Mandrill Meets Jessica Rabbit is coming along apace. I don't want to spoil too much so I hesitate to give additional teaser pages. Rest assured, this is a very long chapter so everything is bigger. Coloring this full story is time-consuming work! Right now I have a little under 40% of the pages colored. Lots more to go! And then after that there's the dialogue to add... So you can see why you probably won't get the finished chapter until late next month!

Coloring on the new Mandrill chapter is coming along slowly but surely. This is a long story, and the coloring is more complex than you might think, with multiple colors on Mandrill's face and the glittery texture on Jessica's dress -- but it's also very satisfying to see it come to life. As you can see here, there are even some new details and color to discover... below Mandrill's waist.
I expect this comic to be ready for posting some time in late October or early November. Like...

Hey folks,
I'm attaching three new color tests for the Mandrill/Jessica Rabbit story. In these you'll see the color placement for Mandrill as well as Jessica. I thought about putting Mandrill in a white tux but ultimately I think black/dark gray looks better.
What are your thoughts about this treatment? Would a whole chapter, with only these two main characters being colored, work for you? I don't think a full color treatment, or even full shading, is realistic at this time for me...

Linework on the Jessica Rabbit comic is complete. This is gonna be a long one -- 130 pages, counting the cover.
I've discussed the potential of adding color to this comic -- not full color, just spots of red throughout on Jessica's dress, hair and lipstick. What you're looking at is a preliminary test, but it's an idea of what the whole comic might wind up looking like. The cover will be full color, as with Mandrill vs. The Powerpuff Girls.

I don't want to spoil anything, but... I think this story is going to be my masterpiece.
The more I work on this, the more I'm convinced I should add red coloring and some light shading throughout. I anticipate this story will be at least as long as the Powerpuff Girls story, if not longer.
