Saltmarsh Night Still
I've been meaning to do some more underground locations for a while, and I haven't yet played or ran and Underdark adventure, but I think the setting is super cool. The Underdark, like the material plane, has so many varied environments, but I wanted to do an image that looked reasonably ethereal, but could stand in for a normal cave system, maybe even a mine in this case.
I would like to do more underground location in the future, so what kinds of locations might you find venturi...

A patron recently gave me the suggestion of a portal location. This could be just about anything or anywhere, but I always like to imagine if a party has to find a portal to another plane, then it must be hidden in the wilderness. This could be part of a larger location where the portal is on the outskirts, or just a stand alone structure deep within a forest. Either way, hopefully your party wants to travel to a far away place at some point and you can lead them this way.

I just wanted to give a shoutout to my friends over at Alchemy who are about to launch their Kickstarter campaign for the official v1 of their platform. In the crowd of VTT's they really stand out in my mind because of their focus on artists like myself and more narrative forward roleplay opportunities. The beta version of the platform was already pretty good, but th...

I have had this location setting on my list for a while and I'm really happy that I could get around to it. I really enjoy doing more generic locations like the 'travel' scene collection and locations like this. I have been using a more abstract way of playing through a dungeon delve recently (adapted from Ironsworn rules), and I find that having an image like this up while the characters explore a whole complex is a great way of immersing everyone.
I hope this location gets a bunch of ...

I've had a few people suggest Tresendar Manor in Phandalin recently, as seeing as I wanted to finish up some of the smaller locations from Lost Mines of Phandelver, I thought it was a good idea. The house is described as more of a castle than a house, so I wanted to depict it maybe a bit more defensible that the map shows, but I think it is still quite loyal to the original. And though the Phandalin town painting is quite light and bright, I wanted to add some darkness into the manor house, o...

I think one of the last major campsite locations that I want to do, and I hope will give people a lot of options for campsite images, the swamp. I really don't think this would be a terribly comfortable place to camp, considering all the buzzing and biting insects that inhabit places like this. But, it seems like the party has found the most comfortable spot amongst the muck. I was inspired by Frodo and Sam's first camping spot under the big tree after leaving the Shire. A little bit differen...

I had this idea after rewatching an episode of Sherlock recently, and thought that I would love to run a more mystery focused urban game. Which I think something like Waterdeep: Dragon Heist has a lot of already. And after doing some church themed locations in the past, I would say that it would be a cool encounter where the party has to go to a church and inspect the body of someone important who has been killed. In a big city there may even be a church that soul focus is treating the dead.&...

As we continue to camp out in the wilderness, we next travel over the mountain ranges. I'm really enjoying painting these landscape scenes, and I think the focus of the campsite really gives it a meditative feeling when I'm painting. I hope these camp locations are eternally useful for almost all parties and as I have been saying, I hope they encourage roleplaying amongst the players when they are shown the image.

I've been working on my website catalogue since last year (with a lot of help!) and I'm happy to say it is up and running! I think this will make your user experience of finding and downloading each piece much simpler and easier. I also hope that it shows you some of my past pieces that you may have never seen or forgotten about, and I hope they inspire you to come up with some new scenes for your game.

A lot of my current game is about exploring the wilderness and the ruins that dot the landscape. The party had an encounter this past week that was in the ruins of a small village, so I wanted to paint something along those lines as I think locations like this always come up. I wanted to portray a locations that was part old village, part temple, and part keep; to therefore it could be used in a variety of different situations, and I hope I found the right balance with this one.
So let ...
