquired on the 98th floor.

Fowl sat there holding four potions, one elixir, and the only ring that he had found worthy of him.

Their ranger's eyes were as wide as the moon. Both brown eyes were locked on the elixir and the two potions. She had procured three items that rounded out her areas of weakness.

Their warrior followed behind as the rest of the party split up in pairs. First, they entered shops in the northeast district and took notes on what was available to purchase.

Hours stretched on, and after about ten of them, they returned to the Tiny Ogre to compare notes and see what they had learned.

Max was glad that the owner of the place ignored Fowl’s laughing each time he came close; the three-foot-tall red ogre was always more than happy to trade food and ...

Max struggled to comprehend how little of Bekat had survived the wildfire spell.

If his core hadn’t been taken, would he have survived?

Most likely. I’m not certain how much damage a dragon can sustain from within. It’s different than the outer area.  Complete destruction of one's heart is impossible for most to recover from.  The fact that you can survive having your head chopped off and be back up in less than half a minute was not something I ha...

UL1 Book 9 - Chapter 523 - An Artifact Is Born

Max lifted the spear off the table.

Power exploded within his body as he held it.

It was as tall as him, carved entirely from the tooth of Wekime.  Bands of metal were inlaid along the shaft every few inches. Each one had been absorbed, now slightly visible but unable to be felt.  Runes glowed slightly, but most were inactive, requiring him to channel a slight trickle of mana according to what Zisathass had told him earlier.

He smiled. The smallest trickle of mana ...
