In which I perform a composition on battery powered test equipment, pedals and a four track cassette recorder.
This track stems from many ideas - the first inspiration was my visit to Willem Twee studios and their beautiful setup of sine wave oscillators, with which its possible to create all kinds of amazing tone clusters. It gave me the idea of trying a minimal take on that technique. I did not feel like engaging the test equipment wall, I wanted something small, maybe even po...

In which I demonstrate the beauty of what have been called the "Stradivaris of toy pianos", the instruments by Michelsonne. From the tiny one octave model, to the 25 and 37 keys versions, Michelsonne are special toy pianos in my collection. They have the most playable action, don't detune that much over and have the cleanest, yet emotional sound. They are very likely the finest crafted toy pianos ever made, nothing like them exists anymore as far as I know. Here I show their sound and t...

Thanks to you, instead of searching for gigs to play I took two excursions to visit interesting artists and places on my Netherlands tour - this is the first one. I have so many more planned, and with your support I will hopefully able to archive them all.

Here is something I filmed for the toy piano series last year but felt nice to be released on its own. I read up on John Cage and listening again, so there is no talking in this one.

In which I talk about the sound pack for the Audiodamage Quanta Granular Synthesizer I made from test equipment sounds.
Chris Randall saw my video on the Princeton Applied Research 124A Lock-In Amplifier and was impressed: he asked me if I could da pack on basis of that machine for their synth Quanta, and I was more than happy to do that. Granular synthesis has been an old love of mine, it was even part of my masters exam back in University. Combining the test equipment with...

In which I demo, review and make music with the Liquid Foam by Herbs and Stones from Italy. This little banana patchable synth feels like a parallel universe Roland TB-303 - squelchy, full-sounding and with a unique sequencer. Its left-field but likes to dance, and has constant good suggestions on how to do so. It has its quirks and is certainly not perfect, but its bold and beautiful and I am happy it exists.

My Panda Shall Fly visited me in my studio in Berlin and we turned on the synths and starting playing. We got on great immediately and from there on we send each other tracks and ideas, and each of us did aggressive treatment to them. I used tape, he used digital methods with the various tools he circuit bend. Its similar to the deconstruction of the archival footage in this video he made for our track "The Half and the Whole"
You can get the second edition tapes and a HQ Riso print her...

In reaction to my video on the Brüel & Kjaer multiplexer (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xFHlP3EVf9Y) Jørgen and Hans-Georg both made multiplexers that work in Ableton Live, you can download them with the link above.
HGDTrackSwitcher works with Max4Live - you can sequence your Ableton live track mutes. Set a base key (48 is C2), set which track is the first in row to be switched, set number ...

Hey everybody,
this was such an amazing video to make. Jeremiah had announced that he wanted to give this instrument to me two years ago and it finally happened last week. He brought it to me, having lugged it from Brussels in the train and said "I checked in the hotel, it does not work. Do you still want it?" I was a little sad but said sure, with the intent of fixing it. Two nights later i dreamed I played it. I went over to the storage and turned it on and it worked! Now its broken a...

Hello everyone! New and long video on my "Landfill Totems" project premiering in a few minutes from now. This was possible only because of your support - I could not afford the time else. So thank you from the bottom of my heart for enabling me to go further and further in the madness that is my art!

I kept this one a secret for a bit - originally recorded in winter 2018, this has found its way on tape, vinyl and digital via the the amazing Seil Records. If you enjoyed my quiet albums such as Ambient Piano Works and Cello Pattern, you might enjoy this, too. It's a fragile, fleeting set of music I recorded here, mostly without touching anything, instead guided by Peter Blassers radio-antenna instruments.

This was a tough but necessary video to make. It kind of marks my "growing up" on this strange platform of talking out of other people's screens and all the good (you!) and bad that comes with it. Full audio of this is coming to 3.75ips and above in a bit. It's a strange experience to listen to.
