Good afternoon everybody, I hope you're doing great. It's been a week since the last project. I've taken a few days off to recharged the mental batteries. I'm now cruising around the edges of the next project.
I took the time to get some much needed jobs done in real life. A fence needed some repairs, some decking needed painting, an electrician needed calling. But also I really needed to look into upgrading my existing PC.

Hello all. I hope you liked the last video. Here's a follow up post and editing retrospective on the last 5 weeks making SWAT 4/Ready or Not bullshittery. And thank you all, as always, for supporting me with this lark.
The first thing to talk about is overall structure. For during the initial cutting, I've noticed that there's quite a large number of highlights left for a part 2. I've even made a quick timeline to chain some clips together in preparation for ...

Good evening all. Hope you've had a lovely week.
I have a finished render for Ready or Not/SWAT 4 bullshittery. Thank you for your patience everybody. I know these things take ages. You can find the link right here as early access for you all - https://youtu.be/_n20RCe-76w
As before, I'll follow up this post with a proper 'behind the scenes'/editing retrospective post this weekend. It's a bit late in the ev...

Good evening everybody. Hope you're all doing smashing. Another update during week 4 of the editing.
The last update was week 2 and I was making steady progress keyframing and properly animating SWAT 4/Ready or Not bullshittery. A process that continued in week 3 without issue. This is the week where I'm primarily trying to get the near-full edited video through it's quality assurance.
Here's a shot of the timeline in the final form. Note that the blue repres...

Good evening everybody. An update on how things are going with the latest bullshittery.
I'm currently working on a combi-video of Ready or Not and SWAT 4. And last week was the cutting week for the footage, whilst this week is meant to be for the keyframing/animating of the first 5 minutes. I should be on 3 minutes complete today. I'm currently ahead at 5 minutes and 12 seconds.

It's that end of the week update on the pre-production work. Good news and bad news.
The bad news is I came down with a common cold on Tuesday. Probably caught at a family lunch on Sunday. Meaning it feels like someone has been running a marching band through my sinuses.

I blame one of the little cousins/nephew, which is why all kids should be declared illegal immediately.
The good ...

Good evening everyone.
With Halo bullshittery out the door, I'm going to take a few days to chill. Also there's a whole bunch of IRL chores I've been putting off. Plumbers, electrician repairs, etc. I really need to get some things organised.
But looking to the future, I need to consider which project to work on next. And since Halo was my selection, here are six potential choices to vote for.
I'll combine it with the Twitch subscriber poll, which I'll pop below in the comme...

Good morning all. Super brief update on Halo bullshittery.
It's currently the 4th week (of a planned 4) on the edit. And the video as a whole has cleared the phase 1 of keyframing. Meaning all 10 minutes have been animated in Adobe After Effects, both last week and the week before.
It's now going through the quality assurance rework/phase 2 refinements - 2025-01-29 10:04:25 +0000 UTC

Happy Friday all, I hope you've all had a smooth week.
Over here it's the end of week 2 (of a planned 4) for Halo bullshittery. And I should have completed about 5 minutes of text and animation keyframing. I've completed 5 minutes and 40 seconds, with some additional phase 2 polishing. Putting me slightly ahead due to positive factors I'll talk about shortly.
Here's a shot of the current timeline:

Good evening all. It's the end of the first week on Halo bullshittery. And I feel I've completed the cutting phase. And in doing so have made a few discoveries. Here's a shot of the timeline as it currently exists:

An update on pre-production work last week:
There are roughly 50 Halo livestreams. And I've managed to get through about 60% of them.
This produced about 130 sequences within a Master project file. With the overwhelming majority being what I call category 1 clips - meaning very short moments of comedy.
There were also 5-6 sequences dedicated to specific mini games which are far more involved (hide and seek, obstacle courses, etc).

Good morning all. At the end of last week, having had enough relaxation over Christmas, I decided to make a start on editing.
As the next game is my choice, I've started going through and reviewing the Halo: Master Chief collection stream footage in order to build a master project file. The first phase necessary for any bullshittery.
For those unfamiliar with my process, the master project file is essentially a bucket of cl...

Hello Patrons. Apologies for the very late post. This was actually typed about 1 week ago but the Patreon two-factor authentication system stopped working, locking me out of this account.
I had to go through their support tickets and wait a bit.
The prior week though has been lovely insofar as destressing. For a DayZ server was placed live which let me interact with you, my lovely audience.
For example, here's me interacting with viewer Rico:

Good evening everybody. I've been able to complete Space Engineers bullshittery part 5. Sorry that it's more than a week overdue. I've been able to review a test render this afternoon and a draft is available here for those interested - https://youtu.be/2rp3l5YT5wg
Now a quick word of warning. I wasn't able to clean out the list of issues. There's a major one you need to know about.- 2024-12-12 20:44:38 +0000 UTC

Good evening everybody. Sorry I'm afraid that I've slipped the delivery date on the video. It was meant to be today. But it appears that things are taking a bit longer than anticipated.
For those unfamiliar with the previous posts, I'm currently working on Space Engineers bullshittery with a total runtime of about 22 minutes when finished. Early on I decided to work on it in two distinct chunks:
Good morning everybody. I've managed to complete the second half of Space Engineers bullshittery. It's available here for all Patrons - https://youtu.be/8KTojndpHQU
So this second half focuses entirely on the closing exploration of our builds. But most notably Tom's subterranean Triton base. The first half, which is about to go into phase 1 editing, is more traditionally bullshittery'esk. Featurin...

Good evening everybody. Another update on the current bullshittery.
I've been able to complete the keyframing for the second half of Space Engineers bullshittery. The whole thing took me about 2 weeks and 2 days. Pretty much on schedule for just over 12 minutes of keyframing.
That process involved exporting the final cut in Premiere over to After Effects. Turning the timeline that looked like this:

Good evening all. Hope you've all had a nice weekend.
Another progress update on the bullshittery
I've had about 1 week and 1 day on the keyframing. So I should have completed at least 6 minutes. I've completed 7 minutes and 14 seconds so far. Honestly, everything is going smoothly.
For those unfamiliar, the whole Space Engineers video is about 25 minutes long. But I'm going to try to deliver it in two halves - second half first - to give you somet...

Very quick update folks. I've finalised the cut for Space Engineers bullshittery. It's about 24 minutes long.

I've started the text and animation work. What I plan to do is split it into two pieces. Part 1 and a part 2, working on them in isolation in order to give people something to watch sooner rather than later. I figured that would make much more sense.
I've started on part 2 first....

Good evening all. Hope you're having a smooth Monday. Last week (and this weekend) I've been working on pulling together Space Engineers bullshittery. And here's how things are going.

Good evening folks. An update several days after the polls - Space Engineers was the clear winner with 771 votes. Thank you very much for voting all. It's much appreciated.
I've already made a solid start. Three things to talk about in this update:
The process of "nesting" at the start of the project
The character of the footage reviewed so far.
The retrieval of an offsite storage device because of some data loss (?).

Good morning everybody. Hope you're all having a chill weekend.
Over here I've got a bit of a job. I need to go crawling around in the loft, laying down reams of insulative padding in preparation for the colder temperatures incoming in the UK. Should be a proper task.
Knowing me, Lulu is going to be staring at my leg protruding through the kitchen ceiling soon enough. Will let you know how it goes in the next livestream :)

Good evening all. Apologies, I was meant to do this update way earlier in the week.
I've been able to get to the near-end of the main edit for Half Life Alyx. With only some bits intentionally outstanding for reasons I'll expand upon in a moment.
Here's a shot of the current timeline from Adobe Premiere. The blue parts are the principle edit. About 26 minutes from the 3 hours of original livestream.

Good evening everybody. Just to provide another update after a couple of weeks on Half Life Alyx. Things thus far are going smoothly. I've managed to get to roughly 8 minutes and 30 seconds edited out of 26 minutes. So roughly 32% done so far.
Here's a shot of the timeline. With the After Effects comps (pink) and overlays (yellow and green) creeping across the screen as work is underway.

Just to check in and say that the initial cutting phase for Half Life: Alyx has gone very well. I'm very confident I can make an entertaining video.
The process went something like this. It's that old sculptures joke: 'you just chip away at everything that doesn't look like an elephant'.
