Was a fun commission, I always enjoy when I can draw specific breeds or subspecies of animals. Plus Abbies are like adorable cats. <3
So this has been on the 'to do' list for a few years. I wanted to make two beer and two wine drink coasters with cats in a vintage advertisement feel. I'll make some line corrections and probably make these digital as the printing requires fewer colours.
Even if I would LOVE to paint these in gouache.
They will be double sided with the same image on both sides, sold as an 8 pack so you get two coasters of each design.

I needed an example for inked and cell shaded. My fiancé and I were talking about star wars as I use to read a lot of the novels/comics. So this happened which was really fun.
I've been trying to push myself to ink more often because it's something I have avoided for years.
This was done for Mulefoot of the character Sudarsini.
I have such a weak spot for lioness characters, which sadly are not that common.
Okay so I have been doing a TON of work this last week. Mostly script writing, design work etc but I got 6 issues written out. So I'm really hoping to be able to start showing some of that project soon. It's sci-fi based actually.

I wanted to make a series of smaller paintings (9X6) watercolour and gouache paintings base on constellations as I have always had a mad love for artwork that shows space or stars. I LOVE constellations even if I totally can not ever find or see them in the sky. ( I blame the dreamworks animated Sinbad movie)
I'll paint the sky in watercolour and paint the figures in white gouache so they have that classic star chart art. HOPEFULLY the matte of the white gouache will be nice effect rat...
Okay I wanted this posted this morning but editing this took all morning.
Painting this also took longer, last week I had a surgery which I was released to home care but it did eat into my productivity.
I went with a Calico instead of a Black cat because to me this image is feminine and I like representing that with Torties and Calicos as per genetics they are more often than not female.

I put up an auction on FA.
I haven't painted a plane in a loooong time.
This one is for Kuroro of the character Sulani a northern shrike bard with a morbid streak.
I thought this concept was so cool, shrikes are kind of freaky birds.
So long time ago I made my own pantheon of gods combining western symbolism. This guy was rebirth or revivescere to live again.
He's a human with the skull of a cat, it's not that he is a cat he just cannot see his face/know his name/etc.
Has a twelve point crown/halo/crown of immortality that is often deer horns locked in a circle that either glow/on fire/or candles.
Also always is chained/locked like a prisoner.
He carried a lantern, scythe(other farming equipment...
I actually really liked painting the vultures wings.
Now onto the collar is my crown.
So my productivity this week is down.
So long story, had crohns diease flare up caused a lot of pain from eating a beet last week, pain caused me to clench my teeth so a back tooth freaked out and been causing me pain since.
Crohns disease calms down, cool no hospital!... Bring my cat Tatya to the vet on Saturday for congestion and then get told she has fluids in her abdomen. Agree to bring her back Monday.
Bring Tatya to the vet on Monday, she gets sedated and we find no fluids....
So I decided to make a try at Calico as to me this image was feminine and I wanted to convey that in the artwork which a Calico does. I also have another concept for a black cat and haven't had a Calico yet.
I'm thinking the halo to be pale gold aqua bronze along with the buckle of the collar.... maybe as aqua bronze doesn't shade so as a halo it's fine... we'll see.
Text will be either dark brown of black.
I plan on this being 9X12 gouache, try to get to it after the Jackal and ...
So I've been layering the ink in this and played with diluting acryla gouache with ink.
Makes interesting effects
So I was going to make a circle and changed that to a splatter as I've had good we be ts with texture in gouache backgrounds as gouache will be very smooth and solid colours.
We will see....
I also got my EF art show space! I was nervous about that.
So I picked up a number of 3X4 cradled wood panels, sealed and primed them awhile back. I like painting on this size for art shows because 3X4 painting doesn't take me a lot of time and it also isn't a wall space eater. I find small originals tend to get more noticed than large ones. But with that they often become head shots.
Obviously these are super rough sketch concepts. ;P
I realized I haven;t painted a hyena for awhile, they are next to cats on my favourite animals.<...
Was fun drawing a deer anthro and as far as I can remember I haven't drawn a continental dragoon before.

So I always leave it open for 4X6 conbadges that if people want them being small watercolour scenes than a badge. I also welcome it as I always can use the watercolour practice.
These were done for Newie of his character Mev that I have illustrated many times, this is in her more lion like form.
So I'll transfer this to 9X12 hot press paper.
I plan on the background being acrylic ink and the figures being gouache.
This was an acrylic inkwash commission of his character Kas in a Gothic/Victorian harem inspired attire. I am happy how this turned out, I had an idea and it executed it exactly how I seen it. Which doesn't always happen for me.
But watching wet on wet technique with black ink is really calming and kind of hypnotic.
Sorry about the delay, I've been dealing with a migraine from yesterday evening till today, most of today was with icepacks on my head but I have been able to finish this up.
I wanted it posted this morning.
I'll play around with the colour mockups next week after I finish some commissions and comic work. Not 100% sure what I want to do with the background but I want something to compliment the motion in this.

The other concepts will be up for vote again, I really like getting this feedback from all of you. It's motivating to know people want to see it rather than 'I THINK people will like this'

I have had the rough concept for this sitting on my computer for almost a year.
I think I'll make this in gouache on 9X12 hot press paper.
Cat more than likely will be black, maaaybe a calico. Halo will be done in pale gold aqua bronze so it will be hell-a-shiny

He's actually a jackal like animal, his design kind of just does its own thing and most importantly he doesn't look like a wolf.

Nebelung and Great Dane in the Prussian Army from the same village catching up while they have a smoke.
So I'll be redoing some of the tiers here on Patreon, I'll be changing the Silver ($15) and the Gold ($25) tier to be a random monthly draw which will be a digital or traditional sketch.

Reclining male figure is something I really enjoy drawing if you can't tell. So this was really fun to draw because big cats like reclining.
