DevLog #60: April 2021

Hi guys! I hope you're all well and safe!

Here's what I've been working on this past month.

Light Fairytale Episode 2

I've been focusing on it this month too.

I've received the Japanese translation and I've already integrated it to the game. So the day one release will be available in English, French and Japanese!

My todo-list is getting...

Hi guys, I hope you're well and safe!

So here's this month's devlog, a kind of unpleasant month for me as I was ill during most of it.

Studio's Life

I actually contracted Covid in the beginning of the month, and had random fever - up to 39.5 degrees Celsius - for 2 weeks. I started recovering on the 3rd week but was feeling very tired and weak.

Thankfully I have recovered now but still, this kind of messed up my planning. Though I think I should be tha...

DevLog #57: January 2021

Hey guys, I hope you're all well and safe!

So here's this month's devlog, a bit early as I may not be available in the next few days.

Light Fairytale Episode 2

Still working on it. I've completed the finalization of the 1st third of this episode - The Ice Maze - and even pushed a build to Steam beta and had one guy play this part. He liked it a lot!

I was expecting this 1st third to be completed in around one hour, but the tester actually spent around ...

Hi guys, I hope you have spent a happy Christmas!

On my side, still working on the finalization of episode 2 of Light Fairytale.

It's progressing smoothly, but taking more time than wished.

Unfortunately, I doubt the game will be ready for January, so I'm now targeting a release in Q1 2021 - hopefully mid-February.

I suppose you're all aware of the failure of a certain AAAA game released recently in a terrible state - probably due to the pressure of the shareholders an...

Hey guys, I hope you're all well and safe!

I've worked most of this month on the finalization of Light Fairytale Episode 2. Most of the difficult/costly work have been done but as some devs says, the last 5% is another 50%...

Actually I wouldn't say 50%, more like 15% but still, it does require a lot of time to finalize a game.

Also, I've been playtesting a lot and feel that the game's still not there for a public release, mostly on the battle part.

There are already m...

Hey guys!

This past month, I've been mostly working on episode 2 of my JRPG series Light Fairytale.

As planned, I've completed the last part of the Snow Forest which means that this episode is now playable from start to finish in term of exploration and events!

I will now focus on completing all 5 boss battles in this episode. I've done preliminary work for that but I'm still missi...

DevLog #52: August 2020

Hi everyone!

I've made really good progress this month working on episode 2 of my JRPG series Light Fairytale.

This is the main reason why I've finally decided to release it on early access with full content day one - as this should still happen this year.

The second reason is that I think this is still a very short game - around 3-4 hours for a first playthrough, so releasing an even shorter version would probably hurt the reviews / sales.

Anyway, as planned I've comp...

DevLog #47: March Status Update

I hope you guys are safe and healthy with everything that's happening in the world recently.

I live in France near Paris so I'm confined in my apartment since a few weeks now. Thankfully I'm a solo indie developer so I can work in these conditions just fine, and my projects are actually progressing quite well! Here's what I've been working on.

[Patrons Survey #5] (Very) Early Access for Light Fairytale Episode 2?

Now that I've completed the 1st hour of Episode 2 - which is around one 3rd of the planned content, I wanted to ask my patrons if they think this would be enough for starting an Early Access campaign on Steam.

This would allow you guys to play Episode 2 very soon - within 2 weeks from now - and experience the beginning of the story, exploration and battles.

This will also help shape the final release considering your feedback early in the development, and give me a bit more fundin...

Hello!

As mentioned in my previous DevLog, I moved to a new apartment this month - a bit after the planned date though. So, I was cut from work for around 2 weeks.

The good news is that I'm now writing this from the new apartment, with local internet working and everything I need, ready to focus on the development of Light Fairytale Episode 2, until the release around mid-year!

Now, here's what's been going on since the last DevLog.

Hello!

So here's this month's DevLog - a bit early this time as my landlord want to sell her apartment so I will need to move to an other one in a few days, and will probably be cut from work / internet for sometime.

Anyway, I've received this month the first draft of the main cover for Episode 2.

This one is from the portrait artist romiy and I think it's looking great so far!

You can compare it to the version I did myself in DevLog #43 :D
