Evacuation Update

Okay! This is Adam, just a quick update to let everybody know what's going on since the hurricane evacuation.

I've been staying in hotels for almost three weeks now, and I can't keep this up. So I'm driving back to my home town today. Unfortunately, while the worst parts of the hurricane have been handled, my home town's still something of a disaster area, and power and internet are being restored in slow, patchy progress. I don't know at what point my house will have power again.

The Cute and Powerless

First off, it's pretty likely we won't be able to get out the Daylight Page on the 15th - lot of stuff is up in the air right now with Adam's whole situation and it's pretty unlikely we'll be able to fit it in for the moment.

Body Rejuvenation Experiment

A funny thing, this and the Mermista & Sea Hawk picture were actually back-to-back in our backlog; in the name of spacing them out that one got put up early and this one got held back on.

In general She-Ra's always fun to work with, and Entrapta's one of the best characters in the show. Yuki Nursery

Hey, folks, this is Adam, typing frm my hotel room, just letting everyone know I'm doing fine here. I'm slowly getting used to this set up, though it's far less than optimal, and hopefully can get out commissions again relatively soon-ish. First off - Daylight will go up on the first as normal. It's a pretty basic page in terms of art for us, very much trying to minimize the head count, but it does at least notably further the story instead of us running filler in its place like was probably the only real alternative option.

Hurricane Evacuation

Hey, everybody.

This is Adam, and just letting you all know that I've had to evacuate Louisiana due to the hurricane. I'm in a hotel room trying to get my tablet to work with my laptop. Not sure how long I'll be up here (praying not long), but any commissions might have to be on hold until I either fix the tablet or get back home.

Let Mommy Help You

This is one we're really eager for feedback on, bit of an oddball experiment with background tones. I really can't see this being something we'd use very often or really necessarily ever again, but thought it could be an interesting test.

Funny how the background is sort of the main thing to talk about when this is another picture we completely redid the heads just before posting; the initial one wasn't bad or anything but we could see a few good ways to polish it up and so gave it anot...

This one was redrawn pretty last minute to polish up the proportions; wanted to make it more clear that the characters were adults and they came out too short in the original version so it just looked odd. Actually the second time Yuta was redrawn for this picture - we originally did him standalone with the intention of finishing later but his hair wasn't quite right and he was done in the older line style.

Erika Detail Test

Yeah, just a cute little shot of Erika, wanting to test out various things with how we draw hair and clothes. Not a gigantic amount to say about it but hope everyone enjoys, some feedback would be appreciated here - we moved this well ahead of schedule on posting in part due to being eager to get some thoughts about it.

Sort of funny, we've also been experimenting with how we draw padding but you can't see it here. Guess we'll need to show that off another time.

Switch To Cloth

Not gonna lie, when I googled the average diaper use per day thing for babies, didn't expect the actual numbers to be 8 per day. Huh. But yeah, have fun doing stuff with June being a bit of a cute hippy, and this was a good little diddy for her to soapbox for. ^^ Very nice. 

Vampire Arguments

Heheh... Yeah, this was a weird one. It started out as an experiment for using tones and patterns (Notice the bunnies on Layla's diaper).  Expanded to having that beatiful tree pattern on the walls, the coffin-cradle... Yeah, all around a cute one. 

Dumped In The Smash Nursery

Yeah, the basic idea on this is that the.... whatever it is that fans have decided all the Smash fighters live at has a nursery that the babies can play in, and Pittoo's been put into it. Alongside baby versions of Isabelle, Daisy, and Corrin. Cute, eh?

IIIII kinda got out of control with the background on this. I started with, "Y'know, taking care of babies is a thing in Yoshi games, so let's just make the nursery Yoshi themed." It wound up being a whole thing, with the painted wall, ...

This page is pretty strange, pretty clearly just kind of a lead in to the next one - we've had what Sonny's general deal is in mind for a long time, but we were for a long time unsure just how far to go into it now and how far later. Think this works as a pretty good lead-in, though I imagine without the context of the next page his question in the last panel is probably going to read pretty strangely.

Do hope that everyone enjoys it, sort of a light page artistically but think it hits ...

Anonymous Commission - Yukari Lecture

We really should try and do more Azumanga of our own accord, feels like we only ever really hit it when it comes to commissions. Maybe it's just since it's one of those things we get commissions for at a pretty steady clip? I dunno.

Admittedly in retrospect on this one the proportions could definitely use some ironing out here. She's pretty top-heavy. Still like how it looks on the whole though.

Lulshi Commission - Magical Oversight Page 1

Onward To Adventure

We kinda realized around this point we've been putting out a LOT of She-Ra content, since this one and another of Entrapta were produced pretty close together. This is being bumped up and the Entrapta one's been pushed back to help space them out.

Heheh.... Yeah, moving on with Wendy and Sonny... This was sort of written by both of us, but most of it came from Martin, in particular that great ending note. This is a really hard thing to write for Wendy, since she has to ask questions but not look too horrible and still be sympathetic. ^^

Global Tiger Day 2020

We did one of these with Thomas a couple years ago, but it was kind of ehhhh and before the character had really even actually debuted yet. Naturally we want to get in the swing of really making this a thing given how much we enjoy working with him, so here's him and Sonny being all cute together!

Expect to probably see Thomas wearing outfits like that a lot more often. Of late we've gotten kind of attached to dressing him in more colorful outfits, just kind of a cute fit for him.

Welcome To Hinnoji Daycare

Heheh... Yeah, me and Martin wrote the dialog for this just going back-and-forth with it. ^^ Also the four babies in the daycare were designed to resemble the Elite Four. Very cute, yeah?

Not a gigantic amount to say on this one, just more My Hero. Not the only thing we have waiting in the wings with Eri and... earlobe girl, I dunno what her name is, Adam's the My Hero guy.

Dirtybooks Commission - Tea Time For The Fairies

Yeah, was fun to draw this one. Was a sequel to the last picture Dirtybooks requested from us; we see the regressed Gloria, Bede, and Opal. I liked getting the chance to see Opal's face in her younger form. ^^

Annakatan Commission - Kafei Out Shopping

First off, wanna thank everybody who commented on that pose thing. All the detailed feedback you guys left helped a ton. ^^

But yeah, there's nothing to talk about here, just a simple shot of Kafei getting tickled by Skullkid. Always fun seeing Kafei again~

Pose Practice

This is one of those things where feedback is very much needed.

We've been trying to improve how we do poses. We're trying for more dynamic and animated, showing more personality in each one.

To try our hands out, we found some sheets with stock poses and tried to see how those poses worked. Clearly the results came out adorable, and hopefully you can see more personality and spunkiness in how everyone looks just based on how they're standing.

Need Some Help There?

Heheh... Yeah, something cute with Ness and Wii Fit Trainer. ^^ Latter is someone we always liked and never draw that much, but she just came out great.

This is a pretty clear copy/paste to make two panels, but we kinda needed another beat to make the dialog work and show Ness needing a change. Also was fun to do health-conscious dialog from Wii Fit Trainer.

This one was pretty fun to do, more of Thomas and Sonny being adorable together as well as just kind of shuffling the extra characters out of the way to more properly put the focus back to Wendy and Sonny. Have to imagine this arc will be longer than the first but do think it probably won't run all that much longer.

Morning Boasts

Heheheh... Yeah, this started with us just drawing that freakishly-adorable shot of Imouto and adding Yuki and Kyon in to finish the picture.  Still think she's one of the better parts of it, but Yuki's padding sort of catches the eye. ..... Which is probably the reason she's been buying ones with logos on the booty, come to think of it.

I really need to watch Watamote again, it's been awhile and it's a really fun show. Just the right balance of hilarious and yet kind of heartbreaking. At least things work out alright for her in the manga?
