Yo patronz! It's Friday, it's new video day, and I've put together a little soul-style pice which is designed to give you some ways to improve your rhythm playing. It's a half-hour long video, and there's a lot of stuff in there to work on. Hope you enjoy it. Link and music/tab below.

Morning patrons. Today I'm continuing my series of Wire lessons. I have unprecedented 2 new videos for you in which I look at the tracks Three Girl Rhumba and Mercy. Both are great, fairly easy to play songs. Links below. I'll be posting the tabs, and my Three Girl Rhumba backing track up here shortly.
Today is my filming day for new videos and I'm thinking about doing something rhythm guitar based. If all goes well, you'll be seeing that next week.
Cheers,
Adrian

Morning all. Hope everyone's having a good weekend. And welcome to those of you who have just signed up this week.
I know that some of you (and myself actually) have been a little confused navigating around Patreon and finding the correct pages, lesson links etc. I thought I'd share this info which fellow patron Chris Kueny has put together which clarifies things a bit:
"OK, I figured this out. In case it's useful to anyone: In a web browser, there are three different views ...

Morning patrons. To balance out the slightly obscure post-punk (more Wire coming soon...) I thought I'd look at a well-known guitar classic this week. I realise there are a lot of lessons and transcriptions of this particular song around already, but I've not seen any that really make sense to me. So I thought I'd have a go myself. Link to the video below. Also the tab in PDF and Guitar Pro form. Enjoy learning it! Speak next week,
Adrian

Morning patrons! I have a new video for you this morning. I'm looking at the song Ex Lion Tamer by the mighty British band Wire. It's a fun, easy to play bit of post -punk. The music/tab can be found below. I've actually filmed a few other short Wire videos which I'll be putting out over the next few weeks. I realise Wire isn'y going to be everybody's cup of tea, so I'll be mixing those lessons in with plenty of other things. Today I'm planning on filming a bit of classic rock n roll/rockabil...

Morning patrons! Another nice lick for you today. This time it's a bluesy, country-ish, rockabilly-ish phrase. A good bit of vocabulary for outlining the V chord in a 12 bar blues progression. The link is below. I've also written out the entire 12 chorus that I play at the start of the video - tab and Guitar Pro file below. Have fun with it.
I'm busy filming a new song video or two today, which should be ready for next Friday. Have a great week,
Adrian

Good morning patrons! Hope you're not too bored of all the Happy New Year stuff just yet as I have a guitar practice motivational video for you today. All about what and how to practice to make sure you "crush it" (as I believe the kids say these days) in 2019. Hope you find it useful. Here's the link:

Happy New Year patrons! Hope you all had a good break. I'm kicking off 2019 with a nice bit blues fingerstyle - the great Stack O'Lee as played by Mississippi John Hurt. Link to vid, and tab below.
Today's my first day back in the studio after Xmas. After I've caught up on ton of emails and admin I'm going to get down to planning some new lessons and videos. I hope there's going to be plenty to interest you here over the coming year. As usual, if you have any thoughts or suggestions abo...

Morning patrons! And a few new people on board here this week, welcome to you. For the last video of 2018 I have another nice lick for you. This is a useful pentatonic phrase which takes you down the neck through all of the positions of the scale. It should work for most styles of music, and you don't necessarily need to shred your way through it - it works well at any tempo. Music/tab/Guitar Pro file/link to video can be found below. Check out the scales section on my site if you don't know ...

Morning Patrons! It's Christmas special time, and this year I've gone for more Ventures. I love their version of Blue Christmas. It's chock full of great licks, but it's not too difficult to play. Hope you have fun learning it! Link to the video, tab and Guitar Pro file below. Backing track to follow in the next post.

Morning patrons. New video today, we're going to learn one of my current favourite licks - a slippery, string-skippy E minor phrase. Link to the video and the music/tab below. Hope you enjoy learning it.
I'm off to film my Christmas special video which should be out next week...

Here's the music/tab to accompany the XTC lesson. I only made a partial backing track to play over at the start of the video, but if I have time I'll try and expand that to the whole song and post the mp3 here at some point. Have fun learning this. Speak next week!

Morning patrons! A couple of you have asked about technique exercises and in the latest video I look at one of my favourites. Taken as a whole, it's a very challenging exercise, but you can always just work on parts of it, gradually building up to the full monster workout.

Hey patrons! It's Friday; it's new video day. I have a bit of 80s post-punk for you: Swamp Thing by The Chameleons. Never heard of them? I wasn't that familiar with them either until quite recently. But this song contains some lovely playing and I urge you to check it out.

Hello patrons! This week's video has just gone live on YouTube: part 2 of my look at ways you can use a metronome to improve your timing and feel. If you found last week's exercises laughably easy then you might find some of these advanced ideas a bit more challenging. They certainly challenged me whilst making the video.
Have a great weekend. I'll be back next week with a post-punk song lesson which I've been filming today. Speak soon, Adrian.

Hey patrons! Got a new video out today and it's all about metronomes: what they do and how to start using one. Slightly more fun than it sounds, I hope. I've been filming Part 2 today, where I look at a series of fiendish exercises designed to really test the rhythmic mettle of you more advanced players. Next week I'm going to be planning and preparing more song lessons so if you have any thoughts or requests let me know here. Thanks as ever for the support. Have a great weekend and speak next w...

Hey patrons! So here we have the music/tab for some of the riffs I played in Friday's video. I've not written out the full songs as that would probably take me all week, but I hope you have fun with these snippets. I may well do full song lessons on some of these in the future though. Have fun and speak soon,
Adrian

Evening all! I've finally got the new video uploaded to YouTube - this one took longer than usual to get edited together. It's the next in the series of videos looking at my guitars and gear. This time I'm looking at my Jazzmaster. I'm also playing a few favourite Jazzmaster riffs. If I have time over the next couple of days I will try and tab a few of them out for you.
Hope you enjoy the vid. Link here:

Hey patrons! Here's some extra stuff to accompany today's video. There's a PDF/Guitar Pro file of the actual licks. I've also transcribed the little solo I played at the start of the video in case you're interested in learning that. And I've put together a couple of quick bass and drums backing tracks that you can use to practice the licks along to. There's a full speed one at 145 bpm and a slower version at 100 bpm. If 16th notes at 145bpm is too quick for you then start with the slower backing...

I'll have tab and a couple of backing tracks up here for you later.

The easier songs are in chord/lyric chart format, and the rest are in music/tab. All great songs, I think. And certainly not just for beginners - I really enjoy playing all of these myself. Have fun!
