Holy shit you guys, it's really been a year! I can't believe how far the project has come in this time, and I could not be more thrilled with the community, and the support we have built in that time.

A completely redesigned Thanks Board has been added outside of the Arena! The old position was near the Lord's cliff, outside the Workshop. This has been moved to the Arena for story reasons.

Painting weights on the clothing today, I got the shirts fitting properly. I thought the legs were fine, but then I spin the camera and their cocks are hanging out xD

Added a couple more animations for NPCs to liven up town. Also created a little interactive group which includes 3 NPCs who appear to be conversing with each other.
Despite the fact that they're dressed like they walked out of a George Orwell novel, they make the town feel much more alive :p

With the new adaptable character and skeleton I can easily create random characters and have them milling (or chilling) about town. This is just the first of a series of new idle animations I plan to make, trying to breathe a bit of life into Monsteronna Village!
You can see here how many possible placements exist just for sitting in the area, these would be randomized at runtime, and various other times during the day to create a sense of lively randomness.

The highest LOD (Level of Detail) mesh has been optimized. Since at any one time anywhere between hundreds to thousands will be rendered at one time the optimization of trees is a very important update which has been forgotten for far too long.
Initially I listed the wrong number as 2k, the real number was 4k. Therefore the new mesh is 8x more efficient than the old high detail tree mesh.

TL;DR: The game will run much smoother because the current tree model was never meant to last so long.
I've relearning a lot of stuff about how Unreal Engine 4 handles meshes and draw calls, and determined that trees are one of the least efficient models in the game. This on it's own wouldn't normally be a problem, but they are also the model which appears most often in the game!

Fixed the errors caused by Character Creation, the intro scene was being triggered after it had already been seen due to a variable mixup. There will be at least one more patch coming before the end of the month to fix up a lot of the Player animations.

Hey everyone just wanted to explain a thing or two about the new player model. You might have noticed a lot of the old animations don't play, thats because the skeleton had to be redesigned for the final character making the old animations incompatible.
I was considering adding a key which would let you swap out the old model, but I figured it would be best to just complete the final player animations instead. I'll be doing these over the next few days and releasing patches when a significant ...

Here's a GIF of the character customization screen in progress, since I recorded this I've added Hair Type, Eyebrow Type, Beard Type, as well as Hair colour, and sections for controlling Shirt and Pants types, and their colours. Here's a fun little tidbit for my Patrons who are interested in the development end.
Pulling back the curtain a bit, you can see how 2D images are overlayed on top of 3D actors creating the 2.5D perspective you see in the last post.
The slight angle you see is opposite the camera view angle, creating the flat 2D appearance of sprites, despite them being 3D actors in reality.

I just wanted to make a separate post about the issues with the Final Neko Mesh, which I'm sure everyone noticed.
I don't know if people read the post about the update but I'll repeat the info here, the issues are a result of applying a new mesh onto an old skeleton with animations already existing. I could tweak the weight painting until everything looks right, but I'm just going to make new animations instead. These will be released as they are created.
