Update Post August 3rd, 2025 (Patreon Appreciation Month 2025!!)

Hello Patrons, it's that special time of year once again: Patreon Appreciation Month!!

This month marks the 10 year anniversary of the GaMetal Patreon campaign that would go on to allow me to make a full-time living making GaMetal remixes for you all and the rest of the world. I'm always afraid of sounding a bit repetitive, but I must reiterate time and time again how grateful I am for you all here. GaMetal's success is thanks in large part to contributors like you, so thank you all so much yet again for your love and support, I couldn't have done this without you all!

I went over the to-do list and general updates just a few days ago (which you can read up on here if needed), so today we'll only be focusing on Patreon Appreciation Month.

For those new around here: every August we celebrate the anniversary of the GaMetal Patreon with a few extra Patron influenced events. For starters, rather than choosing 1 song during our monthly Patreon stream and me handpicking the second, I'll instead be opting out of my handpick (to remove any personal bias) and we'll be choosing three songs from the Patreon Request list during the monthly stream. On top of that, we'll be choosing songs for two new medleys, in which all Patrons are eligible to submit songs!

To start, our next console medley will be....

...a Nintendo 3DS Medley! After the success of last year's DS Medley, I felt we could do a sort of "sequel" and move on to the DS's next iteration.

And for our second medley, we're going to do something a bit different... many of you have asked about it over time, so after nearly 9 years, we're going to do another Series Medley!

I spent a few weeks racking my brain of what would be a good series to cover in medley form, and decided on one that I think would be perfect for current times:

We will be putting together a Mario Kart Track Medley! This medley will be comprised of track themes from across the Mario Kart series.

You can make your medley submissions over on this form. More specific submission requirements (IE: 3DS songs must be from 3DS exclusive games, etc) are detailed on the form, be sure to read up on them!

This form can be edited after you make your submission, in case you have any changes of heart between now and the Patreon stream. It will remain open until the morning of the stream.

On that note: this month's Patreon stream will take place a little later than usual (which we normally do in August to give you all some more time to make medley submissions). This month's stream will take place on August 10th, starting around 4:00 PM US Eastern Time.

New GaMetal Video! Destroyed Skyworld (Kid Icarus: Uprising)

Last one for the month, here's my birthday song pick (almost a whole month late!): Destroyed Skyworld from Kid Icarus: Uprising.

I've gushed a ton about KIU in the past, just to recap: one of my favorite games of all time. This is one of the best songs from the soundtrack (might be my favorite now after this cover).

Patreon Stream #97 Recap + Handpicked PRL Choice!

Hey Patrons! Here's a recap for today's stream for those who missed it.

The song chosen from today's stream to go on the to-do list was:

It's TV Time! from Deltarune Chapter 3+4, requested by X-hog! I must admit, Deltarune Ch. 3+4 got on the to-do list a lot faster than I was anticipating. 😅

I've only heard a handful of Ch. 3+4 songs so far, but this has been my favorite that I've heard from that bunch, should be a fun one!

On to my handpicked choice for the month, I decided to go with:

Underground Moon Caverns from Super Mario Odyssey, from the list of SteelJoe1120! It dawned on me that I never did a song from Odyssey, so why not?

And finally, my birthday song choice, coming incredibly late this year (my birthday was on July 1st) so I could get those June songs done. I'm going with another personal favorite:

Destroyed Skyworld from Kid Icarus: Uprising! We must continue to attempt to bring Kid Icarus Uprising to the Switch 2 via the GaMetal Effect™️!!

After finishing up the June songs (Esperanto early DL should be ready either tonight or early tomorrow), we're moving on to my birthday pick which I'll be revealing in today's stream recap. The exact order of everything listed as TBA will be determined as the month continues, I'll keep you up to date in future update posts as usual. I do plan to start working on Wii Medley this month, but it likely won't be ready to August.

Speaking of August, next month is Patreon Appreciation Month! For those new to the Patreon, August is the anniversary of the GaMetal Patreon's inception, so we celebrate by doing some extra things. The quick and easy version: we'll be taking 3 songs from the Patreon Request List to put on the to-do list during next month's stream (instead of 1 during stream plus handpick, so no handpick bias next month 😜), and choosing songs for 2 to-be-determined medleys where submissions can be made by all Patrons. More info to come in August.

I'm going to open the 2025 GaMetal Song Ballot soon! I'll be releasing it after I finish my birthday song, so likely around the middle of July. I'll be doing things slightly different with the ballot this year, more info once it's ready.

Today's stream is taking place at our usual time of 4:00 PM US Eastern, the link will be posted here around that time. The Patreon Request List was updated this morning (thank you Kishoro!), as usual we'll be keeping our eye out for any last minute changes.

On a final note: this month has the potential to be high in song count again, so be sure to set your pledge limits on the membership settings page if needed!

New GaMetal Video! Sunstar (Mega Man V)

The next video is up: Mega Man V's Sunstar is here! I'm pretty proud of this one, it came out exactly as I had envisioned.

A couple of quick updates! I decided to delay Esperanto for a couple of days, so the first week or so of July will be dedicated to finishing up the June Jamboree set. So it's a bit more like... Junely Jadness. 😅

Instead, we'll have our next Patreon Request List listening stream tomorrow! We'll begin about an hour before our usual stream time, starting around 3:00 PM US Eastern.

Another short and sweet one here similar to Kirby Super Star Boss Battle, plus I wanted to give everyone a quick update, so this one's for all Patrons!

I was hoping to get the video for this one out today, but our house AC unit stopped working yesterday (in the middle of a heat wave at that), so I wasn't able to record any video yesterday (else I might've died lol), thankfully it just got fixed this morning, but because of that I won't have the video ready till tomorrow.

So you might've noticed we still got a few songs to get to, but not many days left in the month! As is May Madness tradition, a song or two will be spilling into the next month. This month well end with a Mega Man double-header with Sunstar and Esperanto on Sunday and Monday, while Risky Boots and Gangplank Galleon will be pushed into the first week of July.

My birthday pick will come immediately after those songs, I will be revealing it on July 5th in the monthly stream recap / handpicked Patreon Request List song reveal post.
