Melodrama Analysis- "Hard Feelings/ Loveless"

After going back to discuss “Liability” in context, I blind-react to “Hard Feelings/Loveless”. I discuss Lorde’s incredible attention to detail regarding her music, diction, imagery and use of literary devices. I touch on her use of motif and juxtaposition as well.

Note- I realize that, during the reaction, I initially mistook when the “Loveless” portion of the song begins. However, I do still feel like this song is in three distinct parts and not just two. Part one is sup...

"Hard Feelings/Loveless" Analysis moved to Saturday 5/28

Hey guys! We've had really bad thunderstorms in my area all day. We actually lost power earlier, but it's back on now. I'd literally just sat down to do the "Hard Feelings/ Loveless" analysis when I got an emergency notification that a tornado has been spotted in our area. So now we're all taking shelter downstairs as instructed 😭😭😭

I hate to move the analysis, but it doesn't seem like it's going to happen today! Let's shoot for Saturday instead, y'all!

"Hard Feelings" Analysis on Saturday 5/28/22

Hi, everyone! I took a look at the poll I posted last week, and it looks like we are moving on to "Hard Feelings". I will definitely go back and listen to "Liability" again first, and I'll probably do like a quick summary of my thoughts regarding that song before jumping into the "Hard Feelings" analysis!

To "Liability" or not to "Liability"-- that is the question...

Hi, everyone! First of all, I just want to say thank you so much for all of your love and support here on Patreon! It truly means the world that you all choose to support me this way! This is a super busy week for me! I have some YouTube content planned, but I also have some acting stuff to do! Additionally, I need to prepare for my birthday festivities this weekend (I'll be 31 on Saturday, y'all)! That being said, I will not be posting a video here on Patreon this week!

I will, however...

Melodrama Analysis: Part IV- "The Louvre" (Blind Reaction/Analysis)

I listen to the song for the first time and look for English-y things! This was a fun one, y'all!

Also, I Googled the lyrics after this reaction and "supernatural" is one word, so disregard what I said in the video 😂😂😂

"The Louvre" Analysis/Reaction

I appreciate your patience regarding this video! I recorded the blind reaction today, and I had SO MUCH FUN searching for English-y things. Vimeo isn't cooperating at the moment (I've refreshed it multiple times, and it still isn't working). Usually, though, these issues with Vimeo resolve within a few hours! I'll keep trying and post ASAP!

Love you guys!

"The Louvre" Analysis Now Tomorrow May 12

Let me tell you about my day-- I'm laughing as I'm writing to keep from crying 😭😭😭 I woke up to a putrid smell from downstairs and water all over the floor... I mean everywhere. I quickly saw that the water was coming from underneath the refrigerator....and that the fridge had completely stopped working all together at some point during the night. Like...the lights were off and it wasn't running.

Now this fridge was here when we bought the house eight years ago. It's always wor...

Melodrama Analysis: Part III- "Homemade Dynamite"

I discuss Lorde's use of diction, imagery, symbolism, characterization and more in this ABSOLUTE BOP!

Note- I do think this song, in particular, lends itself to various interpretations due to the uses of irony and contrast throughout. This video merely represents my interpretation.

Patreon Early Access- I Wrote a Thing...

Hello! As you already know, I will be doing a "Homemade Dynamite" reaction later today, but I wanted to share another exclusive first. I wrote a poem/short story that I will eventually share on YouTube and Instagram (I think). I wanted to give you guys early access.

For context, this piece of writing is based off of an event that actually happened. When I was in the 12th grade, I had my first and only sleepwalking experience which ended with me walking directly into my closet door...

"Homemade Dynamite" Analysis- May 4, 2022

Stay tuned for our next Melodrama analysis on May 4! We will be diving into Lorde's,
"Homemade Dynamite"! Y'all know I'm already super intrigued by the title!

Melodrama Analysis: Part II- "Sober"

I look at Lorde's use of details, specifically her diction, and how those details develop a main idea. I also discuss Lorde's use of motif and symbolism.

I misspoke regarding the "dance" bit in "Green Light". She doesn't say, "dance with me" in that song. She says, "How we kissed when we danced on the light up floor?"  Still, the dance imagery is super important!

Also, I apologize for the unhinged nature of this video. #glitchycamera #phonecalls #v...

"Sober" Analysis Delay

Hey, guys! Sorry for the delay with the "Sober" Analysis. I couldn't even log in to Patreon for most of the day yesterday. Now, Vimeo is acting up, again. I am not sure what's going on. Someone on Instagram said it might be a server error, but y'all know I am not good with technology....so I have no idea.

I'll keep trying. If I can't get it posted by tomorrow, I might just go ahead and try to upload it to YouTube (though I recorded it with Patreon in mind, so I know I p...

The Little Prince Book Study- Ch. XXII- End

Y'all. I recorded this last part of the book study on Monday, but I haven't uploaded it yet because I am such a hot mess in the video. If you follow me on Instagram, you know that Monday was rough for me. I could NOT stop crying throughout this video. Granted, the last part of the book always makes me emotional, but I was EXTRA in my feelings on Monday 😭😭😭

I am reading from the Richard Howard translation. If you wish to follow along, try opening this link: 2022-04-13 20:17:37 +0000 UTC View Post

Melodrama Analysis: Part I- "Green Light"

I discuss Lorde's use of diction, imagery, alliteration and symbolism in the first Melodrama track, "Green Light".

Also, thank you Grace for pointing out the "Great White" wordplay! We love a good pun!

Lover Analysis: Part XIV- "The Man"

I discuss the double standards Taylor sings about in this bop! I also use Taylor's diction to analyze contrasting instances of connotation within our language. Moreover, I identify some lovely alliteration and a pretty fun allusion!

Also, forgive me for going off on a tangent about the hypothetical "were" when that isn't even relevant here. I would have sworn she was saying "If I were a man" 🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️ I think my brain just auto-corrected it! #en...

Lover Analysis Part XIII- "I Forgot that You Existed"

I discuss Taylor's use of diction, repetition, symbolism, and allusion in this Lover bop! I also partake in some light (just for fun) speculation regarding the vague pronoun "you".

Lover Analysis Part XI- "It's Nice to Have a Friend"

DISCLAIMER- Y'all. The technology gods have not been on my side these past couple of weeks! Today, my camera totally died while I was filming. It happened about halfway through. You can still read and hear the song lyrics, though. You can also still hear me discussing the song lyrics. Since the lyric analysis is the most important part, I figure it will be ok! I sincerely apologize, though! This is a new camera, and I did not realize that it wouldn't allow me to charge it while using it as th...

Partial Blind Reaction to "I Bet You Think about Me"

I've had a few requests to upload the partial blind reaction to Taylor Swift's, "I Bet You Think about Me" here on Patreon. This is the PARTIAL blind reaction from the video I recorded on Friday. As many of you know by now, I accidently turned my mic off about halfway through...so the rest of the video has no sound. I will re-record an analysis video for "I Bet You Think about Me"  for YouTube sometime this week. In the meantime, you all can at least hear my initial thoughts for the firs...

Lover Analysis Part X- "I Think He Knows"

I discuss how "I Think He Knows" is a perfect puzzle piece to the rest of the Lover album. Taylor uses amazing diction, imagery, symbolism and even allusion in this fun song!

Also-- I was correct in regards to the writer of, "16th Avenue"--it was written by Lacy J. Dalton. The song is about all of the aspiring country musicians that go to Nashville with hopes and dreams. Whether it was an intentional allusion or not, I think it works really well because 16th Avenue represents opportunit...

Lover Analysis Part IX- "False God"

I discuss the religious diction/imagery and subsequent juxtaposition in Taylor Swift's song, "False God". I also discuss the use of metaphor, alliteration, symbolism and assonance.

Also-- as I listened to the song a few more times, I really started to consider what "God" means to different people. It's interesting because, in the video, I mention that a God is something/someone you worship, but I think it's more than that. The idea of "God" is comforting to people. "God" symbolize...
