Hey Patrons, I'm here to follow up on that post from the other week. If you don't know what I'm referring to, it's a couple post down, but I'll give a short recap.
I was informed I needed to cease posting as well and remove any NSFW art of Marvel IP if I want to keep having a working relationship with them. This doesn't include the SFW versions, just the heavily erotic stuff.
After talking with colleagues, they've also known of similar policies with DC as well...
Time-lapse for Sunspot attached below. This one was in the same file I did the thumbnails in so you can briefly see some of the ideas I played with at first, but I quickly decided on the 'bicycle kick'. I love it because it has to do with his character and his origin playing soccer, it's active and also feels very pin-up at the same time...well at least the way I drew it. ;-)

Wrapped up the Sunspot piece this afternoon. I don't do a lot of active poses so I dig how this one turned out. I like the detail of the sand sticking to his legs/feet. I saw some pictures when looking at references that made me think I could do some fun pin-up pictures with sand stuck on guys.
I've got the phone wallpapers and by request, I started doing desktop wallpapers too! I'm gonna go back to the others and do a desktop wallpaper for those too.
Got going on my Sunspot pin-up. I didn't do much in the way of an exploration phase because I knew what I wanted to do. I wanted beach and I wanted soccer so why not combine them. I thought it would be cool to have his foot activated with his power as he's about to kick the ball. I'm not sure if he can isolate this powers like that, but I wanted to hint at it so it was clear who the character was and not just a random man. ;-)

Wrapped-up(hehehe) your boy Matt last night! Kinda dig this one having a different vibe from the other's I've done. A little more dark. A little more moody. I also changed the eyes on the mask from the last post. I couldn't settle on what I liked, but I think the big red eye plates read cleaner from a distance. Especially with how dark the palette is, it's nice to have that bright red to contrast.

Got some more progress on Matt! Trying some slightly new things with style on this one. I kept trying to come up with the background colors and I didn’t like anything. None of it felt very Daredevil. A Darker, moodier palette just seems more fitting. As I’m typing this out, I’m now realizing it feels very Steve Huston. Work’n on the skin tone and muscles. The pectorals are always fun to paint. I wanted to add a but more redness in the center of the chest. Kind of that flushed look. Might push it further if it looks good. When he’s closer to done, I’ll probably add some scrapes, scars and bruises. It’s always hard not to go for the fun details too soon.

Wanted to take some time to do studies of my trashy pixie character. I think I’ve settled on calling him Bud. Bud the pixie. It would be fun to come up with some mini comic strips with him doing cute, sexy things. He’ll need friends first. Maybe some other pixies, imps, etc.
Anyway, a goal of mine is to make some original characters that I can fully own and do what I want with. I’ve never done comic sequentials, and I think some short strips could be a good place...

I'm pretty jazzed with how this one turned out! This one definitely went through a journey of changes which you'll be able to see in the time-lapse video when that goes up.
