Behind the scenes & Mod error stuff

Hi everyone!

This is mainly a post about recent mod issues mostly relating to the last game update but I thought I'd also sneak in a behind the scenes picture for something a bit more fun.

Onto the mod issues:

Firstly sorry for anyone who is waiting on me getting back to you, I've had a lot of messages/comments regarding mod issues and it's taking me some time to make my way through them all.

✅ I have checked through my mods and they are working after the patch so if you are experiencing any errors please first:

• make sure all mods and script mods (mine and other creators) are either updated or removed if no longer compatible with the latest game update before reaching out to me about any errors you experience in game. A lot of issues can be caused by an unrelated outdated mod and can cause all sorts of strange errors.

• If you do get an error report please check the mod download page for any recent updates you may have missed and check through any pack requirements or other mod requirements.

If after doing these things, you are still getting errors please send the report over on my discord channel here and I can take a look.

Seeing as it has been a popular request I will be adding another toppings option to the breads! Avocado! 🥑

I will make a Grannies recipe for avocados on toast at some point but I thought this would make a nice addition to the homemade breads.

🕵️ Medieval Recipe Error Investigating

Medieval Cookbook has been updated!

Updated 30-08-2025: Please delete and redownload the cookbook

• Fixed issue for players experiencing Stews and Puddings from not finishing cooking and the action being cancelled out (no need to redownload the recipes at this time as the problem was with the cookbook)

Thank you everyone for your helpful feedback! If after updating you are still experiencing any issues please continue to use this post and I can look into it!

( Please note that since the last game update did a bit of damage to a lot of mods, especially script mods, I would appreciate if you could remove/make sure any other mods are fully updated to the latest patch in case those are impacting any results - Thank you! 😊 )

I have been receiving quite a few messages about the Medieval Stews and Pies recipes (from the medieval food starter pack) not working correctly.

I'm having trouble replicating the issues in my game to find what could be causing them to not work, so I'm asking for some info in your games to see if I can find any patterns to help narrow down issues.

• whether they are working or not

• what parts for the mod you have downloaded

• sims packs you do not own

• what stoves your sim uses

• on or off the grid

• any other information you think might be useful

• if you have received any error reports whilst trying to cook them please could you upload them in my discord channel

I've been keeping an eye on the requests channels and decided to make Pasta e Fagioli and Tostones!

🚨 Please be cautious disabling packs that may be required for certain mods! Players have been experiencing issues with this new feature so I would advice to remove any pack dependent mods before disabling packs or avoid using this new feature whilst having mods in game! 🚨

⬆️ Homemade Ingredients small update for renaming & tags

Renamed single portions to 'Portion of Ingredient Name' to make it easier to understand which size a recipe is asking for:

• Butter

• Cream Cheese

• Butterscotch Frosting

• Chocolate Frosting

• Green Frosting

• Pink Frosting

• Purple Frosting

• Red Frosting

• Vanilla Frosting

• Glaze Icing

• Royal Icing

• Whipped Cream

Please note that recipes calling for xnumber of 'IngredientName' will take that number of portions directly from the large serving of the ingredient. It is not asking for that number of whole large servings unless the number is more that 8. Recipes that ask for xnumber of 'Portion of IngredientName' will require that amount of single portions in inventory/fridge and will not auto take from the large serving.

Homemade Flour - Added [Flour] & [Flour or Sugar] Ingredient Tags to the large serving (please note the large serving will only count towards Flour Tags and not the EA individual Flour - that still requires you to pick up a serving first)

Hunting & Foraging Update Notes

This is mostly an update before the update as I wanted to continue working on some new things but they are taking longer than expected 😔 I didn't want to keep you all waiting any longer, especially for errors and such. I tried to remember to make a more informative patch notes but there will be some things I've missed 😅

Update Notes 07-08-2025

• Fixed the errors popping up in scumbumbos tuning error notifier

• Updated the plants to fix/add the new tunings from July's update

• Fixed the Boar Meat and Poultry meat error from July's update

• Sims with the 'Storm Chaser' reward trait can now continue to travel using the sign post when there is a blizzard (other sims will still be unable to)

• Sims with the 'Cold Acclimation' and/or 'Ice Proof' reward traits can now bathe in the stream and fish when the weather is frozen (other sims will still be unable to)

• Fixed the string for debug milk showing in the village shoppe

• Added the 'milk or eggs' ingredients tag to the cc bird egg/chicken egg so they can now be used correctly in recipes asking for 'milk or eggs' ingredients

• Wood can now be purchased at the Village Shoppe

• Wood now has srslys wood tag for better cross compatibility

• Updated incorrect Leeches buff string

• Updated incorrect level 2 foragers skill string

• Adjusted foraged plants prices + weeded dandelions & nettles no longer worth 0

• New forageable 'Thistle'

• Fixed Occult Herbalist Plasma category name

• Fixed the Activities buffs icons that were missed

• Added compatibility for Claire's Medicine Box - sickness and injuries mod add on (not finished yet but I will show some behind the scenes soonish!)

• Added the new apothecary ingredients to be foraged and 'small animal bones' when cutting small animal meat

• Visiting the Village Physician will now help to reduce the new Ailments

• Pumpkin Picking activity should now be displaying correctly - available during trick or treating + spooky spirit holiday traditions / Harvestfest / and Fall on Fridays + Saturdays.

• and behind the scenes shimmying around (mostly for my benefit)

If you are noticing any bloopers in your game please let me know - there is a few things mentioned already that I have taken note of and should be fixed in the next one! (the Herbalism empty jars is one of those as it will be tying in with my medicine box mod)

Cut and Wrap Fish ~ mini mod

All those hours spent fishing, now that great catch is more meaningful!

🎣 Caught fish can now be cut and wrapped to produce 'Wrapped Fish' which will count towards the 'Any Fish' ingredient tag for EA and custom recipes!

Small fish cuts into 2 wrapped fish
Medium fish cuts into 4 wrapped fish
Large fish cuts into 6 wrapped fish

🐟 This mod is base game compatible & standalone but is an override and will conflict with other mods changing object tunings for object_fish(fishname) etc.

How to use:

• Download and place in mods folder

• Have your sim catch or buy a fish and look for the new 'cut and wrap fish' interaction. Wrapped fish will be placed in your sims inventory to use when cooking.

Medieval Bugs & Bloopers

Helloo!

I have opened a community chat for the Medieval Cookbook/Hunting & Foraging mods to try and catch any bloopers & bugs that need attending to before I next update the mods! So if you have stumbled across anything that doesn't seem quite right please leave a few details about the problem in the community chat so I can take a look and try fix those!

• I have had a few people mentioning issues with the tea/drinks menu not showing and I think I have finally found what was causing that (a teeny little thing I kept overlooking 🤦‍♀️😅)

• There's a few buff icons that I had missed too!

• There is some tuning errors popping up which should also be fixed for the next update as well.

I don't have a date set for the next update but I have been working on a couple of new additions which I hope you will like. More information about this to come later 😊

I have also added a little message for any requests, so if you have any ideas please reply under that message and I may be able to work a little magic and have it added for the next update! 💚
