Originally this scene was going to happen BEFORE the previous scene, but I figured we'd had enough of Tamberlane's party antics for a little bit. Still, I am super pumped to do this scene!
Composing those last two panels was interesting... I wanted to get as many cameos as I could in there without obscuring too much. I think the last panel was most successful compositionally as I used light to set the corgies apart.

Hey all! I figured it was a good time for an update!
The last two weeks put me out of commission between a fibro flare and then throwing out my back, but I'm back on the horse this week!
- I got all 181 sketches done for the Kickstarter over the course of a week and a half; they've been sent off to Make That Thing and Kickstarter fulfillment is now entirely in their hands.
- While I was doing KS sketches, the Tamberlane buffer got depleted but I'm working on buffing it u...

I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to get this done today. My hands are still hurting from zipping through all those sketches, haha! But I managed it, yay! And a nice change in color pace for a page. It's nice to stretch out into other spectrums. It can be boring to use the same lighting source, the same lighting colors, etc etc, for Thirty Freakin Pages. But who do I have to blame?? JUST MYSELF.
Anyway!
I don't have a lot of composition notes for this one. Mostly just that I really...

Is that a flashback I see???
So, uh, between you and me, $10+ folks, I was never going to flashback to this or even really confront it at all. But then I wanted to have Walter lighten up a little up in that top panel and had to create a page for it to go on. So uh. Yep here we go. Good thing it ties into the story!
This is one of those whoopsies that is going to mildly alter the entire comic, because now I've thrown in a Chekov's Gun that's gonna have to go off at some point. That's just...

Nothing much to say composition-wise. Two notes I guess:
I really should have made the fourth panel a bit different, because as it stands there's a lot of worthless space at the top there. Bad comp.
But I am happy that Walter's speech balloon tail cuts between them and separates them.

So, today's page took ... a while, because I decided that the establishing shot needed to not only be behind the booths but also with a gorillion extra characters smooshed in there. So this page took something like 12 hours. Whew!
The only real stuff I have to say about this page, I think, is that for the first page, I used highlighting and detailing to make Walter and Br...

At last! The time-lapse videos resurface! I've been paying Ashley Nichols to do them for me because she can whip them out in like 30 minutes, as opposed to my 3-4 hours. Bless that girl.

I think this is as good a time as any to talk about my writing process.
I mentioned a month or so ago that I had FINALLY scripted the entire rest of the chapter! It takes a while to do something like that.
I'm already off-script. Lol!
Well, that's not quite true.
Each chapter is made up of a series of beats I want to hit to be able to tell the story I want to tell. So far, Chapter 3's beats have been:
- Oakewood conducting research (This chapter is about research, s...

Composition Notes
I had a bitch of a time with this page. I think I changed the script for it five times while I was working on it. The folks watching the stream got to see me shuffle around the three panels at the top of the page in multiple configurations.
I've been experimenting with depth of field lately, trying to blur out the background when it's not a main focus so that it do...

Now that the new site is live, I can start using this format for updates. Much more art, much less white space! Also, because it was resized in Photoshop instead of CSP, the lines retain their crispness. (CSP is bad at resizing images. I don't know why.)
