I think I have finally managed to fully integrate my Discord with Patreon. It's become necessary too - the server is supposed to be for Patrons, but a lot of people left recently, so it doesn't feel fair for them to still have full access.

Inktober, Patreon/Apple and a note on art subjects

First off, happy November, especially to all the new folks! October has been tough on me; I had to cancel the last show this year, spent three weeks sick in bed and/or coughing, and Inktober / Patreontober quickly became a thing that completely grew over my head. I feel bad for just dropping it, but with new blind spots that happened two weeks ago, I need to focus on my mental health and I’m scared of obligations to push in front of me right now.🩵

I've decided to upload nsfw art here too, after all, for the 3 EUR+ patrons, so please mind the flags if that’s not your cup of tea. ;) This one's still relatively tame, but I still made sure to not let my colleagues in the staff room see too much of it. I'm already on the next page and things are slowly getting spicier. ^^ And I did stop drawing in the staffroom and started marking vocab tests instead, haha.

I spent two afternoons posing models in CSP, and actually dared to draw this page in the staff room. Zoomed in so much that my colleagues thought I was just drawing pretty faces. 😂

Waking up together (slightly suggestive)

Mainly suggestive in the sense of two sets of bedroom eyes, but still. =D

The last episode gave us absolutely nothing in the way of a scene of these two waking up together (though Robbie kept looking over at Liam as if wanting to initiate something, but then Liam-as-Caleb initiated breakfast, and that was that), so artists have to rise to the occasion. I will definitely do some more of these but those might go very nsfw very soon, so they’ll be put on Discord. ☺️

Greetings from Leicester and Canterbury! We saw the Squeeze concert last night and had a whale of a time, and headed down to Canterbury this morning, caught the Evensong tonight and are driving back home tomorrow. I snatched a few minutes here and there to finish this piece, too. Might be the sweetest Orym I've drawn in a while. ☺️

When I told my daughter that Dorym was canon now, she immediately said, "And you’re already drawing. Probably a comic." 😄 She knows me too well.

That now-obsolete fanfic I wrote

I mentioned I'd written a little ficlet last week, before Thursday's episode, entitled simply "Manifesting", haha. I'll just post it here for fun. Although what actually happened on the show was so much better and so SPECIAL. I wrote it as a fake transcript, which is a form of fanfic I've never tried, but I just wanted to imagine all the reactions around the table. I was NOT expecting the way the other players completely left them room, so mine's definitely poorer, but also funnier. XD

I maaay be biased, but I think this is the sweetest love scene we've ever seen on Critical Role.It's absolutely remarkable how these two married married men role play with each other. ☺️

Hey guys, I’ve been sick AGAIN for the past week, and Inktober has been very much on the backburner. I'm sorry and I don’t know if I'll continue. I'm so far behind and I don't think that this way of pushing myself is any good right now. On Monday, we PLAN to go on a trip to England to see Squeeze play live in Leicester, but it’s not certain if that can happen. This has been a whole year of cancelled events and missed opportunities and I’m so tired. :(

A little witch content in her hygge little cottage. I'll be combining a few prompts here and there if that’s okay - there were some that were really close to each other, and maybe I can go a little more elaborate that way. This is turning out to be an even bigger challenge than I thought it would be, as I feel I'm DEEPLY in art slump territory, but I'll see how long I can push through regardless. 🧡

I'd never heard the term "kenopsia", but when I looked it up, my first association was an early poem by Tolkien entitled "Kôr - In a city lost and dead" which encapsulates the eerie feeling of a place bereft of life. You probably guessed it - I felt absolutely rotten for the majority of the week (Sunday to Tuesday were the worst), so yesterday, I started tiny five-minute sketches to catch up...
Day seven is, by the way, I rather accurate depiction of Loki and me throughout most of this time. Isis preferred to lie near my feet, so she's not in the pic.

Just a quick sketch for Marieke's prompt "Indian summer" - I apparently managed to bring back a head cold from the Essen Games fair, and this is as much as I can do today. 🤧

Well, I warned you there might be Humblewood critters incoming, and here’s a cute little Strig for Alexandra's prompt "wonder"! I googled for the cutest owl in the world and found the Northern Saw Whet Owl, as I‘m sure those responsible for the Humblewood cover did as well 😆

Spending the day at the Essen Games Fair meant looking at gorgeous painterly artwork, so naturally I made six painterly brushes and then painted this 😂

Here's a mousy adventurer for Arwen's prompt of "explore"! Fittingly, we were at the Essen games fair today, where we bought the Humblewood box set (a D&D setting where you play small animals). I'll probably end up combining some of these prompts with more Humblewood-like critters; it’s been too long since I drew some!

Faroukh guinea-pigged for my new Ink+Marker brushset...

And wants you to know it's available! =D I'm so happy with it. There are a few brushes in there that actually cut my inking and colouring times in half. The markers, in particular, somehow lead me to be bold and just go ahead and DO STUFF. Can't wait to give these beauties lots of outings for Inktober!

I wasn’t even going to colour this, but then I was having too much fun with my new marker brushset… It’s a great quick solution for sketches you don’t want to spend much time on, but really want to colour.

I hope to put up the new brushset tomorrow at the latest!

Headcanon: Dorian's a virgin (and I could swear he said something to that effect a long time ago), and he tells Orym that he has no idea how two guys like them might do certain things, and Orym quietly shuts him up with an "I got you."
