Robyn drove her Nan’s car back to Scarborough a few days ago as we’ve ended up with our own car! It’s good to have our own set of wheels again. The car is much larger and makes carting all the dogs around easier. I’d holed myself up for a couple of days working on some music projects while Robyn was away sorting the car out, so was ready to spend some time outdoors with the camera.
Yesterday we went for our first ride out in it, and headed to Maidens ~1hr South of Glasgow down ...
An old song that I released under Magnificent Bastard many years ago. I relearned it this morning so I could test-run audio/video recording at home. It was pretty straight forward so will aim to do more things like this, plus it will be a good excuse to relearn a bunch of songs.
I've wanted to do a 'solo' record for the longest time in a band format and tried a few times with a handful of EP's but it never felt quite right. This will be one of the first tracks I try in the studio as Ke...
Yesterday we took a trip to Balloch Castle. We were originally going to go the Shores literally a minute down the road but I’d been there before and figured we’d go somewhere completely new for the both of us.
The Castle wasn’t open to the public, and looking at it it’s kind of hard to imagine if it ever was? Would love to get inside, though. I loved it’s corner window, never seen that before.
So we walked the grounds before heading down to Loch Lomond via a huge open fi...

It’s been a while since I visited an abandoned place, so long in fact this is the first time I’ve been able to bring Marshall along with me!
We headed to Cardross to hopefully get inside St. Peter’s Seminary. The last time I was here was a few years back and the fences were all freshly sealed and there was security patrolling - not this time. The front gate was wide open and there were a couple of other families exploring, too.
The seminary is one of 42 post-war buildings in...

Scanning these slides is a slow process, but I’ve got a method down now and am rattling through them at an increased pace when I get to sit down and dedicate time to getting a batch done. This particular box has 4 columns, I’ve just completed the 3rd and these photos are from the 2nd.
There’s so many that I like, and I’m increasingly determined to put a photobook out featuring some… one day.
A year ago I started scanning my Great Uncle’s slide film, I made 2 posts and it kind of went on the backburner. However, I’ve finally moved and have settled down somewhat and I’ve just been reminded of how much slide film there is to work my way through - I can’t even put a number on the amount of boxes I’ve got to sift through but I’m archiving the slides as I go along now so I can easily dig out ones I like in the future if I decide to make a print or whatever. Speaking of whic...
2021-05-13 12:21:32 +0000 UTC View PostIn December I was commissioned to create a music video for Glaswegian band Kamora.

We talked over some ideas, and for budget reasons we decided to keep the video straight forward - no actors, no locations. There was to be a performance aspect, but with the last video they did being the band performing the song in a ...

Earlier in the month I spent a week touring with Closet Organ. Rather than taking standalone photos to document our time away, I opted to instead shoot thousands of photos with the intention to display them as a sorta-stop-motion video.
Here I am, hard at work:

When I got home, my memory card had clocked around 10,000 photographs. By the time I'd made sense of them and whittled t...
