Ninja Town Secret Entrances

Hi Patrons

Attached to this post are the locations of the secret entrances (the white 'S') to the dungeon levels.

We also put secret roof entrances in the same locations for quick transit between levels.

We hope you have fun with this set.

Your support is appreciated.

Ninja Town [62 x 62]

There is never a signpost pointing 'Here there be ninjas'...

A quiet,  unremarkable town. Safer than most. Simple honest folk who fish, farm, hunt and craft.

So forgettable the bandits and raiders in the region never make it there. Tax collectors too.

Perceptive visitors may notice some tatami mats don't sit flush with the others or some loose floor boards and roof tiles. Curious ones may find the mats and boards lift to reveal sta...

Heroes of the Fey [50 x 50]

At the borders of the Fey Realms they stand, forgotten heroes. Eternal and impassive, unmarked by storms, summers and birds. Prophecies claim they will arise to bring low the Realms’ foes in the End Days. Few have the patience to wait for the End Days so magi, priests and scholars lose their lives pursuing the secrets of awakenings.

What started as conversation about a Clash of the Titans in a fey realm went off on a tangent and finished with a Fey Guardian quest and this map...

Tiger Monument [50 x 50]

Happy Lunar New Year, in this the Year of the Water Tiger.

We are back after our summer vacation (hello from Down Under) and are ready for an exciting year of maps and games.

To celebrate the Year of the Tiger, we are releasing our Tiger Monument map set.

We originally used the jungle village maps in game, then created the beach maps as a nod to water being the element for the year.

Alternative maps include jungle, swamp, fey and sacrificial altar variants.

Enjoy...

Fey Dragon Lair [50 x 50]

Deep in the Feywild far from the mayhem of the Queen’s Court, daring or reckless souls seek out the ancient lore of Kiazzmaya. Rumours abound of the mercurial beast, is she the Ancient and Eternal or one of many who lounge here for a time. Seelie, Unseelie or beyond classification?  The price to be paid for the enlightenment may be as simple as a quest or as complex as a dance. No visit to the Lair is ever the same and those who value the journey over the destination are left rethinkin...

The Swamp Village and other Hamlets [40 x 40]

Assuming they haven’t become lost, after couple of days travel through the marshes, when the stench has become almost bearable, travellers reach a raised village. Partially overgrown, buildings connected by slippery platforms and unsteady rope paths, it is a welcome reprieve. Once inside, there is respite from the snakes, mosquitos and leeches. The firewood is dried and produces more flame than smoke. The locals’ surliness and the cost of everything is another reminder that nice things do...

Fort of the Dragon Pond [50 x 50]

The mighty wyrm Kyugonsei lay dying, her tyranny ended following a bloody rebellion by her enslaved peoples. With her final words she taunted her killers’ insignificance and laughed a final curse that her death would not free them and she would never allow them peace.

The dragon bled out, its blood pooled into a pond. The pond was ‘blessed’ and healed the wounds, and cured the ills of all who bathed in it. The leaders of the victors, freed from the beast’s rule, all claimed the ...

Kitsune Jingu (Fox Shrine) [44 x 60]

Deep in the wilderness, the shrine to the Fox is well maintained and year-round has fresh offerings. Many offerings are just to stay on the good side of the Fox, others though are left by those who know the ancient secrets and use the shrine to send messages across the realms, faster and more securely than any courier.

We used the Inari legend as the inspiration for this map. A simple quest, the players had to reach the shrine deep in the woods to send important messages. Of co...

Monastery above the falls [36 x 50]

Serenity to the Max!

Are they determined, bloody-minded or foolhardy? The pilgrims seeking enlightenment above the falls, having already endured a brutal journey must then prove their mettle at the island shrine to earn admittance.

What happens in the years following entry, is a secret, known to the gods and shared by none.

The final test of the devotees’ enlightenment is the step of faith.

The Grotto [35 x 35]

The nondescript, dank, cave entrance offered respite for our ‘heroes’ from the pursuing hordes. Inside, the enchanting music and laughter drew them deep into the cave. After travelling for a minute, or years, the cave opens to a garden of fungi in an unnaturally bright grotto. Hunger pangs assail the heroes. Which mushrooms are edible?

This map set started out as a simple idea to make a shrine in a grotto. The idea took on a mind of its own and things got a bit out of control. The r...

Hi

Many of our maps have a Japanese or Fey theme to them. We are choosing which map sets to release over the next month and would love to know which styles of maps you are interested in seeing.

Samurai Graveyard [30 x 30]

Here lie the heroes’ remains, honoured by the realm for their service and sacrifice.

The common people ensure the graves are respectfully maintained.

Wicked folk though have other intentions for the fallen and plot mayhem.

Hi

Here is our Samurai Graveyard (Hakuba) and its variants.

Aside from the usual necromancy shenanigans, they make a great role-playing setting for secret meetings, stashing loot and ninja plots.

Happy Halloween Hakaba [30 x 30] free to patrons

Hi

We are releasing a Hakaba (Japanese styled graveyard) map-set later in the week. It's October so we thought it would be fun to do an extra Halloween themed map. This map is a free bonus map for patrons.

We hope you enjoy it and if you fit it into an adventure let us know.

Thanks for your support.

Oasis Canyon [60 x 60]

He sells sanctuary.

Under a blistering sun, atop ancient bridges, made by peoples long forgotten, the Vizier of the Oasis sees the dust of an approaching caravan and smiles greedily.

Below, parched travellers of the heat blasted canyons offer prayers of gratitude on discovering this is a sanctuary and not another mirage. Caravan hands can water themselves and the beasts while the merchants barter with a cool wine.

First though, the Vizier’s toll must be paid. A coin for ev...

Akigawa 60 x 60 October Free Patron map set

The changing leaves announce Summer has fallen once again. The Daimyo’s warriors prepare the winter’s quarters with food and wood.

Merchant caravans begin to hurry on, none want to be stranded when the snow hits.

The innkeeper listens to the travellers’ gossip, trying to gauge how many fool adventurers will need to be fed and housed, for the right price, during Winter’s rule.

Those who will remain utter a prayer the mountain savages have ample fare and won’t be rai...

Fey Throne 25 x 41

All the fun of the Faerie!

Some rise from the ancient springs, others have journeyed lifetimes through the wilderness.

Vivid terrifying beauty awaits all who approach.

Supplicants make obeisance and approach in awe. The shackled cower in despair.

A select few control their awe and maintain their dignity approaching the floating dais to commune with the unchallenged ruler of this realm.

However they approach, Her whims decide th...

Trespassers to the primal woods trudge the forest floor day after sunless day without meeting the ancient denizens.

Will these visitors be embraced  and nourished in celebration, or will the forest embrace their corpses for nourishment?

The Vineyard 60 x 60

Wine, wizards and song.

The  Vintner welcomes thirty travellers. Lush vines embodying the natural  beauty of viticulture.

The imbiber is left unsure whether the glorious  drop is a work of art or wizardry. After the second barrel is tapped no one cares.

We made this map and its fifteen variants for our Curse of Strahd campaign (won't say much due to spoilers), it rocked.

Get wrecked.

Who doused the lighthouse and started the bonfire  on the outer cliff? We know it were no local sailor for the ship hit  the reef far from shore and the treasure inside never made it close  enough for salvage. The treasure looks gone nonetheless. Maybe the  sharks ate it with the crew.
