The Austrian Wine Poisoning | Down the Rabbit Hole
Video is uploaded and unlisted, I'm leaving it in the algorithm overnight to make sure there are no issues. If all is well, the new Down the Rabbit Hole goes live tomorrow.

Hello everyone! In case you missed it, I'm doing a short, week-long stream series where I make tea and bring on guests to chat for a little while as I answer questions about Down the Rabbit Hole. Feel free to join, it's occurring every day at 1pm PST until Thursday.

An EP for which I played the hurdy gurdy is now available, named "Answerer." This project is the brainchild of the composer for Down the Rabbit Hole, Ryan Probert, who took my improvisation and turned it into five experimental electronic pieces. The one exception is Track 3, in which he gave me sheet music to use. Still, on every track, the goal was to create an "organic" feeling, which was an interesting challenge given the mechanical nature of the instrument.

Next step is to cut together audio and send to Ryan so he can fit music to it
It looks like manual reviews for monetization are still okay on YouTube, so hopefully no major delays due to that once the video is complete

Most of the script is done, I'm just adding and removing and changing things as they find more info
Considering changing progress updates
Three options:
1. Progress updates stay weekly
2. Progress updates happen when major events occur, i.e. an awesome source is found or a phase of production is finished, such as scriptwriting
3. Option 2, but with no more than a week between updates even...

Script is coming along quickly
Video's looking to be between 45 and 50 minutes long
Since research and writing is the bulk of the work for me, this video doesn't have much longer until it's ready.
2020-03-07 03:21:05 +0000 UTC View PostBasically nothing. I've essentially taken the week off as I wait for my research assistant to get through the book, which isn't a dig at them at all since it's quite thick and they're doing this in between their day job, but it has left me twiddling my thumbs a bit. It's been an absolute treasure trove of obscure information and totally worth the wait, and it should only take another day or two, but I'm bored, so I'm probably just going to start up on the script again which MIGHT be a waste o...

I plan to finish the first section of the book as March's audiobook! I'm curious to hear what you all think about this particular one, if you have any thoughts.

First book is in and read.
Second book my research assistant was able to acquire through interlibrary loan. Should arrive next week.
Progress is halted until second book comes in.
Ryan is working on concepts for music, and Arcaxon is already working on the graphics.
Working on my first crossover video in a long time, which will be on another person's channel.

Script already started regardless, having to go back and rewrite, delete, and shift sections to fit new info as it comes in.

2020-02-08 03:32:20 +0000 UTC View PostRight now, I'm facing a rather difficult decision, and I'd like to hear the opinions of my patrons, since you all are a large part of what allows me to make my videos full-time.
As many of you have seen, I've begun to branch out just a little bit in my free time, experimenting with other forms of interaction with my viewing public. Shows like The Warrens and joining people like Jabroni Mike for livestreams have become something that I enjoy doing every so often. These are things that, b...
2020-01-30 23:08:09 +0000 UTC View PostThis is one of my favorite short horror stories, and I feel privileged to get to share this with you. It seems to be rather rare, as a cursory search for a PDF online turned up nothing. Enjoy. In terms of the iffy vocabulary, which is minimal, please keep in mind that this story is from 1939.
And with this audiobook, I am officially caught up! Thank you, all of you, for being so patient with me.

At long last, I have finished all three parts of Call of Cthulhu. January's audiobook is already recorded, and all I have to do is put the pieces together. That should be coming in the next few days, then I'll be all caught up with audiobooks. Enjoy!

2020-01-07 13:59:15 +0000 UTC View PostHappy new year, everyone! I just got back from my holiday break, and I can't even begin to describe how much better I feel. 2019 was difficult in many different ways for me, but I'm reinvigorated and excited to get working in a way that I haven't felt in a long time.
This raises the question: what's coming next?
#1 on the list is catching up on Patreon audiobooks. I've been behind for a while, and I'm excited to be back and up-to-date on them.
#2 are the Patreon Q&As. La...

Part 2 ended up being longer than I expected, and I've unfortunately run out of time to record part 3 for this month. December's audiobook will have to be released early January, I'm afraid. If you want this month's audiobook but plan on cancelling your pledge after this month, please DM me so I can get it to you when it's ready!

Next episode is done. Waiting on YouTube to play nice. Expecting it to be up in the next few days.
Audiobooks and Wings Q&A come in the next few days as well.
Thinking about not charging for December since I won't have as much time to research. Comments?
Thinking about transforming progress updates into "journal entries" where I talk about my thoughts on the craft of my videos and what sort of thought goes into creating them. Comments?
